“It’s nice to meet you as well, Patch,” Maleficent said politely. That strange feeling came again – he still didn’t seem to be frightened of her. It was downright odd.
The fairy was pulled from her thoughts when the Critic began explaining what a film was to her. She listened intently, determined to understand, and found that the explanation was not as difficult as she had anticipated. It was an odd notion, the idea that she wasn’t entirely real, merely created for human entertainment. Was that why they weren’t afraid of her? Because they knew that she could be defeated?
A new idea entered Maleficent’s mind.
“I wonder –” She tried to keep her tone casual, but her gold eyes were filled with urgency. “– have any of you seen a raven since coming here? He’s about this big –” She gestured with her hands, “– with black feather and pink patches around his eyes? He’s my… pet.”
It was a bit of a long shot, but if Ask ThatGuy had been able to bring her here, why not Diablo?

Having come from an Arabian time centuries in the past while fictional she had never heard of films. So she was just as confused as Maleficent was.
"But don't some books already have pictures?" asked Jasmine.
XXXX
Nani looked at them in confusion. Who didn't know what films were? Unless were these two from another time?
XXXX
"We haven't seen one. Maybe he'll show up later. We don't know how many characters he pulled out of the tv." said Nostalgia Chick.
She paused as she realized they would have to help Maleficent, Jasmine, and some others adapt to the 21st Century. This would take some time. She hoped Ask That Guy's group wouldn't attack for awhile.
"Here let's show you what we mean." said Nostalgia Chick.
She walked into the living room motioning for them to follow her before stopping at a tv and pulling out some dvds.
Nani, Jasmine, and Tender Heart followed her into the living room.
Nostalgia Chick turned to the group showing them Sleeping Beauty, all 4 Lilo and Stitch films, the Aladdin trilogy, the Care Bears films, the Matrix films, and the 101 Dalmatians films.
"You see you're all fictional characters to us. We grew up watching your stories. We play them on the television which shows us your lives as if we were actually there." said Nostalgia Chick.
XXXX
"Wait. Then you know about Aladdin, Jafar, my life in Agrabah, everything? So it's a type of magic? You have a genie make this?" asked Jasmine.
XXXX
"Not exactly. They're just made with modern technology. Perhaps we should show you one. Critic, Cinema Snob. You want to watch a film?" asked Nostalgia Chick.
"I'm game for anything. Besides these people need to know more about our lives in order to deal with it" Cinema snob commented causually. Cinema snob looked to Tender-heart, Jasmine and Nani and replied somewhat sarcastically "Alright guys you wanna know what a movie is well we'll make sure you get to know that" The Cinema snob was kinda impatient to the fact these people were characters and had no idea what was going on. It wasn't really helpful to have soilders have no idea. Which made him not like the fact Critic didn't really explain much
When Maleficent asked her question he shrugged "Nope. Sorry haven't seen your pet" XXX
Nostalgia critic replied gently to Jasmine "Some do but mostly it's movies. Chick, Snob and I will pick a movie to see what we mean. Just sit back and hang on" Critic whispered kindly to Chick "Quick move Chick, Thanks. I hope someone picks a good film please. Any good film just make sure it's something we all can tolerate especially me" Critic didn't give a penny less about showing them bad movies and them not understand... It would be torturous to even watch a movie to teach these people about them. XXX
Patch smiled then looked to the DVD cover of 101 Dalmatians in both awe and sadness. He hated to admit it but he really missed seeing more like him now. He did miss his siblings but mostly he missed his mom and dad. If only he was home now. Grantite he made friends here but he wanted his mom to coddle him and tell him things would be alright XXXX
Lilo patted Patch and then picked him up and sat next to Nani. She was excited to maybe see herself on TV. She saw other movies but now she heard she was in one it really sparked her interest. XXX
Morpheus sat down and waited. He was the first person ever to appear in chicago and the first to join Critic other than the cinema snob. He was told the whole story and wasn't really confused or angry by it. The only thing bugging him was Maleficent, the more she was around the more mysterious she was. It made him not trust her at all. Oh if only Splinter were here, he was so easy to talk to
She glanced at the DVDs that the Chick had lain out. One of them, she was surprised to see, featured herself in dragon form, fighting against Prince Phillip. A frown crossed her face – what should have been her crowning moment of glory had quickly turned into her downfall. It wasn’t a moment she liked to be reminded of, and she didn’t particularly want to have to see it again, especially with all of these other people watching with her.
