Why did you pick him/her?: To give the pups their father.

Personality: clever, heroic, loyal, loving, protective, optimistic, mischievous. he loves his wife, kids and pets roger, anita, and nanny. When they went missing he and perdita used the twilight bark and went to rescue their kids with help from animals in the city and surrounding country. He fought off villains and nature itself to get his family home.
History:
Pongo grew up with Roger as his "pet" and they were very happy together. He got used to the leash as Roger saw it as a way to protect him. But then one day he saw Anita and Perdita walking by on the way to the park and realized they'd be perfect mates for him and Roger. So he changed the time on the clock to trick Roger into going for a walk. And arranged a meeting for the two couples which in the end caused Roger and Anita to fall into a pond and get soaked. But Roger tries to help and ends up with soaked hanky as they laugh at the situation. Eventually, the two couples get married and move into together.
Soon Perdita is pregnant with puppies. Cruella makes a visit asking about the puppies and annoying Roger and the dogs. Anita sends her on her way as Roger makes his latest song about Cruella to Pongo's delight. Anita is annoyed at first but gives in as Roger is happy and dances with her. A few weeks later Perdita gives birth to 15 puppies. One nearly dies but Roger manages to save it to everyone's relief. Cruella shows up again seeing they are white but learns they will grow spots. She offers to buy them but Roger refuses as Cruella storms off in a huff.
Pongo and Perdita love their kids and raise them as a few weeks later their spots have grown and they're watching Thunderbolt on tv. After the show is over they put the puppies to bed and leave with Roger and Anita for a walk in the park. Jasper and Horace broke in, and steal the puppies. They temporarily lock Nanny in a room and by the time she gets out they're gone. She calls for help but it's too late. After no answers from the humans, Pongo and Perdita use the Twilight Bark to find their puppies. The Twilight Bark travels to the countryside where Seregent Tibbs, Captain, and Colonel learn the puppies are being held at Devil Manor. They send word as Pongo and Perdita make their way there with help from various animals.
Tibbs breaks in and learns there are 99 puppies. the 15 stolen ones and 84 bought from pet stores. Tibbs learns Cruella has hired Jasper and Horace to kill the puppies and remove their skin to make coats for her. Tibbs frees the puppies from the room trying to escape but Jasper and Horace chase them around the house and back into the main room. Pongo, Perdita, and Colonel broke in. While Pongo and Perdita fight off Jasper and Horace Colonel and Tibbs lead the puppies to the barn. Captain, Tibbs, and Colonel distract the pair while Pongo and Perdita lead the puppies out the back. The brothers and Cruella get into their cars and give chase.
They hide under a bridge and later in a barn to recover from the cold and eat. They make it a town where they'll ride in a truck the rest of the area. But Cruella and the brothers have followed them. So they disguise themselves as labradors rolling in the soot. They make it into the car but snow begins following on them revealing it's a disguise as one falls into a pile of snow and the soot gets washed off. After getting into the van Cruella, Jasper and Horace chase fater them and split up. They try to get the car but Jasper & horace's car crashes into cruella sending them off the road with their cars both wrecked. They eventually get arrested while the puppies, Pongo and Perdita head home and reunite with Nanny, Anit and Roger. They clean off the soot revealing who they are and are glad to have their family back. They mistakenly believe Pongo and Perdita had more children unaware the other 84 puppies were just adopted.
They soon decide to move to the country. Pongo spends much of his time counting the puppies making sure he has them all. One time while dream counting Patch talks to him thinking he's awake and asks if he's one of a kind or one of 101 and Pongo says 101 still counting. Patch feels out of place at home and heads off to join Thunderbolt's show. Cruella out on parole bails out Jasper and Horace to work for her as well as an artist named Lars. As she admires his artwork with spots. But after learning the dalmantians are in the farm thanks to Patch being in the paper. They kidnap the 97 puppies from the farm. Lars refuses to make paintings out of the puppies and is locked up as the trio of villains go back to the original plan of making coats out of them.
Patch and Thunderbolt try to rescue them but end up captured as Lightning betrays them planning to take over the show. Patch frees the puppies as they run away. Thunderbolt feels like a fraud as he's only a tv hero as it was pretend. But sees Patch in action and helps Patch and the puppies defeat the trio and Lighhtning knocking them into a river and arresting them. Pongo, Perdita, Roger, Anita and Nanny catch up to the puppies reuniting with them. Pongo is proud of his son for rescuing his family and of the hero he's become.
They then settle in at the farm but unfortunately Cruella and her cronies are out of jail and now live next door at Devil Manor which is next door to their farm which used to be Devil Land. And now she's trying to get them out of their home so she can reclaim it. But fails repeatedly. One day Cruella, Jasper and Horace disappear and soon several of the puppies and local animals like Captain and Mooch disappear as well. Then Perdita is the latest to disappear making Pongo feel more lonely before he too ends up in another world. He ends up in Critic's army hoping to find out what's happening and find his family.
