Why did you pick him/her?: Because I adore her and her relationship with tarzan. And since terk won't be leaving ATG for a small while I was thinking she might have her aunt. Plus it'll be fun drama to realize she and her son are on opposite sides.

Personality:
Kala is a tender, kind, thoughtful, wise, open-minded and compassionate individual. She's non-judgmental and always looks out for others. She's a maternal person, always taking care of others even when she is judged or made fun of for it. She's unconcerned of others opinions, sticking to her own morality and judgment. That said, she will always expand her horizons if it means benefiting the group as a whole and will be willing for new ideas if it makes others happy. She's noble, selfless, and mild-mannered. That said, she does get quite vicious and brave when someone she cares for is in danger, and will get aggressive if she finds it necessary.
History:
Kala was born and raised in the jungle in a small gorilla pack and was raised by a single mother, with a very distant father. As a teen she eventually left her gorilla tribe due to her mother dying and her father not wanting much to do with her. She eventually met Kerchak's tribe, lead by Kerchak's father and was taken in as if she was one of their own. She befriended and fell in love with kerchak, and despite his flawed tendencies there was no question the two were a item and would be there for one another. She married him, and became his second in command once his father died. Kala then became pregnant with their son and for a time things were easy and pleasant. However, one night, when their son was only five months old, sabor came into the night and hunted them down. Both Kerchak and Kala lost sight of him, due to the baby being genuinely curious of Sabor unknowing how dangerous she was. Sabor killed their son and both kerchak and kala were devastated by the loss. Fearful of losing the rest of his pack, kerchak would constantly move them from place to place, while kala mourned the loss.
One day though she heard the cries of a baby, hoping it was her son she followed the cries, but then discovered a broken down treehouse with two dead human adults. She then found a human infant boy, and bonded with him almost immediately. Falling in love with the baby and taking pity on him due to not having a family anymore, she took the baby in and saved him from being killed by sabor. While it was admittedly strange, kala would not deny the baby was hers. The other tribe members didn't nececessarily judge and her niece Terk even liked the baby, but kerchak viewed the baby as a obstacle. This resulted in a argument due to kerchak wanting kala to take him back, kala though did not want to take him back as she was fond of the baby and knew he would die if left unattended. Kerchak didn't want him due to viewing him as a danger but kala refused to see him as a danger. She eventually managed to convince him to let the baby stay, but kerchak made it clear that he didn't view the child as their son. Kala didn't exactly like hearing that but she let it go, believing eventually he would warm up to the child. She then named the baby Tarzan and vowed to protect him at any cost.
As years passed, Tarzan became a sweet but clumsy child earning the annoyance of the pack. Tarzan than was dared by terk and her friends to get a elephant hair, causing a stampede. Kala, worried about her son, went to find him but then saw tarzan confess to accidentally causing the stampede due to playing. Kerchak chewed him out but kala stood up for him saying he was just a child and would learn, but kerchak's patience was limited and he did not believe tarzan would improve, if anything he would get worse. Tarzan, feeling too different and guilty for his actions, ran off. Kala managed to convince him that he was still an ape and would get better with skills in time. One night though there was a severe storm that separated her from tarzan and she believed him to be dead, only to find him eventually as he ran off believing he was a burden to her. He learned his skills better thanks to a gorilla named Zugor and tarzan became much, much more skilled as he got older. By the time he was a adult, he earned the respect, admiration and approval of the entire tribe. Exactly as kala predicted. One day though new humans came to the jungle by the names of Jane Porter, Professor Porter and John Clayton. Tarzan befriended them and began to fall for jane, which caused tension between him and kerchak for real.
Kala, realizing he may be her child but he was also still human, and she showed him the treehouse where she found him. She then told him that whatever path he took, she would support him. Despite her immensely sad feelings, tarzan assured her she was his mother and kala bid him farewell. Despite her sadness she understood he wasn't a baby anymore, but her feelings were interrupted when she was captured by clayton to be sold. She was rescued by tarzan and jane but was shocked, and frightened, when tarzan got shot. She was also pleased, surprised and horrified when kerchak risked his life to save tarzan from another shot. Kerchak then died, declaring tarzan his heir, much to both her sadness and relief. Tarzan stayed, as did jane and her father as both grew fond of the jungle and jane was in love with tarzan. Many adventures happened since then and kala became jane's mother in law as she married tarzan.
One day though jane, terk and tarzan all disappeared. Fearful she went to find them, only to awaken in a city captured by la. Kala refused to cooperate but then saw her niece terk captured here too, wanting to prevent punishment from terk she agreed to work for la. She only can hope her son and daughter in law are alright.
Allies: Tarzan, Kerchak, Terk, Tantor, Jane Porter, Professor Porter, ATG Army
Enemies: Clayton, Lady Waltham, Critic and Facilier Army
Plans: To eventually confront tarzan, get a rivalry between her and la, get a rivalry with Waltham too, and after some time eventually reunite with him and jane in the defiants army.