“Why don’t you show us this one?” Maleficent suggested, grabbing another DVD at random.
"Eh the first matrix. I like it" The Cinema Snob said. He honestly was bored anyway so he was very open compared to normal. So boredom made him just not give a crap. Besides the movie wasn't bad. He kinda liked it XXX
Critic wasn't caring about the matrix films either so he nodded, pleased that maleficent picked something he actually had a liking for. He took a seat next to Morpheus who only looked at first in shock then said in curiousity "I would like to see how I look like in this film of what you three speak of" XXX
"After that can we see one of the movies starring me, stitch and nani?" Lilo asked. She would prefer if they did it now but any movie was fine as long as she got to see what she looked like on film. She and Nani watched movies of other people so it was a stretch to actually see them on that type of thing XXX
Patch yawned a bit before just waiting for the TV to start. "I may not know about me being in a movie or movies at all but I do know about TV shows though" In Patch's time films were only at the theater and only TV shows were the entertainment Patch was raised and used to so the term movie was foriegn to him.
Maleficent was pleased that her selection had been a good one in the eyes of the Nostalgia Critic and the Cinema Snob. She handed the DVD case to the Critic and glanced around for a place to sit down. After a few seconds, she tentatively took a spot next to Patch and Lilo, mostly because the two of them seemed to like her the most out of everyone else here (well, except for the Critic, she supposed). Patch’s comment about TV ignited her curiosity once more.
“TV? Is that like film?”
(OOC: I’ve never actually seen the Matrix movies, so… yeah.)

(OCC: No worries Maleficent or Chick. We'll simply just let the plot go on)
As the movie began to play, Critic just couldn't help but roll his eyes at the title starting off like a computer. Really? We could've done more computer stuff later in the film but why the hell am I complaining? When Maleficent asked about Film being like TV he interupted again and said "Kinda. It's only shorter time spans and it's has tons of stories to tell" He nodded to Patch in respect. XXXX
"Hey critic. The pup was asked the question not you" Cinema snob mumbled as he was to the other side of the nostalgia critic. God, Critic liked to be the center of attention to everything. One of the many reasons he was so annoying. The critic responded with a small glare XXX
Lilo just watched as the movie progressed, Neo was getting to meet morpheus and then morpheus made his long and inspirational speech. She looked to morpheus who simply smiled, as if he was witnessing a long lost memory XXX
"What the Critic said, it's different but similar" Patch replied as best he could. The Critic interupting him didn't annoy the pup. All he was concerned about was the fact the movie had such a long plot and so many characters to follow. The movie progressed to neo going into the real world to be discussed of the matrix origin
“Thank you, Patch,” Maleficent said, smiling at the puppy and giving the Critic a pointed look.
The movie began to play, and Maleficent felt her eyes widen in amazement at what she saw. It was almost as though she was right there as all of this was happening, and yet she was merely a spectator peering in at the events through a little box. It was strange, and at the same time wonderful. When Morpheus appeared on the screen, she froze and quickly turned to the real Morpheus, almost as though she were making sure that he was still in the physical world with them.
