Where is this character from? Dragonball GT (younger versions in Dragonball Z, & Super)
Why did you pick him/her?: for fun and drama. an android/saiyan hybrid bound to serve Dr. Gero and fight the other Z Warriors/armies.

Personality: He's loyal, friendly and protective. He's a bit of flirt often getting dates quickly but often get interrupted. Upon becoming Android 21 he uses these more to get what he wants. But he can be quite sinister similar to when Baby possessed him.
History: Goten is the second son of Gohan and Chi Chi. Like his main counterpart, he grew up best friends with Trunks. He trained with Chi Chi, and Trunks gaining the power to go Super Saiyan. He eventually shared this with Gohan who was shocked to see he'd gone super even younger than he had. Goten trains with Videl and Gohan for the upcoming Martial Arts Tournament. He competes in the kid division and ends up in second place losing to Trunks who talked him into losing if he gave him 3 toys Goten wanted. Goten and Trunks competed in the adult division disguised as Mighty Mask who they knocked out and replaced.
As the tournament progressed it was interrupted by Babidi and his henchmen. As they attacked Gohan and left most of the fighters left leaving only Mighty Mask, 18, Hercule, and a couple of other fighters. The other fighters were disqualified and Mighty Mask and 18 took out the other two leaving only them and Hercule. 18 defeated them by revealing they were two as they powered up to Super Saiyan to try to defeat her by splitting them in half revealing they were two people. They were disqualified and left.
Arriving at the battlefield they found two statues of Piccolo and Krillin. They accidentally knocked down a statue of Piccolo by accident. When Dabura was eaten by Majin Buu, they both return to normal. Piccolo regenerated thankfully and Vegeta reunited with them. He knocked out Trunks and Goten to keep them safe. Krillin and Piccolo took the boys away as Vegeta sacrificed himself in an attempt to stop Majin Buu which failed.
After waking up the two boys trained with Goku and Piccolo despite their sadness that Vegeta and Gohan were gone. But they learned the fusion technique. Unfortunately, Goku used up the last of his time on Earth turning into Super Saiyan 3 twice once against Majin Buu and one more to show it to Goten and Trunks. He said goodbye to his son and returned to the otherworld.
Goten and Trunks went into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to train more. Piccolo distracted Super Buu for as long as he could and brought them into the chamber. Unfortunately, Piccolo believed Gotenks was too weak and destroyed the door trapping them all inside. Super Buu escaped and by the time to the others returned Super Buu had eaten everyone at the lookout. Except for Dende who had escaped thanks to some help from Piccolo. Goten and Trunks teamed up with Dende and Gohan who arrived and was much stronger.
Goten and Trunks fused into Gotenks ready to fight Super Buu again but Super Buu absorbed them and Piccolo to get strong enough to take on Gohan. And when Goku arrived Gohan was absorbed making him even stronger. Together Goku and Vegeta fused into Vegeto and got absorbed to free everyone from him and turned him into Kid Buu. Goten and the others were revived by wishes on the Dragonballs and they gave their energy with the rest of the world to defeat Kid Buu with a Spirit Bomb.
Four years later Goten competed in a martial arts tournament. Goku revealed a boy named Uub was the reincarnation of Kid Buu and after fighting him they left to train. Both were disqualified from the tournament and Hercule won the tournament as usual. Many years later Goten was now 17 and going to high school. He was more focused on getting a date than training which led to some arguments with Vegeta who thought he was slacking off. He was left behind when Trunks, Pan, and Goku went into space looking for the Black Star Balls.
When they returned he was one of the many people Baby took over to get his revenge. Baby Goten fought Goku and Pan several times and helped Trunks get possessed leaving only Goku, Pan, Majin Buu, and Hercule to save the world. Goten was knocked out and only heard of the aftermath of Goku becoming a Super Saiyan 4 and defeating Baby. He apologized to Goku and Pan feeling guilty for getting possessed. He later helped the others fight off other villains including super 17 and the Shadow Dragons. But in the end, it was Goku who stopped 17 and Goku and Vegeta who defeated the Shadow Dragons for good.
Goten woke up in another world strapped to a bed. He was a prisoner and had been turned into a cyborg by Dr. Gero. One who was forced to obey him and like 17 and 18 he had a bomb in his chest. And a remote that could turn him off if he didn't do what the doctor wanted. Dr. Gero wanted to make Goku pay for killing his son so he brainwashed Goten by wiping his memories and making him thing Dr. Gero was his father. And even if the brainwashing was reversed Gero had a backup plan. Or file in this case as Goten would regain his memories but still be evil and loyal to dr. Gero.
