"He has a funny way of caring for others then" Olive retorted, a bit unsure about that Ma-Ti actually cared for Gi. If he did he would've tried to help her, find her even and he didn't, all he did was find a girlfriend and try to forget about his responsibilities. The thought alone caused Olive's eyebrows to brow in anger. He didn't like Ma-Ti at all and was pretty much intimidated by him. He turned to hear Malachite once again swear that Olive, Gi and anyone else in the army would not be hurt by Critic's army. Despite doubting that Ma-ti wasn't as easy to beat as his new father assumed, he believed in malachite's power being useful and good enough to protect him and others. Olive smiled softly "I believe you dad. I really do. I just wish that Ma-Ti wasn't here to be able to kill us with that power ring of his or something. Why is that all the bad guys have to befriend someone only to betray them? Doesn't that just defeat the purpose of getting a friend altogether?"

Malachite nodded.
"You're right. He does. But he will soon be dealt with." said Malachite.
He paused and smiled at him.
"I will personally make sure he isn't a threat to anyone. Gi, you, me, and the rest of our army will be safe from him soon enough." said Malachite.
He paused turning to Olive and shook his head.
"That ring so far as I know only works on magical creatures. And even with that ring's power, Ma-Ti wasn't able to kill me. He just banished me to a coffee house with no powers. Facilier was able to free me thankfully. But I will not go back to that place or let Ma-Ti hurt anyone else." said Malachite.
He paused and shook his head.
"I don't know. I suppose it didn't help the kid's parents died when he was young. He was raised by his tribe's chief and then went to go off and save the world with his friends. He was just too young. That doesn't excuse his actions but it could explain them. The only real love he got from his parents was taken from him so when he was ripped away from his only real friends the Planeteers it made him bitter, angry. And after being verbally abused by his new batch of friends he nearly destroyed the world. As much as I hate that brat he's a victim just as much as he is a villain. I pity him but that won't stop me from killing him to keep everyone safe." said Malachite.

Olive believed in Malachite enough to take his promises seriously, that said he still had a worry over the fact Ma-Ti was still around. Olive then realized that Malachite was a escapee himself from a cursed coffee shop and that Facilier rescued him. He also discovered the backstory of Ma-Ti and although that caused Ma-Ti's actions to be understandable, Olive felt that wasn't worth killing the whole villianous attack on earth. If that was the case, Olive would've been evil a long time ago. But enough of that, Olive had to respond to Malachite eventually
"I guess I feel more sorry for him too. But still, Gi was his friend and she cared for him and he just dropped her like a piece of meat" Olive said bitterly "Just because he suffered doesn't mean he should make people who helped him suffer too. And since he was abused by Critic before, why didn't he just, I don't know use his powers on him instead on everybody"

Malachite smiled at him.
"Yes. Pity him but don't go easy on the boy. He didn't have a good life with his parents dying at a young age, being separated from his first group of friends and then his new ones treating him like crap. I bet even now they're all just feeling guilty because he saved them all when he died. Even when he tried to destroy this universe they were only trying to ease their guilt. The poor fool never had a chance. He's just a lost angry kid." said Malachite.
He paused with a grin as an idea came to him. If there was a chance to turn Ma-Ti against Critic and the others it would be very devastating to them. He had nearly wiped out this universe once. He did hate the boy. But the chance of possibly making Ma-Ti an ally could be useful. If they could find the right way to do it. He turned back to Olive focusing on him.
"He was dead and I think the plot hole was corrupting his mind. But I don't know for sure. But we'll deal with Ma-Ti later. Let's talk about something else." said Malachite.
He grinned at him.
"What about you? Would you like to talk to me about your life? Favorite foods? movie? Any friends who might come bursting into the circus to rescue you?" said Malachite.

