Why did you pick him/her?: fun rival for Bugs; fun character in general.

Personality: loud, jealous, short tempered, greedy. But he has a good heart. If his friends are in danger or if he's guilted to doing "the right thing" he'll do it even if he's angry at himself for it. He has a frenemyship of sorts with Bugs. They're rivals as he's tried to get top billing a lot but at the same time they'd bail each other out if they were in trouble. He has a crush on Melissa Duck but it never went anywhere because he didn' admit his feelings. Despite her being one of the actors who played his love interests over the years.
History:
Daffy Duck is one of the actors from the Looney Tunes. From the beginning he wanted to be a star and like many of the toons had his own solo cartoons. He faced off some various hunters some that never went past one cartoon and afterwards ended up doing other jobs like being producers, directors, etc. In some of the shorts he had girlfriends or wives and one of his recurring love interests was Melissa Duck. They had the same last names and for awhile he considered asking her out. But he kept chickening out thinking she wasn't interested. And he wasn't going to humiliate himself and have it get all over the tabloids. And have Elmer Fudd and the rest make fun of him.
Then one day aliens came to their home to enslave them. They got Michael Jordan to help. The aliens stole the talents of several basketball stars to grow giant. The two groups fought and eventually they managed to defeat the aliens with some help from a couple of Michael's friends the toons brought over including Michael's manager. As well as Michael's kids who helped Bugs and Daffy get some of Michael's things from his house. After the mess was over the aliens returned home and the Looney Tunes were free to resume being actors and making people laugh. Michael Kordan returned to his regular life and reventually rejoind the NBA.
But then one day Bugs Bunny and Penelope Pussycat went missing. Daffy saw it as his change for a big break. Without Bugs to get in his way he could finally be the star. But he disappeared too and ended up in another world. Stumbling across an old mansion he arrived and learned of the war and that Bugs Bunny was on this side. No one knew of Penelope but since she wasn't here she must be in one of the other armies. For her sake Daffy hoped she was okay. They weren't exactly close but unlike Bugs she wasn't a rival so he had no ill will towards her. If he could he'd find a way to get him and Penelope back home and "accidentally" leave Bugs here. At least until Daffy became a star then he could bring Bugs back.
