Personality:
Alex is impulsive, brash, spirited and unapologetically confident. This gives him the unintended appearance of being a egotist, but he isn't. While he is confident, he does tend to not allow his ego or his emotions to judge his decision making most if not a majority of the time. That said, once he's pushed to a point, he can allow his emotions to control him. Thankfully he's a pretty easy going, happy-go-lucky and fun person so it's extremely difficult to push his buttons. He's compassionate and tends to be open-minded also, going out of his way to be understanding to all sides of the story. He's a pretty sweet guy, always going out of his way to be kind. He's pretty curious also, which can come across as being nosy every once in a while. He's pretty charming and does what he can to be a good friend. He's also quite protective of those he cares about and will risk his own life if need be to help them. Because he's a empath, once he is hurt or angry it is undeniably noticeable. The things that do make him angry or hurt overwhelm or stress him out to the point of unleashing emotions of a unspeakably high level. It is because he tends to force negative feelings down and push positive ones up because he genuinely desires to not allow negative things to control him.
History:
Alex was born and raised in Pennsylvania, abandoned by his birth parents and was in the foster care system until he was five. He was adopted by a kind-hearted high school music teacher by the name of Stan Tobeck. Stan and alex were thick as thieves and alex adored his adoptive father. Alex had a good home life and did quite well until he reached middle school. Due to being a smart kid and naturally talented at sports, this caused him to be quite popular with the teachers, earning the jealous distain of the popular kids. They bullied him quite badly, alex tried to get teachers to stop them but this only motivated the kids to pick on him more. One day, the popular kids gang leader dared him to a hockey game only to deliberately aim the hockey puck at alex's head. This caused alex to get a bad gash, as well as knock him out. At first the bullies found it funny, but then it scared the bullies once alex wouldn't wake up. Fearing consequences, the kids left him there and alex wasn't discovered until two hours later. The event traumatized him to the point of transferring to a new middle school, this caused stan to offer his son music lessons as a therapeutic way to cope.
Alex, loving the chance to spend more time with his father, agreed to learn music. The result was a undeniable talent, and love, for music. Alex over the years did both sports and music electives as the years passed, and became the leader of his high school band. Alex graduated and went to college with a music scholarship. Alex got a music degree and became a solo artist, with records selling quite well. This lead to him meeting a fellow older solo musician by the name of Patrick Wallen with the alias maniac. The two became immediate good friends and even collaborated together with music, they also had the same producer and mutual friend Michael Tobbs. One day Alex, Michael, Patrick and a few mutual friends one of them being Ted Marx went to a abandoned building out of curiosity. Ted Marx dared Patrick and a friend to enter the building. Alex watched on the sidelines as both Patrick and the friend got into the building, only for the building to collapse and ooze from the radioactivity to spew out. In a panic, Ted fled along with the rest of the friends. Michael and alex however stayed, as alex assisted Patrick out, Michael called the police as well as discovered the friend who entered alongside Patrick to be dead. Patrick recovered only to have new powers, alex and Michael swore to secrecy. Alex continued his career alongside Patrick, collaborating still whenever possible.
Then one day Patrick disappeared, Alex went to find him only for he himself to disappear. He found himself in Chicago and in a rush took the critic's army as a refuge. Alex stayed and can hope to find his friend to take him home, that is if Patrick is willing to go home.
