Name: Captain James Conrad
Age: 28
Where is this character from?: Kong: Skull Island
Why did you pick him/her?: Purely for fun reasons.
Picture:
Personality:
James is a determined and natural leader, but he's humble enough to be a team player. He doesn't mind letting someone take the lead but he will step in if people are in danger or things are chaotic. He's sarcastic, focused, cynical, world-weary, logical and has a low tolerance for incompetency. He's also kind-hearted, selfless, courageous, ambitious and extremely adventurous. He is cultured, highly intelligent and has a strong lust for life and the world around him. Despite his cynical nature, he always believes in the best of people.
History:
James Conrad was born in the outskirts of London, just a few years before World War II. He was extremely close with his father but sadly, his father went missing after flying a plane in enemy territory during World War II. He, and his mother, were forced to rely on his grandparents until his mother got a job as a schoolteacher. Determined to honor his father, he went into the British Special Forces, becoming a specialist in tracking. He served the SAS division for a few years before he got disillusioned when a rescue of a seven-year old girl refugee went horribly wrong. He was decommissioned from the SAS division. As such be became a tracker-for-hire, only taking clients that he trusted. He took some time off in Saigon, meeting William Randa and Houston Brooks, who hire him to track Skull Island. A rare island that both men wanted to discover for it's nature and wildlife. Or so he believed. He eventually befriended the photojournalist of the group, Mason Weaver and the army squadron assigned as military escort and service. Despite suspicions, the two played along with this mission, seeing nothing too dangerous yet. As the explosives designed to track the land blew, they were attacked by a exceptionally large ape. The ape attacked their ships and Conrad survived, along with Brooks, Weaver and members of the expedition. Through Conrad's patient nature, he lead his small gang of survivors to meet a World War II veteran Hank Harlow. Despite his eccentric tendencies, he was an expert on the land itself, knowing the ape that attacked them. That ape was called Kong and the bombs that went off caused many skull-crawlers, a predatorial reptile to come from their watery caves to attack. Conrad eventually reunited with Packard, the military leader, and his group of people including William Randa. They all eventually went into dangerous territory, despite Marlow's warnings, in order to rescue Chapman from Packard's orders. After encountering dangerous creatures called Leafwings and fleeing from stowaway Skull-crawlers, Conrad confronted Packard on his mission to rescue Chapman. Packard, despite being told Chapman was dead, was determined to destroy Kong. Weaver, and Conrad, told him that Kong only acted out of defense but Packard refused to believe it. Packard threatened to kill anyone who stood in his way, commanding his military allies to move forward with the plan despite their own reluctance to it.
Conrad and Weaver decided to confront Packard again after Kong bonded with them. As Kong got injured, Conrad slowly convinced the remaining survivors to turn against Packard. Before Packard can kill Kong, the Skull Devil which is the matriarch of all Skull-Crawlers awoke and fought Kong. Determined to rescue Kong and flee back home in safety, they fought alongside Kong to defeat the Skull Devil. Eventually, and after a harsh battle, they did so and fled Skull Island. Marlow was eventually reunited with his family while Conrad, and Weaver, were held in government housing for questioning. After they were sworn under oath, as well as required to join a witness protection program, Conrad returned to live in Saigon. Not wanting to involve his family in any danger. One day though, he awoke to find himself in America. Modern America. He was dumbfounded but due to his experiences on Skull Island, he wasn't entirely disbelieving to the strange and unnatural. He turned to see many people standing above him. Forcing him to make a choice. Join them willingly or be enslaved. Refusing to be a slave, Conrad agreed. If only to survive. He can hopefully learn to adapt and genuinely enjoy being in this army.
Allies: Mason Weaver, Hank Marlow, Houston Brooks, Kong, ATG Army
Enemies: Packard, Skull-Crawlers, Critic's Army, Facilier's army, Defiants
