“Ah’ll get yer meat and you’ll follow me feet.”
Name: The Tod (no real name)
Age: About 2
Where is this character from? The Plauge Dogs (movie)
Why did you pick him/her?: Dat accent
Personality:
The Tod is a true fox; he’s sneaky, cleaver and suave. He outwardly has a very laid-back demeanor, but for the fox, it always comes down to the bottom line: survival. Being a wild animal, he’ll do whatever it takes to live, even if it mean abandoning other animals. The Tod isn’t bad or immoral; he only does what he would do for himself to survive. For the most part, he’ll only help if it benefits himself, but can use his skills to aid others when it really doesn’t reward him. It’s difficult to get a read on what the Tod is planning and what exactly he’s expecting to get in return. He’ll make deals with other animals to reap the benefits and often times, his “partners” get the short of end of the stick and are none the wiser.
History:
Not much is known about the Tod’s past, other than his mother was killed by hounds. What can be assumed was that he was just spending his entire life out in the wild surviving just like any other fox. One day, he came across a killed sheep. After taking a few nibbles from it, he tracked down what killed it, curious. What the Tod found was two domestic dogs, one of them very big and strong. The Tod appeared to them and promised to show them how to survive in the wild and avoid the humans chasing after them, if the fox is allowed to eat some of their kills. The fox had a deal and stuck around with the dogs, Rolf and Snitter, on-and-off for a time, helping them hunt (as best he could, as they were pitiful hunters) and leading them out of the way of humans just in the nick of time.
After Rolf chased him off, the two dogs believed they were without the Tod’s help anymore, but the fox was actually still following them the whole time. The fox saved their lives by barking at a man who was try to shoot them and causing him to fall down from a tall cliff. The Tod helped them once again as Rolf and Snitter attempted to flee from the troopers to the sea. The fox would distract the men’s hunting dogs while Rolf and Snitter boarded a train leading to the shore. The fox expertly evaded the hunting hounds until he was bitten and wounded from behind. The Tod attempted to escape, but his wound proved his undoing and he was savaged by the hounds.
The darkness fell but then it lifted again. The Tod was somewhere new and unfamiliar. He wondered if the men took him there. So, ever the adaptive one, the Tod simply started making himself comfortable in the woods, living like any normal fox. He was surprised to find himself barely dodging a battle between two groups of mainly men and their guns. Spooked, the Tod started to leave the woods and turned to scavanging, eventually raiding trash bins behind one Ask ThatGuy’s house – to eventually be discovered.
Allies: Rolf, Snitter
Enemies: Hounds, men
Plans: I can see him being utilized for espionage, being a pretty unassuming-looking fox.