Olive nodded, annoyed with the fact Ma-Ti was a sympathetic person of interest, Olive just wanted to hate him. For hurting others and Gi simply because of his own emotions, but all emotions had a reason for being there and even Olive could see that if he was forced into orphan-hood long enough maybe he too would be like Ma-Ti. The thought made him shiver. He then was confused at Malachite's comment that maybe his mind was warped because of his death and the plot hole but he didn't know. He then smiled, relieved the subject was changed. He then made a slightly apprehensive face when Malachite asked him about himself. If he had friends, favorite foods, a movie he liked or just himself. Olive pondered the questions before answering.
"Well. That's actually a hard question. A lot of my life was just with my mom, we were around the middle class so we got by pretty well but we well liked in the community and a lot of people that my mom worked with were pretty generous enough to lend me movies and clothes and stuff but that kindness turned to pity when my mom was gone, so I left I didn't want anyone to take me away, I just was scared of getting abused by adopted parents and waited for the right adult like you" He hugged Malachite before continuing "Also before my mom died, she gave me a OH NO..."
He widened his eyes remembering his locket and ran to find the golden thing on the ground near the bench. He quickly picked it up and gave it to Malachite to look at "Sorry. That locket's all I have of her now. She gave it to me a couple years back on my birthday. Said it would let me know she would always be there even in death" Olive looked down and sighed and took the locket back and put it on. He harshly chuckled "Funny. I don't feel like she's here with me" He shook his head and responded "My favorite foods are cheeseburgers and chocolate ice cream by the way. And my favorite movie is Iron Man. The first one by the way, the second one was ok and the third one I didn't see at all. Wish I can though"

Malachite listened to him.
"I see. Well, I don't just want to be a father but your friend as well to you. If some one hurts or offends you. If I do or say the wrong thing let me know so I can make it up to you and apologize. This is new to me too. But I want you to feel safe and loved. I know your mother would want that too." said Malachite.
He smiled as Olive hugged him and he returned it. He paused as Olive went looking for the locket as he found it. He nodded.
"That's alright. You want to keep something to remember her by." said Malachite.
He paused as he put the locket back on.
"I could cast a spell on the locket for you. So if you lose it then it would return to your room. I'd say return it to you but at times you could be in public and don't want to draw attention to yourself. Magic is just smoke and mirrors for most people. They don't believe it's real and if they did they'd be afraid. They'd call me a witch and come after me and the others here." said Malachite.
He paused as he said he didn't feel like she was with him. He paused in sympathy trying to think of a way to help him. He grinned as he spoke about his favorite foods.
"Cheeseburgers and chocolate ice cream? I think I could arrange for you to have them as often as you wish." said Malachite.
He paused as he said he wished he could see Iron Man 3. He grinned.
"Well I could get it from a rental and you could watch it sometime. It's easy enough to bring a tv into the room if you want to watch it alone." said Malachite.
He paused looking at him curiously. He didn't want to lose him to Critic's army. He had to know if he'd be okay with this army. Yes most of them here were evil. And some were against their will thanks to their spells. But Olive was one he didn't want to lose. He just hoped he could convince him to stay even if he found out about him being evil.
(ooc: Oh man this is will be awkward. Olive possibly fighting against one of his heroes. Iron Man. xd)

(OCC: Haha. Yep)
Olive nodded, listening to malachite's words. Olive didn't want to pressure his new dad, it was a new step for them both. The closer they got, the better their relationship would be. He then turned to see Malachite explain that he could conjure something up with the locket that if he lost it, it would just go back to his room "That's a great way to make sure I don't lose it. I never wanna lose it" He then nodded that the reason it wouldn't come back to him was because to prevent attention "Sure. I get it. Don't want people to be onto us" He then listened as malachite offered his favorite foods and responded cheerfully "Awesome! That'd be great! I'd love it!" He then fist-pumped "Really awesome? Some people told me Iron Man 3 is awesome. Can't wait. I've really wanted to see it"
Olive then saw Malachite look at him curiously, it caused Olive to wonder why his new father was looking at him this way. Was there something that he was hiding? What was wrong? Without waiting, Olive responded "Hey. You ok dad?"
Post by Malachite Gamic on Nov 4, 2013 15:22:13 GMT -5
Malachite grinned at him.
"I'll whip up the spell for you soon and get it to you. That way you won't lose that locket or anything else you want to keep." said Malachite.
He smiled glad Olive got the need for secrecy. He grinned hearing him say he loved it.
"Olive I also want you to know that your favorite foods won't be just here. We can go out for dinner sometime too. It may not be all the time. Like if you want to go to a certain restaurant no matter how pricey I'd take you there." said Malachite.
He nodded and frowned at the mention of Iron Man 3.
"I don't want to lie to you Olive. You joined this army so you should know this a villain army. We're plotting to take over this world if we succeed. And Iron Man is one of the members of Critic's army trying to stop us. You're just a kid. I want to raise you as my son, teach you magic, whatever you want. You do not have to fight thisi Iron Man if you chose to stay. I'd never ask you to fight at all. It's your choice. But I don't want to start our relationship on lies. If you wish to join Critic's army or want to leave this war altogether you can. I don't want you to go but I will not force you to stay." said Malachite.
He might regret this but he knew if he kept this secret Olive would find out eventually and he didn't want Olive hating him for lying to him. While it was easy to lie to others he just found he couldn't lie to Olive. That he didn't want to. He paused as he got another idea.
"Before you make that decision I think you deserve a chance to say goodbye to your mother." said Malachite.
He snapped his fingers transporting them both inside into the attic upstairs. He waved his hand as candles appeared in a circle.
"Hear these words. Hear my cry. Spirit from the other side. Come to me. I summon thee. Cross now the Great Divide." chanted Malachite.
In a swirl of white lights there stood Olive's mother who stepped forward and became corporeal and walked up to Olive.
(ooc: You can rp her if you want in your next post since it is olive's mother after all.)

