(OCC: Loki/La thread. February 29th. Around lunchtime, perfect for a little get-together? LOL)
The last day of the month. Said to be the most important day, since it was the only month where it was either 28 days or 29 days, considering the year. Humans were strange people. Far different from Loki's experience. Since Loki missed valentine's day he felt the need to court La today, for many many reasons. One was the fact she gave him so much interest in being in the army, another reason being she was quite beautiful and Loki never minded a pretty face, the third one was that she made him feel like he was important. Which was rare for him to ever feel, let alone with a woman. So he was extremely nervous to admitting this, feeling like he should just not take advantage and yet he knew he would regret it if he didn't. So after getting to know her for the past couple of weeks, Loki felt a date sounded perfect to introduce this possibility of affection to La.
Loki conjured a red rose, feeling a flower would make La feel good, at least that's what humans did in the movies Pinnochio pointlessly watched. He also conjured himself in a very nice tuxedo, the one he wore in Germany some time ago, and straightened his hair. Was he pushing it? Maybe but it would be worth the embarrassment to just impress La. He went to her room and knocked on the door, carefully hiding the rose behind him and smiled. Letting the silence be his weapon of courtmanship

La sighed still not used to these new clothes. She had enjoyed the looks from many of the men even the taken ones when she passed them. But she was told she could only wear her jungle attire around the house but she would need to start wearing modern clothing so she could walk around the town. She had settled in an all black attire of underwear, shorts, and a tanktop. She paused hearing there was a knock at the door. She opened it seeing it was Loki dressed up. She grinned at him.
"What a pleasant surprise. Would you like to come in?" said Queen La.
She thought he was trying to hide something from her behind his back but she figured she'd find out soon enough. She stepped aside taking a seat on the bed to let him come in and talk.

Loki was relieved she was glad to see him, eyeing the fact she wasn't wearing her normal jungle attire and instead wore modern casual wear. This made him feel if he didn't smooth talk her into a date, this suit was pointless for him to wear. Nevertheless, his insecurities were put to rest since La allowed him in and gave him the silent permission to speak. While aware she was putting two and two together about the rose, he took her hand and gently gave her the rose anyway. "For you dearest La" He said smoothly, with a smile of good-will and friendliness. He responded about why he had it quickly "Nothing is too good for a queen. At least that is what I feel"
He sat next to her on the bed, cautiously as if unsure what to say. He laid out his mental plan and spoke calmly "Dear La, I feel you and I have been fated to meet. When I spoke to you during that breakfast that Hawkins made, you spoke so fluently and with grace. I was so curious to know you and the more I see and talk to you, the more I wish to have more time to spend with you" It wasn't very hard to say this, but it felt hard since Loki wasn't used to saying honest things. Ever since he lost a previous relationship he felt a bit unsure about dating. But La made it feel right and he wanted to ask her properly. He took a breather and spoke again "I am aware I may look a bit too posh but you are worth so much that this suit is worth wearing. And this flower is just as beautiful as you are. If you are not too busy would you..."
He seemed to lose his nerve and he let out a awkward cough before saying the magic question "Would you like to have a nice date with me?"
La smiled as he pulled out a rose and she smiled seeing it. There weren't roses in Opar or the jungle where Tarzan lived. She hadn't seen it before and it was exquisite just like her.
"Thank you. What a beautiful and unusual flower. What's it called?" asked La.
She smiled as he joined her on the bed and spoke again. She listened to him before respond to him.
"Call it fate, destiny, luck. I don't care. I'm just glad we met. And I want to get to know you better too." said La.
She paused again as he spoke saying she was worth it to dress up for her. He paused as if getting nervous before asking her out. She grinned at that kissing him on the cheek setting the rose in a vase on the table.
"Of course I will. No one's given me flowers or done anything for me willingly. Just give me a moment." said La.
She stood up as her staff appeared in her hands as it began to glow. She raised it above her head as her clothes transformed into an elegant black sleeveless dress. She smiled as she turned to him as her staff vanished as she sent it back to her closet for safety.
"So where are we going?" asked La.

