(January 2nd. Morning. Closed to Jasmine & Maleficent.)
Jasmine walked into the living room. She saw she was alone for the moment. Critic, Chick, and the others had tried to teach them basic things like the television and the fridge. It all seemed so odd to her. Not to mention finding out you're a fictional character in this universe. She didn't believe her life and adventures were fake. They were real.
"Aladdin why did I get sent here alone? Why can't I be back home with you, with everyone I love?" said Jasmine.
She then paused worried someone like Saleen or Sadira would try to make him love them. Or worse what if everyone thought she was dead?
"Aladdin I'll find a way back to you. Somehow." she whispered.
She hadn't noticed she'd begun to cry as she wiped the tears from her eyes. She didn't know when someone else would show up.
Like Jasmine, Maleficent also assumed that she was alone. She didn’t mind it all that much – being by herself was a trend that had begun when she was a child. It had ended briefly when she had come across Diablo and made the raven her pet, but now that he was gone, she was on her own again.
As she stepped into the room that the Critic referred to as the living room (the name made no sense to Maleficent; you lived in all the rooms in your house), she became conscious of another person whispering.
“Aladdin I’ll find a way back to you. Somehow.”
Maleficent frowned; the name was unfamiliar to her. She turned to one side and saw that she had company, the woman the Chick had called Jasmine.
No, not just Jasmine. Maleficent’s mind reminded her. Princess Jasmine.
The fairy’s eyes narrowed; her experiences with royalty had rarely been pleasant in the past.
“Hello.” The greeting held all the warmth of a winter day. “Do forgive me if I’m interrupting, Princess.”

Jasmine turned seeing Maleficent and frowned. Of all the things to be annoyed about she was annoyed about her being a princess?
"Hello." she replied, trying to sound cheerful.
The woman gave her the creeps but she might as well try to befriend her. After all, they were on the same side and who knows how long they'd be stuck here.
"It's alright. I was just thinking of home. I left a lot of people including my fiancee back there. I just hope there's a way back. Critic and the others are nice and all but it's not home. If you know what I mean." said Jasmine.
Although her own expression was far from pleasant, Maleficent felt her eyes narrow further when Jasmine frowned at her. The nerve. Did she even know who she was consorting with? Adding insult to injury, the princess then spoke to her in a faux-cheerful tone that made the fairy want to claw her eyes out. She knew that tone all too well, had been dealing with it for a good portion of her life – her greatest memory of it was that of Queen Leah asking her if she had been offended by their blatant snub. Jasmine began to prattle about her fiancé and how she missed her home.
Isn’t that cute? She thinks I care.
She was still using that tone. Well, two could play that game.
“I think so, yes,” Maleficent said with a slight nod of her head. “This place is nothing like where I come from. My home is an ancient fortress at the top of a treacherous mountain populated with goblins.”
Inwardly, the fairy smirked; if this princess was anything like what she imagined a child raised by those insipid Good Fairies to be, she would be horrified.

Jasmine could tell she annoyed the witch. She wouldn't cross the line however. As without Genie's help she wouldn't last long in a battle with her. But that wouldn't mean she'd let her walk all over her either. But when she heard of her castle and the goblins she was intrigued. It sounded a lot better than Mozenrath's Mamluks. At least Maleficent's army didn't fall apart easily.
"Your whole home filled with goblins? How very..."
She paused trying to think of the right word. She smiled as it hit her.
"Impressive. Most of the sorcerers I've ran into had eels, cat creatures, or undead zombies. But commanding a goblin army must take a lot of talent." said Jasmine.
She smiled, only realizing she indirectly complimented the sorceress. Well too late to take it back now. She sat down on a sofa turning to her.
"What's it like? Being evil your whole life. I was evil for a day once and the lust for power and control was nearly overwhelming." said Jasmine.
Maleficent raised an eyebrow at Jasmine’s response. The princess was made of tougher stuff than she had initially anticipated, and she found herself grudgingly impressed. The comment concerning other sorcerers intrigued her; the only other magical creatures she had come across were the Good Fairies.