(OCC: Sure. That's fine)
Olive nodded and looked to his locket happily as Malachite said he would fix the spell up soon and give it to him. That caused him to be happier than he had in a while. He then grinned at the idea of going out to fancy dinners, that seemed like a cool time. He turned to Malachite and responded "Really? That'd be so cool!" He then listened to Malachite as he grew instantly solemn and tell him things Olive had to admit he didn't expect to hear. It turned out that malachite was the supposed evil enemy that critic was fighting against. That this army he was in was the bad guys of the army. Iron man was here but not on their side, but on Critic's and that Olive himself was a villain. He was shocked but for some reason the fact Malachite told him this instantly caused Olive to not care and trust the man far more than he ever did. The magician could've lied to him and not said anything, then Olive would've been upset but no, malachite said he told him this because he wanted to start their relationship honestly. And that Malachite wanted him to be happy and make his own choices, hell he didn't even have to fight or challange anyone, the man just wanted to take care of olive. Olive still had the seeds of hatred for critic and the others planted within him anyway, so it was easy to decide but before the final verdict was made, malachite stopped him and took him to a attic.
When Olive was transported to the attic with Malachite, he heard the man chant and suddenly a swirl of bright white lights flashed. Olive at first covered his eyes but eventually the lights stopped being so blinding and olive saw someone or something walk up to him. Suddenly it was a brown haired woman with blue eyes and a faint but soft smile, Olive rubbed his eyes and was shocked to realize this was indeed his mother going towards him. Olive froze and stood where he was but his mother smiled.
Do not fear me my son. Your friend brought me here to you because you wished for me to be here. It is alright. It is really me Olive's mother responded
"Mom? I-I can't believe it! It's... It's really you!" Olive cried, he looked to malachite before running over to the spirit woman and hugged her tightly. The boy started sobbing and his mother responded Oh my son, do not cry like this. I want you to be happy and your friend does too. I see it
"You're right mom. But I miss you. I didn't even get to say goodbye before the doctor..." Olive began, rubbing his tears away
I know. It was painful for you then and it is painful for you now but you must understand that while I am not here in life, I am here with you, in your mind and your heart His mother pointed to Olive's heart and smiled to him You've grown up so fast. I'm proud of you Oliver. I always will be. Now remember that and continue your life as you are. Be happy Olive, do not dwell on me. Promise me that
"I promise mom. I love you" Olive responded, hugging her again and he smiled as she hugged back
I know you do. I love you and I always will Olive's mother responded and eventually she let go of him, but she kissed his cheeks and got up. She sighed sadly then turned to Malachite and said softly All I ask from you is to protect my son. If he wishes to stay with you, you must take care of him when I cannot anymore. I thank you for letting me speak to him She then started to fade, and as she faded many thoughts came into Olive's mind. One being that malachite did more than help him eat and take care of him, he made olive his son and brought him back what many called impossible. Olive now knew what he had to do. What his decision would be.

Malachite watched happy as the mother and son reunited. He nodded listening to her.
"I will. If he chooses to stay I'll keep him safe. Even with my life if I had to." said Malachite.
He surprised himself with what he said. Then just like that, she was gone as he looked at Olive. He smiled giving him a hug as he looked at him. He then staggered back as he collapsed into a chair. Summoning the dead like this was a powerful spell and always had taken a lot out of him. He then looked at Olive and smiled.
"As I said before if you wish to stay I'll adopt you as my son. I'll keep you safe, make sure you have food, clothes, whatever you want. You'll be very happy here. That is if you want. If you'd rather leave I can help you find another family. You shouldn't be living on the streets like this. Your mother wouldn't like that and I know I don't want you to either." said Malachite.

