(OCC: Olive and Malachite thread. February 25th. Afternoon)
Olive sat on a porch near the circus quietly. He was fondling with his golden heart locket and staring at his mother's picture. She was so pretty. She always was so pretty Olive smiled at the thought, because his mother was a good-looking woman, both inside and out. She was so kind, why did fate take her away no-one not even Olive knew but he must of been a bad child. A very bad child. Something he did caused her to die. The very thought caused him to remember seeing her in that hospital, coughing and demanding to see Olive, seeing how scared he was and the doctor responded with a stern look and a forced "sorry can't do that"
The memories, the pain, the coughs, the doctor's cruel prediction. All of it caused tears to stream down olive's face. Completely. This was a first time in a while he's been this emotional. He took the locket and threw it to the ground, and sat down crying loudly and into his hands. Almost not caring who was watching. He was too vunerable to acknowledge there were people nearby so he kept crying knowing he would regret it

Malachite walked out enjoying the fresh air. He paused as he saw Olive who seemed upset. He at least had his family and Aeon before Aeon had betrayed him. But Olive appeared to have no one. He then heard the sobs as he felt sad like his own heart was breaking along with the boy. He sat next to the boy wrapping him in a hug surprising even himself.
"It'll be alright. I can tell you miss someone. I'm not sure who it is but they must have been very important to you. I lost my own parents years ago and I still miss them. But it gets better Olive. The pain won't hurt as much in time and when you think about them you'll be able to laugh at the good times you had with them." said Malachite.
He wasn't sure if he was saying the right things as his parents had died when he was young and Aeon had betrayed him. He'd gotten so bitter over the years but perhaps he was given another chance to have a friend. If Olive wanted that.
(ooc: start with friendship i think and then we could go from there.)

(OCC: Sure fine by me)
Olive was too upset to even acknowledge or care that Malachite was hugging him. He just hugged tightly sobbing into the sorcerer's jacket, trying so hard to let it all go but couldn't. His mother was gone, his father was out of the picture, he had no guardians, he had no friends, Olive just felt so alone today. It was hard for him to handle and for someone to finally be there was helpful and useful. "But they didn't help her. It was so easy to help my mother. They could've cured her with medicine. They could've cared" Olive retorted, aware Malachite was trying to help but was still heartbroken. He did want Malachite to stay and be there but Olive was thinking angrily instead of logically. He was in a emotional wreck by the time Malachite arrived so the sorcerer had a lot to work with.
"I couldn't help her. I just stood there wanting her to come back. They said I couldn't do anything. I helped my mother die" Olive cried

Malachite paused as he kept hugging the boy hearing him cry. He paused as Olive admitted it was his mother.
"I'm sorry you lost your mother. People can be very cruel in this world. Some caring more about money than people. But just know you have a friend in me. If you want to talk, or just take your mind off it for awhile." said Malachite.
He paused as he heard he upset and he felt bad for the boy. He wasn't sure if he was going soft or losing his touch. But that didn't matter to him. He just wanted to help Olive.
"It wasn't your responsibility to help her. It was the doctors. And they failed. Don't blame yourself. This wasn't your fault. Your mother wouldn't want you to and I don't either." said Malachite.

Malachite was comforting him. Olive never knew he would need this but he did. Olive never knew he wanted this but he did. The mentions of his mother made it a bit better, that Malachite was sorry that she was no-more and it was unfair to have her gone. Finally, someone who understood. Someone who would care for him. A friend who would be there. Olive slowly began to calm down but was still crying. His mom was too good to leave this world. Why? Why him above all else? Olive looked up at Malachite who was still talking and was relieved that he was not assuming him as weak. That would bruise Olive's ego over everything. Surprisingly Olive was glad he had Malachite as a friend not because of his leadership just simply because Olive was lonely and wanted a friend from anywhere.
"I know my mom wouldn't want me to blame myself. I do though. I don't have anyone else to blame. The doctors failed their job but that's what happens. I can't blame germs cause they aren't alive. Who can I blame?" Olive responded back, sounding a bit calmer but still upset. Tears still poured as he said the next sentences "I'm glad you're here. I can't do this anymore. I've been so alone"

