Maleficent's Plotting Thread

I've been doing some thinking about who Maleficent might ally herself with within the Critic's army. I already asked about Jasmine and Patch, but I'd like to elaborate a bit on the latter. Their situations are reversed - Patch wants to stand out, while I imagine Maleficent spent her childhood trying to blend in - but I think she'd be amused by and perhaps drawn to his mischievous nature.

This is in no way motivated by my desire to see Maleficent being friends with an adorable, cuddly puppy. Nope, not at all.

It's entirely up to you, of course.

Maybe a rivalry with Rita or Dark Nella?

I really think Morpheus would have a rough time trusting her but would eventually like her. Same goes with Splinter

The possible rivalries interest me, but I don’t know all that much about Dark Nella or Rita, so I have to look into them.

Okay, so at some point in the future (after the hostages have been recovered), I want Maleficent to get really hurt. Like "On Death's Door" hurt. I have several reasons:

1) To make her realize that she's not as all-powerful or indestructible as she likes to think.
2) To make her trust her allies a bit more.
3) To give her a rival/someone to pour her excess hate into, thus giving her a reason to be more invested in the war's outcome besides a simple desire to win - she'll want revenge.
4) I just think it would be fun to play. I'm imagining her being out of it to the point that she's hallucinating and having flashbacks about her defeat at the hands of Phillip.

So, what do you guys think? Good idea, and if so, any volunteers?

Sounds like a good idea. Maybe she gets hurt in the rescue thread by dark nella or black lantern spoony? Since she's fighting them both. Unless you want it to be a separate battle.

I'd like for this to happen once Chick, Morpheus, and Patch have been rescued, so a seperate thread. Not necessarily a battle - maybe a two-character thread like "Old Wounds" and she's found later.

Excellent!

She's used to being able to defeat humans in groups, so this will be a big shock. Of course, the humans she usually fights against have more primitive weapons compared to Critic and Ask ThatGuy's armies.
