Why did you pick him/her?: We need a bit more brain power, plus it'll be fun to have like a genius kid on the science team. The TV series has a lot of adventures so I'm going to primarily focus on the movie overall with mentions of the TV show.

Jimmy is extremely intelligent, quick-witted, creative and exceptionally dedicated. He's noble, well-meaning, energetic, adventurous and is ambitious. He is also quite hard-working, unfortunately he is hard-working only when it's related to stuff he is passionate about or wishes to do. While he is kind and thoughtful, he has a tendency to be self-centered and overly self-righteous. He can be quite arrogant, believing himself either above certain child-like activities or can come across as a know-it-all due to being so intelligent. He is stubborn also, believing his perception is usually the right one. Despite these flaws, he is most, if not always a heroic and compassionate person and is always willing to admit wrong-doing, especially when it's proven to him that he is in fact wrong. He genuinely does try his best to be helpful and caring towards other people, as he does overall have a genuine affection for others. He can come across as judgmental and close-minded sometimes but in reality he's very merciful and understanding. He can come across as socially unaware also, but that is because he is extremely confident in himself and believes he should never be someone he isn't. Even though he has pride, when he does screw up he genuinely is apologetic and will go out of his way to solve a problem. He also is willing to open his mind to other people's perspective, especially his friends' perspective as he does have a loyalty to them.
History:
Jimmy Neutron was born and raised in Retroville, a popular but small town. He was extremely intelligent, learning to speak when he was only four months old. He was reading at a fifth grade level by the time he was in kindergarden, which was both a pride and a concern for his parents. While they openly supported his intelligence, his parents wanted him to have a normal childhood and genuinely encouraged the boy to be more considerate of his creativity. While Jimmy was content with being around the same peers his age, he was socially awkward and a bit of a know-it-all, which caused him to be classified by others as a nerd. He became rivals especially with the popular, and intelligent, Cindy Vortex since the two tended to compete academically. He became friends with local nerds Carl Wheezer and Sheen Estevez and overall, despite his inventions causing hiccups, he was quite happy. He even invented a robot dog, Goddard, since his mother had severe animal hair allergies who became his right hand man.
One day Jimmy's inventions caused a lot more trouble than it was worth, at least for his mother judy and she decided to punish him by not allowing him to go to the opening of Retroland. Fearing embarrassment from the school as well as wanting to go as it seemed fun, Jimmy eventually took the popular kid Nick's advice to sneak out. He snuck out, feeling resentful of his parents always telling him what to do, and he wished for no parents on a starry night. Unknown to him, aliens captured all the parents, lead by a satalite attempt by Jimmy in a effort to find alien life. At first no parents seemed fun, but as time went by Jimmy became increasingly depressed, realizing he loved his parents and needed them. He, alongside the many children of retroville, went to rescue their parents from the aliens known as Yolkians. Their king Goobot V refused and imprisoned them, exposing Jimmy as well for his alien-contact attempt. Feeling shame and disgrace, Jimmy at first gave up but was encouraged by Cindy to try again. Jimmy did, becoming the ringleader of the kids, and eventually saved the parents. He reconciled with his parents, admitting that he didn't know everything and still needed them. Things became somewhat normal but Jimmy got into many other misadventures, sometimes thanks to his inventions. He also slowly, but surely, gained more and more feelings for Cindy and vise-versa, even eventually starting to date her. One day, he was inventing a new universe travel machine, but accidentally pressed a wrong button. He ended up here in chicago, illinois in a world that wasn't his. He was pleased it worked but horrified when his invention just wouldn't work. He entered the critic's home to have a place to stay in the meantime, hoping his invention will eventually work.