Malachite kept hugging the boy hoping he was helping even just a little. Olive seemed to calm down a little so he was sure he'd helped him some. Then Olive spoke again and he listened.
"The disease is what's to blame. It is alive since it infected your mother. And the doctors who failed your mother. That's what you can blame if you wish. But it was a tragedy Olive." said Malachite.
He smiled as Olive said he was glad he was here saying he was alone. Malachite hugged him a bit tighter at that.
"I'm glad I'm here too. But you're not alone anymore. This army will protect you. But I'm your friend Olive. I won't let you be alone again. I can make the arrangements that you room with me now. I used to room alone but there's room for you. If you want to room with me." said Malachite.
He smiled knowing they were on the right track. He knew it would take time for Olive to grieve his mother but he would be there for him when he could.

Malachite's comfort was something Olive enjoyed. Out of all of them, Olive was happy with this man the most. He felt the man genuinely care about him, if the tightening of Malachite's hug meant anything, Olive smiled tears stopping a bit. He was definitely on the right track with this guy. Olive wasn't ready to let go but he definitely felt better about talking about his mother. Olive nodded as Malachite did in fact say that he had every right to blame the disease and doctors, saying the disease was alive(Well there goes the little education Olive thought he had) and the doctors did fail their job which was something to be upset about. Olive breathed heavily, the crying being hard to do so.
He looked up almost immediately when Malachite replied that he wasn't alone, not anymore. Malachite swore to protect him, make sure the army protected him, that he was someone Olive could trust. Olive smiled, giving the indication that the young teen believed him. Olive smiled wider, hearing Malachite was willing to share rooms with him so they could be together. Olive nodded quickly, happiness coming from his voice "Yeah! I would really like to room with you. I trust you. You're a good friend"

Malachite smiled glad he was helping him realizing he was still hugging him but didn't move. He didn't want to move anyway. When Olive grinned he couldn't help but grin as well as Olive said he'd like to room with him.
"I'll make the arrangements then. Just know you're not alone. I'll always be your friend. So whenever you feel sad come talk to me alright. I'll listen, talk, or if you don't want to talk we can just watch a movie or play a game to keep your mind off it." said Malachite.
He paused as he began to worry about Olive. His mother was dead and social services might be looking for him. Especially if he didn't have any family.
"Olive? Do you have any family? Your father? Uncles? Aunts? Cousins? Aunts? An Uncle? I don't want you to go but the government might try to put you in the foster system since you're not 18 yet. I would hide you if necessary if they learned you were here. They can't take away what they can't find." Said Malachite.

Olive smiled, tears starting to stop, he was extremely happy. He wasn't alone anymore. He was with Malachite, his friend, his best friend most likely and he was going to room with him and Olive would finally have someone to hang around with or talk to. He liked the others but Malachite just gave so much more effort and kindness. Then the age-old question popped up. Did he have anyone for family? Olive's smile vanished and a somewhat scared frown was replaced. What would he do now? The social services weren't looking for him, assuming he was dead, but what if someone from social services came by. Olive sadly shook his head "My dad's been gone too. He left me when I was one. My mom's parents are dead and my mom was a only child. I don't wanna get taken Malachite. They could be lookin' for me now. You're right" He clung even tighter, fear seeping through him now instead of sadness
"I'm scared. What if they take me away from you? I don't want to leave. Not now. Not ever" He admitted

Malachite smiled as he seemed to be happier as they talked. But then he seemed to get sad again as he mentioned social services coming as he felt Olive's hug get tigher and he hugged him in response. His feelings were starting to return. Feelings he thought he'd forgotten or made himself forget. He clenched his fists in anger hearing his father was gone.
"What kind of father abandons his own child." said Malachite.
He paused as he shook his head.
'They won't take you. I'll make sure if that." said Malachite.
He paused as he said he was scared and didn't want to leave as an idea popped into his head. He looked at him hesitantly before speaking up.
"There is a way. Adoption. I have money, I have magic. I can provide for you and I'm one of the leaders of this army. So I can help keep you safe from anyone who tried to hurt you or take you away from me. I mean from here." said Malachite.
He paused deciding to just not hold anything back.
"The truth is you remind me of my myself when I was a boy. My parents died when I was young. All I had was my best friend. But he betrayed me. Thanks to my magic I was immortal but I was all alone. And then I met you and I felt connected to you. Like we were supposed to meet. I want to be your father but I'll settle for your friend if that's what you wish. I'll keep you safe even if I have to go to fight the entire world to do it." said Malachite.
He remained silent, not sure of his answer but he wanted to keep him safe no matter what Olive decided.

