Zykos carefully walked into the lab carrying a bag. He saw no one was there and grinned.

"Perfect. I can leave my surprise and no one will know. " said Zykos.

As he made his way to a table he left a note for Dark Donny.

"Dear Darwin,

I know you and your brothers aren't as agile with your bigger bodies so I forged this armor and shields for you and your brothers. Now I can worry less knowing you are protected out there.

Zykos was pleased with his work but heard whistling. So he turned running out what he thought was a back door. But instead, it was a closet. Seeing he didn't have any more time he closed the door leaving it open a crack to watch. He hoped no one saw him. But he hadn't realized in his haste he'd left some leaves trailing to the closet that had fallen off him.

"I hope he likes it." whispered Zykos.

Darwin was getting somewhere in terms of this whole hero thing. He definitely felt like he had a family. But it was somewhat difficult to make friends and even more difficult to find a significant other. He was glad Lorenzo and Monet were lucky, but Darwin couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy. He wanted that but he didn't receive it. Maybe it was because he was more closed off than his brothers were. Lorenzo and Monet were social butterflies, Ricardo was pretty easy going, but Darwin was his own person and it took a while for him to trust. But he had one person out of the rest he really liked but never could admit. And that was Zykos.

Zykos was similar to him. Harsher background, distrustful mindset, intelligent, skilled, patient and determined. But he also had traits of his own that made Darwin genuinely fall for him. He was compassionate, thoughtful, sensitive and noble. But Darwin never really thought zykos would be interested in him. After all, he was a monster. At least in both this world and the world zykos supposedly came from. But he didn't want to avoid zykos so they have chatted. And chatted a lot. This only made Darwin's feelings increase. But he didn't think he deserved it. So he tried to keep quiet.

He went up the stairs with his thoughts about his new crush, heading to the lab, whistling a calming tune as he went. Thanks to proving himself the leaders here made him a fellow scientist for the team, which was good for Donatello as it meant a bit less work for Donny. Darwin headed to the lab and noticed a bag. Darwin's mind raced with theories and then he decided maybe the best course of action was to call out "Um hello? Anyone leave a bag here?" He then widened his eyes when he noticed it was supposedly a gift. A gift for him. As his name was on it with a note on the table.

Darwin read the note and his heart pounded a bit. A admirer. For him? Darwin was both flattered and shocked. You would think his ego would make him not as surprised but no. He was egotistical about his intelligence and skill, not about his looks and attractiveness. He then muttered to himself "Someone really did this for me?" He then opened it to reveal exactly what the note promised. Armor for himself, monet, ricardo and Lorenzo. Darwin admired the craftsmanship and replied "This is incredible. It would normally take days to make armor like this"

He then smiled more as he read the note again and looked at the armor. Someone cared for him this much. The thoughtfulness and generosity flattered Darwin a lot more than people would think he'd be. He determinedly replied "I need to find out who this is. No wait, I should give something back. No wait how will I do that if I don't know who they are, back to square one find out who this is then reciprocate" He then sniffed, smelling the scent of nature. He then noticed the trail of leaves heading to the closet. Darwin smirked, aware this was too much of a coincidence. He then went to the closet and replied calmly "Come out of there please. I know you're in there" He then also tried to appear kind as this was clearly the admirer "Please come out. I want to thank you for your gift"

Zykos paused hearing him and grinned. His surprise had worked. But he frowned hearing him closer as he realized he'd been caught. He opened the door relucutantly with a sheepish grin.

"Hi. I guess you know I like you now." replied Zykos.

He blushed and gave a sheepish grin.

"I'm glad you like the gift." said Zykos.
