Name: Zira
Age: Around 5
Where is this character from?: Lion King II: Simba’s Pride
Why did you pick him/her?:Scar/Zira owns half of my soul er, I like her character. This was the first time that any Disney villain had a canon (consenting, not being taken advantage of) love interest.

Personality: There are two sides to Zira. Being raised in the Outlands has made her every bit as cunning and ruthless as Scar. She has a perchance for bloodshed and the physical strength to back it up, qualities that make her both an excellent hunter and a worthy opponent. However, around those she cares for (namely her mate and cubs), a (marginally) gentler side, more affectionate side is prone to coming out. Even Nuka isn’t excluded from this, though it comes much less frequently for him.
History: Zira was born in the Outlands, where her mother Nailah and the harsh climate taught her to be strong. These lessons came into place soon after her cubhood ended – unable to cope with the conditions in her increasing age, Nailah died, leaving her heartbroken daughter to fend for herself. Without meaning to, she wandered into the Pridelands – and straight into a certain dark-furred lion. Feeling a certain amount of pity for Zira, Prince Taka persuaded his father to allow her into the pride, something that Zira would never forget. Although she soon proved to be a capable hunter, the former Outlander was never quite able to escape the suspicious looks of her pridemates and the feeling that she was not wanted. Bitterness towards the other lionesses overcame her, and she was determined to prove herself to them.
She quickly became friends with Taka, and when they were older, the friendship evolved into a romantic relationship. The two lions acted as sounding boards for each other’s frustrations – in Zira’s case, the Pridelanders’ mistrust and the continued sufferings of her friends in the Outlands. Taka reassured her that when he was king, they would never go hungry again. This promise – and the possibility of someday being queen of the Pridelands – was something that pleased Zira to no end.
Unfortunately, it was Mufasa who was chosen to be next in line for the throne. Zira couldn’t believe it – Taka (now Scar) was obviously the better choice! Furious though she was, she couldn’t possibly imagine the anger brewing in her mate. Not until Simba’s birth did she realize the full extent of it.
Though Zira wasn’t privy to many of the details of Scar’s planned coup (something that had been planned so that she wouldn’t be at risk of exile or death should something go wrong), she had an idea of what was going to happen and thus was not surprised when news of Mufasa and Simba’s deaths reached the pride. While she was careful to put on a sad face for the other lionesses, Zira couldn’t hide her glee when she saw her mate assume the throne and welcomed the Outlander lions into the Pridelands.
Over the course of Scar’s reign, he and Zira had three cubs: two by birth (Nuka and Vitani) and one adopted (Kovu). In Zira’s mind, everything was perfect. She was blind to the slowly deteriorating Pridelands – lack of food wasn’t anything new to her, and she knew how to survive in such conditions. If it meant a little extra hunting, then so be it.
She was hunting when it happened. Her entire world turned upside down, and she hadn’t even known it until she and a group of lionesses loyal to Scar returned to Pride Rock. Somehow, someway, Simba had returned. While retrieving her cubs, she saw quite plainly that everything she and Scar had worked so hard for was in shambles. Including Scar himself – upon seeing her mate’s dead body, Zira broke down as she never had before. It was with her children huddled at her side and Scar’s head cradled between her paws that Zira and her followers were banished to the Outlands once more.
Zira’s bitterness intensified in exile. She became obsessed with figuring out how to dispose of Simba and put her own son on the throne. This – and the welfare of her cubs – was all that concerned her until one dark night, when she awoke in the mysterious land of Chicago…
Allies: Scar; Ask ThatGuy’s army (grudgingly)
Enemies: Nostalgia Critic’s army, especially Kiara and Sarafina
Plans: A reunion with Scar. General badassery. Possibly acquire a case of aquaphobia.
Sample Post (First character needed others are entirely up to you): The first thing Zira noticed about this strange new world she now found herself in was how cold it was. There was a strange, powdery white substance covering the ground and falling from the gray, cloud-filled sky. Curious, Zira glanced up to watch it and found herself surrounded by tall… things that reminded her inexplicably of Rafiki’s Tree of Life, though it was clear that these were not trees.
What was this place? How had she gotten here? The last thing the tan-furred lioness remembered was falling asleep in her den. Her nice, warm den…
Shivering, Zira looked around for a place to stay and settled on a nearby cluster of trees – there was no telling how long she would be stuck here.