“Other sorcerers?” she echoed. “You have many where you come from?” The (unintentional?) compliment did not go unnoticed either. “Tell me about it.” The fairy rolled her eyes, thinking of her idiotic minions back at the Forbidden Mountain and briefly forgetting that she was in the company of a princess. “It wouldn’t be so bad if they weren’t complete imbeciles.”
Jasmine’s next words wiped whatever positive emotions Maleficent might have been feeling away.
“I wouldn’t know.” The chill crept back into her voice. “I wasn’t born evil, therefore I haven’t been evil my whole life. What’s it like having everything you've ever wanted given to you on a silver platter?”

"Well there's was Jafar. He's a lot like you. Only his cape is red and black, and his staff is gold with a serpant shape. He even had a pet bird of his own who joined us after Jafar died. Then we had Mozenrath, Mirage, Chaos, Sadira, and Saleen became our main sorcerers who attacked us." said Jasmine.
She paused hearing the tone in Maleficent's voice. She hadn't always been evil.
"So you chose evil then. But why? I mean you could do so much good with your magic. Like you're doing now stopping Ask That Guy and helping get us home." said Jasmine.
She paused hearing her next statement, a frown appearing on her face.
"It was awful. I was trapped there. Everything was decided for me. What to eat, what to dress. I never got to make my own decisions. I even was going to be forced to marry a prince by my 16th birthday. Not until I ran away from home and met Aladdin did things begin to change. Aladdin found a genie and disguised himself as a prince to impress me. Jafar later stole genie and took over. But Aladdin helped us turn him into a genie. Since then I became more active in defending my kingdom, in helping to rule my kingdom, and helping our neighboring kingdoms. I'm not a helpless damsel in distress anymore. I'm a warrior and I intend to get back home and keep my kingdom safe. I just hope I have one to get back to." said Jasmine.
“Jafar?” Maleficent felt a smile cross her face at Jasmine’s description of the evil sorcerer. “He sounds like someone I would get along well with. The similarities are uncanny.”
“So you chose evil then. But why? I mean you could do so much good with your magic. Like you’re doing now stopping Ask That Guy and helping us get home.”
“It wasn’t an overnight decision, you know,” the fairy growled, feeling her blood pressure begin to spike. “I tried to use my magic to help others when I was younger, but it doesn’t work that way. That coupled with this –” She lifted a hand to further display her green skin, “– well, I’m sure you can imagine how well that went.” She paused before adding, “The only reason I’m not with Ask ThatGuy is because he would have made me his slave.”
When her annoyance had subsided, Maleficent listened to Jasmine’s tale and found herself feeling… strange. It wasn’t a bad feeling, per se, but it was foreign, and she didn’t like that at all.
“I see. Well, you certainly don’t sound like the helpless little girl I had thought you to be.”

When she heard Maleficent's story she got sad.
"I'm sorry if I offended you. I sometimes forget how judgmental people can be. A person shouldn't be judged by what they look like but what they do. I guess there's more I need to learn here besides training." said Jasmine.
As she finished her tale she heard Maleficent's response.
"Well with some training I can be even better. Aladdin and the palace guards wouldn't train me back home. They were afraid of hurting me I guess. So what's your story? You look like a powerful sorceress." said Jasmine.
“You are forgiven,” Maleficent expertly masked her surprise behind her familiar stiff, proper tone. People very rarely apologized to her, and when they did, they never actually meant it. They only did it because they somehow thought that repenting for their “crimes” would make her go easier on their punishments. Suffice is to say that it was a fruitless hope. But here she was now, getting a sincere apology, and from a princess no less.
“Fairy,” she corrected Jasmine. “I’m a fairy, not a sorceress.” She smirked. “But you’re correct about me being powerful.” She blinked in curiosity when her mind registered the princess’s question. Another first. She raised an eyebrow and joined her on the sofa to begin her story.
“I put a curse on a princess because her parents didn’t invite me to her christening. Before the sun set on her sixteenth birthday, she was to prick her finger on a spinning wheel’s spindle and die. Unfortunately, I neglected to factor the Good Fairies into my plan. They softened my curse to eternal sleep broken by True Love’s Kiss of all things and took her away to the forest. I trusted my idiot minions with the task of finding her, and they spent sixteen years looking for a baby.”