Olive hugged Malachite back and let go but saw Malachite stagger and Olive was concerned but calmed when Malachite looked to him. Olive then listened as Malachite promised to take care of him and adopt him but if he chose to leave he would be supported in his decision and not forced to the streets. Olive knew what he had to do and he went over to malachite. He responded plainly "I don't care if you're the bad guy. To me you're my new dad and you'll be my dad regardless of what anyone says" He then smiled and responded "Mom said to me to continue my life and I am continuing it, here with you and facilier's army" He responded "I want to stay here. I want you to be my dad. I trust you more than anybody" He hugged Malachite and continued hugging tight, wondering what the older man might say.

Malachite looked at his concern and smiled.
"Sorry. Summoning the dead is a powerful spell. It takes a lot out of me. But I'll be okay in a few hours." said Malachite.
He looked at Olive in surprise and smiled.
"You still want to stay? You want to be my son?" asked Malachite.
Olive hugged him and Malachite hugged him in back in return.
"Thank you. I'll try to do my best. This is new to both of us so if I ever screw up or you get mad at me you let me know so? I can try to fix it." said Malachite.
He would file the papers soon and it wouldn't take long for Olive to officially be his son.

Relieved that Malachite was going to be fine, Olive decided to leave it be when it came to summoning the dead. Olive was curious to how exactly did he do that but that wasn't important right now, at least for the moment. Olive nodded inside Malachite's shirt as the man asked that he really did want to be malachite's son, which was something he was extremely serious about. As he felt malachite hugged him back, Olive smiled and felt happy once more. He listened to Malachite's response that he would do his best but if he screwed up or got mad Olive should let him know. Olive looked at him and responded "Yeah. I'll let you know. Don't worry. I'm good at pointing out problems" He shrugged at that and then scratched his arm absentmindedly as he asked "So what kind of stuff do you have to do for adopting me again? I kinda don't know the details"
Post by Malachite Gamic on Dec 17, 2013 23:58:09 GMT -5
Malachite smiled at him.
"I'm glad you want to stay. You're the first person I've ever really cared about in a long time. The last person I trusted and cared about betrayed me. So it's really hard for me to trust or care for anyone. If you stay here I want you to be honest with me. If you choose one day to leave, tomorrow, a month, a year, whenever you tell me. It will hurt but I want to know why. I will never force you to stay here or would want you to stay out of obligation towards me. I want you to be happy even if one day that's not with me." said Malachite.
He didn't mean to question Olive's choice but Aeon's betrayal still stung and his parents died when he was very young so he had few memories of them. All he had was Aeon and then he had no one. Now he had Olive and Facilier. He paused thinking about the man. He certainly had gone above and beyond for him. Giving him that amulet and then giving him equal powers thanks to help from facilier's friends. He was even one of the current leaders of the army thanks to his partnership with Facilier and Rita. He turned back to Olive and smiled as he said he'd let him know if they had any problems.
"Good. I'm glad to hear that. I don't want any anger or resentment or secrets between us. I want this to be very happy for both of us." said Malachite.
He paused as he asked what stuff did he need to do.
"Just make some phone calls and sign some forms. It should be a quick procedure. If necessary we can speed the process up with magic. Now that I have you I won't let anyone take you away from me. Well unless you choose to go like I said before." said Malachite.
Post by Olive Gamic on Dec 22, 2013 14:43:57 GMT -5
Olive listened and understood that Malachite was asking Olive to be straight with him. To be honest and decide for sure if he wanted to leave or not. He knew his dad's past now so it was pretty obvious why malachite was being like this. He nodded and said calmly "I get it. You're right. I should be honest. But I AM being honest. I'm perfectly fine with staying and I understand you would want me to be happy even if it means hanging out with other people, but I want to be with you and I promise I don't wanna leave. You're the only source of family I have now, I don't wanna change that"
He nodded as Malachite said he didn't want anger or resentment between them "OK. No secrets or anger. Got it. I want this to be good for us too. I want to make this a good relationship. I'll do my best too" He nodded after saying that, as if making sure to confirm it.
"Oh. If you can speed it up with magic, that'd be good. Mostly because I don't want any weirdo to get any funny ideas with me. I'm glad that's all it takes" Olive replied assuringly as Malachite explained the details of adoption. He now knew it was easy so Olive was fine with the arrangement.
