History:
Cody was adopted by a human couple as his mermaid mother got separated from when being hunted by humans and couldn't go back for him. He grew up unaware he was a merman. But when he turned 13 he began to develop gills and a fin when he touched water. And after he';d joined the swim team.
He gained a friend who was an expert in mermaids and a new girlriend. Both were in shock. His friend accepted it but it weirded his girlfriend out who left. After winning the competition he nearly got discovered as a merman and hid. Then found out his birth mother was captured by his friend's father. He rescued her and his friend's father let her go. Cody made up his with girlfriend and went off for the summer with his mermaaid mom.
After returning for the year he and his girlfriend decided to remain friends as she had fallen for someone else over the summer. And they hadn't even gone on a date yet so Cody agreed even though he was sad to lose her. But then a few days later he disappeared and woke up in another world. He reluctantly joined Ask That Guy's Army hoping to find a way home.