Even now, Maleficent felt her eyes narrow at the memory of the goblins’ incompetence.
“I sent my raven, Diablo, out to find her – which he did very quickly, I might add. I hypnotized her to fulfill my curse and set about capturing her true love, Prince Phillip. Just when it seemed I was going to have my revenge, those blasted fairies released him and helped him escape my domain. I did everything I could to stop him, even turned into a dragon, but he… defeated me anyway.”
Maleficent was too proud to say that she had been unable to prevent the attack on her only friend and that she had been killed on top of it all.

](ooc: Wow. This post was longer than I thought. xD)
"You're a fairy? I thought fairies were supposed to be mischevious but never heard of them being so powerful. I guess you can't believe in legends or fairy tales. Even if they are true so much could be rewritten or lost through the years." said Jasmine.
She paused listening to her story. She couldn't help but laugh at her minion's incompetence. Searching 16 years for a baby.
"What did you do for 16 years? I mean did the fairies somehow hide the princess from you so you couldn't use your own magic to find her?" asked Jasmine.
As Maleficent asked of her own life she nodded telling the tale.
"Well like I told you before I led a very sheltered life. But after countless suitors trying to wind my hand I got sick of it. Not one Prince Charming in the bunch if you get what I mean. Nothing but arrogant self centered jerks. After my father reminded me I had to marry in 3 days before my next birthday I knew I had to leave. I slipped away with Rajah's help. The next morning I found a poor boy who was hungry. I didn't know how life was out here. So I gave him the apple and the vendor grabbed me. And he was going to cut off my hand the penatly for stealing." said Jasmine.
She paused as she slightly shivered remembering that moment. Sure he was just doing his job but that had been the first time she'd nearly come close to dying.
"I tried to tell him I could get money from the Sultan but he didn't believe me. Aladdin and his pet monkey Abu were peastants iving on the streets. They saved my life and took me to safety at his place. But my escape was noticed. Jafar sent the guards telling them Aladdin had kidnapped me. They showed up at his place. We tried to escape but they were too fast. They arrested Aladdin. I tried to stop them and they told me Jafar was behind it. When I confronted him he told me he had Aladdin executed. I was devastated. I had started having feeilngs for him and he was gone.
But the next day a new suitor arrived calling himself Prince Ali. I wasn't impressed by him. He seemed like all the others. But that night he showed up and took me on a magic carpet ride. By the end of it we were watching fireworks. I then realized he was the same boy from the marketplace. But he lied to me and told me had been a prince all along and just been in disguise that day. I believed him. I returned home and told my father I wanted to marry him. But Jafar had hypnotized my father to try to get me to marry him. But Aladdin showed up claiming Jafar tried to have him killed. He then revealed Jafar was hypnotizing my father with his staff. He shattered the staff and freed my father from Jafar's control.
Jafar escaped and we didn't seem until the next day when he revealed he'd stolen Aladdin's genie. His first wish was to become the sultan and then his second was to be the most powerful sorcerer on Earth. He enslaved my father and me and banished Aladdin to the farthest corner of the Earth. Luckily he sent Carpet with him so Aladdin came back to stop Jafar. When Aladdin showed up he was nearly spotted. I even kissed Jafar to try to distract him but it failed. He trapped me in an hourglass, turned the magic carpet into a pile of thread, turned Rajah into a tiger cub, and turned Abu into a toy monkey. Aladdin wouldn't give up. He continued fighting Jafar. Jafar turned into a giant snake and nearly killed Aladdin. But Aladdin tricked him into using his last wish to become a genie. Jafar realized the genie's power was stronger and agreed to do it. Aladdin freed me from the hourglass and then trapped Jafar into his lamp. With Jafar trapped everyone else and the city returned to normal. Genie banished him into the desert and we thought we'd seen the last of him.
"But a couple months later he returned teaming up with a thief Abis Mal. They framed Aladdin for my father's murder when they really kidnapped him along with me, Genie, and everyone else. Then they tried to get Aladdin executed. Thankfully Jafar's parrot Iago turned on him freeing Genie. Genie rescued Aladdin from the execution and us from our prison. We confronted Jafar and Abis Mal. Abis Mal was taken out of the fight easily but Jafar was harder. He attacked us with his full strength. Iago finally defeated him pushing Jafar's lamp into a pool of lava destroying Jafar and ending his reign of terror for good.
