You Can't Run From Us (Zod)

(ooc: August 28th. Evening.)

He had avoided them for nearly six days since his blow up that morning. He'd spent all of his free time with Zaruno and making new friends there. And avoiding Ursa and Zod when possible. And he'd come to Hawaii for a vacation. The place was quite beautiful. He lay shirtless on a chair wearing only a pair of blue swimming trunks. He was getting a nice tan before maybe going for a swim later. He paused clutching his ears hearing a loud noise before he was pushing down into the chair and there was Ursa and Zod in front of him. With Ursa holding a strange device.

"What is that?" thought Non.

Non glared at them both as the ringing in his ears had subsided but was still very faint.

"You think I want to talk to either of you? This army mind wipes and deages a powerful enemy. Then you two volunteer to be his parents. And then continue to avoid him and treat him like the enemy. I've been more of a parent to him in the past few days than either of you how. He keeps thinking he's angered or upset you somehow. I've come to care quite deeply for that boy. Clark Kent is no more. I'm honored to learn you used all of our names together to make his names. So in a way I feel like he's my child too. And if you two won't start treating him better then he will only have one parent. Me." said Non.

Ursa smirked as their plan worked. They had followed Non here managing to get here. She was currently wearing a one-piece blue swimsuit to blend in better. This device had been recently created used to weaken those with enhanced hearing in the other armies for surprise attacks. And she had chosen to test it out today. She pulled out earplugs from her ears and smiled.

"Had to mess up your hearing temporarily so you wouldn't hear us coming. We need to talk." said Ursa.

Her smirk fell from her face at Non's rebuke and she froze. It was true. She had been amused to have an alternate version of Superman brainwashed to work for them. But hearing Non's words that their son Zoruno saw them as his parents and that he'd failed them somehow. She paused looking to Zod and back at Non as she turned off the device and sighed.

"You're right. I was so angry at what Superman did to us back in our world. Defeating us and throwing us into the Phantom Zome. Then that clone attacking us and his lover rescuing him and hurting Zod and some of the others. But you're right. He's not either of them. He's not even Superman anymore. Insano and the others used a mixture of magic and science and it was experimental. He was the first person they tested it on. There may not be a way to reverse it so in a way we have killed a Superman. Zoruno is our son." said Ursa.

She paused dropping to her knees as she just realized it.

"I never thought I'd have a child of my own. And now I've taken one in and tossed him aside like he was nothing. I'm not better than my own parents. My father was a soldier, and my mother was a scientist. So busy helping others they had no time for a child. I practically raised myself." said Ursa.

[General Zod]

Like Ursa, Zod wanted to reconcile with Non. Non had grown attached to Zaruno and Zod felt shame for his lack of parenting. Zod had realized his errors, mostly due to witnessing other families and realizing his own responsibilities. It was affecting his trio and it made him feel lonelier than ever. Without Ursa, or Non, Zod felt like he was in the same spot he was once in. Alone and miserable. And he didn't want to be miserable. And he especially didn't want to be alone. So, he worked alongside Ursa to use the hearing device to keep Non busy. As he wore trunks and a bathrobe to fit into the vacation environment, he followed Ursa. He allowed Ursa to explain the situation before Non vented to them about their behavior. Zod spoke up, calmly "Non, you have every right to be angry with us. We had our own reasons for our behavior but it does not make your words any less true" Zod turned to see Ursa fall to her knees and he helped her up "It wasn't entirely your doing, Ursa. How can you be a good parent when you had no examples?" He turned to Non, replying insistently "You're right Non. The boy is not to blame for our behavior. He's not the same man who fought us and he's young too" Zod helped Ursa before turning to Non with a pleading face "I already lost you once, Non. I don't want to lose you again" He pleaded "If you must punish me, so be it. But give Ursa the chance she deserves" He looked down "I can't change what I did but I can do better. And I will if you will allow me to"