Loki was so nervous of her answer he immediately answered her question "It is a rose. Lovely name, simple though" He then smiled happily as La spoke, saying she was glad they met and responding she too felt the same way he did. It completely relieved him and made the trouble he went through worth it. Her kiss across the cheek caused him to freeze shocked at her response, but his shock turned into a big grin and his hand gingerly touched his cheek before snapping out of it and hearing La's answer.
She said yes. That caused Loki's thoughts to run wild with joy and he felt so happy he could dance. Luckily he sat there perfectly still and just allowed his smile to grow even bigger. He then patiently waited as La magically put on a lovely black dress. Loki's jaw almost dropped but the only show of Loki's approval over La's clothes was his smile sizing down and his eyes widening. Asgard above did she look magnificent, grantite he liked her in her jungle clothes but this would suffice perfectly
"You look beautiful" Loki said, almost forgetting La's question. He then looked out the window and stood up and responded "I heard of this lovely diner just in the heart of the city. It has plenty of lunch items so you are entirely free to eat whatever you wish my dear" He then offered his hand and responded, suggestively "Shall we?"
She smiled at his reaction to her kiss and seeing the grin on his face. Then she saw his reaction after she magically changed her clothes and chuckled.
"It's nice to know I have that effect on him." thought La.
She smiled as he said she was beautiful. She knew that but it was nice to be complimented.
"Thank you. You're very handsome yourself. I look forward to our date." said La.
She smiled as he said he had chosen a diner for them.
"You've thought of everything I see. Well then let's go. Before someone pulls us aside to work on the spell to free the others or off to train." said La.
She doubted anyone would but she didn't want to take the chance. She paused realizing she didn't want to be defenseless out there if necessary. So she walked to the closet grabbing her staff. She then transformed it into a bracelet that she placed on her wrist.
"Just in case. I doubt Critic's fools would attack us but Facilier and his goons definitely would. So we should be careful." said La.

Loki wasn't really concerned over his appearance, he never really was but it made him feel good that she enjoyed the way he looked anyway. Her expressions were full of confidence which attracted him to the point of just wanting to scoop her into his arms and just escaping this place but his inner logic overpowered his heart's desires and just allowed her to transform her weapon into a bracelet. He shrugged slightly as La mentioned he thought of everything before she did, for once not caring that he was the one to think of everything. Which reminded him to make sure to conjure his own staff in case anything went wrong, which Loki hoped it wouldn't.
"Knowing the fool he'd attack the first chance he would ever get. We should indeed be careful. Well then, let us be off, I wish to enjoy every minute. Which I will" Loki responded, confidence coming back and his hand on hers and soon they were leaving La's room and were out the door of Ask Thatguy's house. His eyes looked about for any strange activity as the two walked all the way to Chicago, luckily there wasn't but after what Loki had been through there was the everlasting paranoia in his mind. La was right. One could never be too careful. Even if they were determined to have a good time with their love interest.
"I'd prefer for us not to get attacked. But this war is unpredictable. But there's some good things about that." Said La.
She grinned at him as she took his hand and soon they were out of the house and on their way. Chicago looked as normal as ever. Although the weight of her crown not on her head felt odd but hopefully she'd get used to it. She smiled as they walking as she turned to him.
"So are we doing anything besides the restaurant? There's no battle plans or anything else planned today that I know of. So perhaps we could spend the rest of the day together. Unless you have other plans." said La.