But other sorcerers and monsters have popped up to fill the void left behind by Jafar. They've tried to kill us and enslave our kingdom. We've defeated them all every time. But they keep coming back. I just hope Aladdin and the others can keep Agrabah safe while I'm gone." said Jasmine.
She then sat down as she wondered if she'd ever find a way back to her home.
“In hindsight, I admit that would have been a good idea,” Maleficent remarked. “However, at the time, I foolishly assumed that my minions would be able to handle the matter themselves.”
A mistake I lived to regret, if not for very long.
She listened to Jasmine’s story, curious about the princess. Despite herself, she was a little impressed – if even half of what Jasmine said was the truth, she had managed to be more useful than every other princess Maleficent had ever met before, including Aurora.
“Most of the royals I’ve come into contact with meet the description of your ‘Prince Charmings,’” Maleficent observed when Jasmine had finished speaking. “In fact the black sheep seems to be… you.”
Inwardly, Maleficent frowned; there was that strange feeling again. Come to think of it, she was certain that she had felt it before. If only she could remember when and where.
Post by Princess Jasmine on Feb 7, 2012 18:46:08 GMT -5
"Unfortunately I agree. A few of our kingdom's allies are nice enough but most come off as rude or snobbish. I never want to become like that. So if I'm the black sheep i suppose it fits. After all not many royals marry commoners in the first place. So I guess you could say I'm a bit different than most royals." said Jasmine.
Here she was sitting with someone who most likely would have joined Jafar or any of the other villains who attacked her kingdom if they were in Agrabah. And yet Maleficent reminded her of Sadira. Both had chosen evil in the end only because they felt that had no other choice. A shiver went down her spine in thinking how powerful an enemy Sadira could have come if she had the time and power like Maleficent's at her disposal. But she'd sort of grown a respect for Maleficent after listening to her story. Sure she didn't agree with her actions but she could see her society had turned her own her dath path. Perhaps with time and a few good friends she could change like Sadira had.
She paused smiling at the irony. When she came in here she had feared Maleficent's power, and had the suspicion of her maybe turning against them. And now she wanted nothing more to be her friend. And yet he probably She saw she was in deep thought as well and decided to change the subject.
"How hard is it to learn magic? I mean could you teach me some?" asked Jasmine.
“I’m afraid it’s not that simple. In order to learn magic, you have to have magical blood running through your veins. So unless you do, I can’t teach you anything.”
Once the sentence was out of her mouth, a frown crossed her face. Jasmine seemed far too willing to accept all of this. Was this a trap of some kind? A trick to catch her off guard and make her reveal her weaknesses, only to have them exploited later? Maleficent chose her next words carefully.
“You seem to be very… unaffected by everything I’ve told you,” she said. Her tone was casual, but her eyes searched the princess’s face for a trace of deception. “Most people would have been horrified by the notion of killing an infant.”
Post by Princess Jasmine on Feb 7, 2012 20:56:45 GMT -5
"So I have to have magical blood? Well I don't think I do. I guess there's no way to tell for sure is there?" said Jasmine.
She paused hearing her ask how she was dealing with her story. She turned to the fairy responding to her.
"I don't agree with what you've done. But the fairies did weaken your curse and helped break it with Prince Phillip's help. Sure you've done awful things but so did a witch I know from back home. Three times she tried to steal my fiancee away from me. She sent a sand monster to destroy my kingdom. She even swapped lives with her magic making everyone believe she was the princess and I was the common thief. She also freed three ancient witches and nearly killed everyone I ever cared about. But in the end, she saved our lives and became my best friend. So do I hate what you've done? Yes. But I can't hate you." said Jasmine.
She paused trying to think of the right words.
"I can't hate you because you were never given a proper chance. To have a life. To truly be good. You were forced to be evil. But it's never too late. You can always change. Joining this side may not be your first choice. But perhaps one day you can be the good person you once were." said Jasmine.