"I agree, unbelievable isn't it?" Morpheus said kindly to Maleficent. True he didn't trust her but the movie somehow brought all the people together in a way kinda like at his ship. Speaking of which the movie then showed after some progress in the film he was shown again but training kung-fu with Neo and although winning quite a lot, Neo did succeed. Morpheus couldn't help but chuckle XXXX
"I wonder how the hell he got to you? You kept getting his ass handed to him" Cinema snob whispered to Morpheus. Cinema snob was watching the movie again and he actually found it enjoyable but some of the plot was complex so he was aware you really needed to pay attention. XXXX
The Critic knew he needed to stop what he was doing when Maleficent gave him her look. He simply nodded and looked back to the screen. The movie progressing wasn't taking a lot of time from Critic's point of view. He wasn't concerned though, as long as he didn't watch the care bears he'd be just fine. XXXX
Lilo awed at the movie. It had so many things to like, the setting, the characters and the story it was trying to get across. Looking to Morpheus, she just widened her eyes and commented "Morpheus is a movie star! A real movie star!" XXX
"Yeah! You look so cool with that huge black leather jacket" Patch commented, wagging his tail in delight. He couldn't believe one of his friends was starring in a film. Well not as surprising as being a star himself but it was just as cool to see his ally be in this so-called movie
Linkara walked into the room "Hey Maleficent" and pulled out a newspaper. Slowly it dawned on him, he had just said hello to one of the great disney villains. "Oh. My. God" he stared around the room. "Critic. Why are there cartoon characters in your room? This is not a crack fantasy is it?"
Post by Nostalgia Critic on Jan 29, 2012 15:29:53 GMT -5
Oh Crap. Linkara arrived late. Quickly, Critic took Linkara to the kitchen with a glance to the cinema snob to distract the others. While he took Linkara to the kitchen he replied "Look, they're all here cause of Ask Thatguy. I thought I called you about that... OK look it doesn't matter. Just play along alright? These people need to get home and the only way to do that is to defeat Ask Thatguy and get his device. We need to let people stay calm though!"
Things with Linkara's late arrival just made things a bit more hard to deal with. And all he wanted to do was to not have anything to do today XXXX
Cinema Snob resisted the urge to facepalm at Linkara's late arrival. Nevertheless he just calmed the others down by commenting on random scenes "Hey look there's the final battle! It's so awesome don't you think?" Oh god. If Linkara had no information on this he would kill the critic. So irresponsible XXX
Patch at first saw Linkara but paid more attention to Cinema Snob and his comments. Lilo and Morpheus took one look at him but instead of Patch focusing on the TV again, They looked at each other in confusion.
"Yeah, my answering machine was destroyed when you mentioned Ask that guy. Okay Critic, I will not say anything about these characters. In fact, I'll stay out here until Night time. No need to get in the way eh?" There was a hint of sarcastic in his voice, he took this rather well. "No, I tell a lie. You destroyed it, I don't know what happened because I told you that I liked Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. You were very mature about it."
Peeking into the room, he saw several other cartoons Lilo, Patch, Tender heart. Well, a care bear watching a matrix movie. It's a small world.
Post by Nostalgia Critic on Jan 29, 2012 16:07:49 GMT -5
Rolling his eyes Critic responded "Ok ok. I get it. You like the power rangers I don't. We both argued until one of us broke the line, we need to get the hell over that" At the sarcasm level of Linkara's voice made him even more irritated with him "Dude. I don't mean it like you have to leave. I mean like don't panic the kids and everything. When we're alone I'll tell you the details"
When he looked to the room when Linkara peeked he smiled a tad that everyone at the moment nobody was hearing him. Tenderheart still made him hate him. A scowl of annoyance crossed his mouth as he saw Tenderheart watch the movie. XXX
Cinema Snob saw the other two argue and look to the chick. He looked in a way that said Help me! He may have been the second in command but if the characters got curious things could get a little loud
"Fine, but this ain't goin to be easy." Linkara walked back in and sat by Cinema Snob. Looking briefly he tried not to think how many jokes about this he could make. Not limited to a Care Bear walks into a bar jokes.
Well, once everyone was gone, he was going to get some answers. Looking at the Snob he murmured "This is weird. And you are totally cool watching this with several fictional characters? "
(OCC sorry if Linkara is a bit OCC, It's quite hard to roleplay as him. And I really don't know what to do with him.)
At the sound of her name, Maleficent looked up and found that another human had joined them. His reaction didn’t surprise her; most people acted like that around her.
“I probably should care,” she mused. “But I don’t.”
She did raise an eyebrow when the Critic went up to him, trying to calm him down, it seemed. He was successful and glanced back at them. He scowled at the bear the Chick had identified as Tender Heart, confusing Maleficent. He seemed oddly cheerful, yes, but so far he hadn’t really done anything worth getting annoyed about.