Loki did agree with La's reasoning for taking a weapon. It was unsafe around here, one needed to be prepared. So he took her hand and left the house, when they got to the city it did look like the typical earth city he was aware of. At least from New York's standards. Loki turned to her, seeing she asked a question and responded "No. I have no other plans. We can do whatever you wish. My day is all for you, my dear queen la" Loki was determined to spend all of his time with her. He was going to make this day perfect in everyway. Whether be forcefully or naturally, Loki wanted La to be happy. She was allowed to do whatever as long as it didn't get him or her killed.
La grinned as he said they had no other plans as they walked around.
"Then let's spend the whole day together. Or as much as we can before we get called to look for the cure or train or whatever." said La.
She was still adjusting to being ordered around. She was a queen after all. But she had chosen to join this army not form her own after all.
"So where are we headed? If it's all the same to you I'd prefer to eat outdoors. I am a jungle girl after all. I tend to eat outside when I can. I'm just to used to the breeze and the smells. It's different than from Opar in my world but it does make me feel a little better." said La.

Loki nodded in agreement again, like La the god had a few minor problems of being bossed around. He was probably more powerful than any of them combined but to be fair to Ask Thatguy he was not a annoying twit like Captain America or Nick Fury was. And also, he had La to take care of along with Pinnochio, so that was a plus. He then responded with a chuckle at La's question of prefering to eat outdoors "Well the diner we're going to has a outdoor deck for people who would prefer to eat outside, I had a feeling you would prefer that since you are far from home"
Eventually the two went to the diner, and the waiter was quick to notice Loki due to his rather impressive style. The waiter, due to Loki's earthly look, didn't really remember who Loki precisely was and so assumed him as one other person to wait on "Hi there sir. Table for two?"
"Yes. Outside. Thank you" Loki responded, due to La being here he was in a good mood and sounded as such.
"Of course! Right this way!" The waiter responded, and Loki looked to La with a grin as the two followed the waiter.
La smiled as they headed in glad they were eating outside. She didn't mind eating inside if she had to. But she preferred to eat outside. Soon they followed the waiter and took a seat at a table outside. She grinned as she glanced at the menu. She had no idea really what she wanted. She usually just ate fruit or hunted animals in africa for food. She looked at Loki.
"Any suggestions on what to eat? I'm not really used to food here. I usually just eat what they give us back at the house." said La.

Loki was also unsure what to have here. This was a place to get used to for the both of them. He saw tons of items, from meat, salads and desserts to fruits, cookies and appetizers. Loki looked both at the menu then at her. Eventually though, Loki gave her a assuring smile and responded "I heard from one of the other solders that the steaks here are quite delicious. That and their um what did that fool call it? Ah! A fruit salad. Strange things these mortals have"
It wasn't easy to learn mortal things. No wonder Thor had a rough time accepting his fate of perminantly staying here, even if it was a lie Loki made before. The god of lies couldn't bother understanding these weird items and foods. Well, here's to hoping they were good to eat and not just random things the humans were making, it would just prove to Loki that humans just couldn't depend on themselves
"Alright. That sounds good. If the other members like it we should at least try them." said La.
And a fruit salad she wasn't sure what that was but something made out of fruit had to taste good.
"I agree. Perhaps when we take over we can have some good and exotic foods made for us." whispered La.
She didn't want anyone to overhear and think they were crazy. The last thing they needed was attention. She turned to the waiter as she ordered steaks, fruit salads, and water not sure what sodas were exactly. The waiter left as she turned back to Loki and grinned. She smelled the fresh air and grinned. This date was off to a very good start.

Loki nodded in agreement, seeing no reason to not trust a soilder's word on food. He wasn't some child anymore, he could at least try the good and see how he liked it. Besides, Jim used mortal food before and it was quite good. So what's the worst that could happen? The god smirked at the idea of having good and exotic food given to them once they took over. "A idea that is certainly a good one, La. I think I can agree to that"
The waiter left to get both orders of steaks, fruit salads and water. Having encounters with Stark taught him that liquor and soda were other strange liquids the humans were into. Maybe more than water. It baffled him. His attention on matters of mortality didn't matter the minute La started smiling at him. She was happy. He was content with her being happy. The god wanted her to enjoy herself. After all, that was what a couple did, try to make each other happy. Loki spoke after a little while "Do you still need assistance with making yourself immortal again dearest? I would be willing if you do"