What kind of father abandons his own child?
A crappy one is what Olive instantly thought. Olive never understood why his father was never around, why his father didn't want anything to do with a wife let alone a child. It was as if Olive's so acclaimed father just wanted his mother simply because she was pretty. It made Olive angry above all else. It didn't really matter though since it brought him back to the problem at hand and held onto his only protection, Malachite, with tight hugs
Olive did give a puzzled look at Malachite as he swore to not let Olive leave without him saying something about it. How would the magician do that? Then Olive's private answer came. Adoption. Legally it would work since Olive had no family and social services was more than willing to give up on a lost cause kid. Plus it legally meant he had a family to be around. The thought caused Olive's eyes to perk up in delight. A family. One that wouldn't harm him.
Olive was extremely shocked and flattered at Malachite's final confession. The magician did what he did because he cared for Olive and related to him. Malachite too was a orphan at a young age and had only one friend who betrayed him, then Malachite got magic but it left him immortal and alone. The meeting between malachite and Olive caused the sorcerer to feel and care about someone again. Enough to be a father too. Enough to love Olive like a son but more than willing to be called friends. Olive's thoughts were filled with knowledge, shock, and more importantly extremely touched emotions. If he accepted Malachite as his father, Olive wouldn't be so lonely even though Malachite was ok being friends.
Olive's smile was full of overwhelmed emotions and acceptance, eventually though Olive spoke "I never had a dad before. I think I would really like you as my dad. You've done so much for me. You've helped me out and were my friend when those scumbag robots made fun of me. I would accept you as my dad for sure"

Malachite smiled as Olive went from puzzled to shocked to happy as he finally spoke. Malachite grinned wrapping hims arms around him hugging him again.
"I never had a son before either. So this will be new for both of us. But I know I don't want to lose you again. And if it were up to me I'd use my magic to keep you safe from everyone. But outside of the armies no one knows about us so that would bring attention we don't want yet. So I'll do this the legal way. It will take awhile but I know I want you in my life as my son and my friend. I won't let anyone hurt you. They'll have to go through me first." said Malachite.
He felt happier than he had in a long time. Although his fate was now tied to Facilier and his friends with that deal he made with Facilier. He wondered what Facilier's "Friends" wanted but for now, he was content to have his magic and now his new son.

Olive was also happier than he ever had been in a while. He was with a family now and he was a son to his good friend Malachite. He never felt so happy. He hugged on Malachite tightly, extremely happy with this idea. "Thank you Malachite... I mean Dad. This means so much to me" Olive said, tone very soft and flattered. Olive was proud to be serving Facilier now, because his dad was now this big superior leader and he was no longer alone. He was safe. He had a family. He was no longer a orphan, he was now surrounded by friends and loved ones.

Malachite grinned as Olive hugged him and he hugged him in return.
"Your welcome Olive. My son." said Malachite.
He grinned at that. He'd never thought he'd have children. He never found the right woman. But now he'd found a way to have a child on his own through adoption.
"I won't let you down Olive. You'll be mine legally soon and I'll make sure you stay safe." said Malachite.
He paused deciding he'd make Leonardo his bodyguard until Olive learned how to fight. He was older than Ask That Guy's brat Pinocchio but he wasn't going to take any chances of anyone attacking his son. He was sure Ask That Guy and his goons wouldn't hesitate to attack a child especially if they figured out it was his adopted son.

Olive smiled at that. It had been a while since someone called him their son. It made his heart more content than he allowed himself to let on. That said, he did show tons of satisfication and happiness as he spoke with Malachite. He too never thought he would possibly have a father as kind as Malachite was. He did though. He felt that luck was finally catching up to him.
"I'm sure you won't Dad. I trust you. Really. Now that I have you, the other armies won't have me either" Olive said, positively, enough to sound far more optimistic than he had before. He then thought hard about it and realized that this seemed like a unlikely pair the two of them would be but the boy couldn't care less. He breathed and responded "I'm glad I came to this army. I found a dad and people I trust"
