Personality:
Sam is immensely skilled, intelligent, quick-witted and ambitious. He is also, however, somewhat selfish and brash. He's stubborn, immensely so, and it takes a lot of trust or love for sam to do things outside his comfort zone. Due to being emotionally neglected, he sometimes comes across as emotionless and cold. He also can be quite close-minded, wanting to be normal and accepted for who he is. He's more sensitive than he wants people to believe. He can be insecure but will usually put on a assertive façade to hide his emotions if need be. But he is extremely well-meaning, tender, sweet and compassionate. Despite his selfish tendencies, he does go out of his way for those he cares about and is extremely noble. He does also have a sense of humor, which he also uses to hide his inner dark emotions.
History:
Sam was born on May 2nd, 1983, the youngest son of Mary and John Winchester. He had a older brother, Dean who was four years older than him. When he was just a infant, his mother was brutally murdered by demons. Dean was forced to take his brother whereas john desperately tried to save their mother. John was unsuccessful and never got over the event. Since then john made it his life to hunt demons, and tried to influence his sons to do the same. Dean was successfully influenced, sam was much less so. Due to constantly moving around, with few friends if any at all, sam became very resentful of the demon hunting life. While he was quite close to his brother, even viewing him as a best friend, the same couldn't be said for his dad. This resulted in many arguments which lead sam to move away from both dean and john around eighteen years old.
A couple years passed and sam had a relatively easy life, he went to college in law, met and fell in love with a woman named Jessica and was about to propose to her along with get a new job. However, just before the interview, he met up with his brother dean who told him their father was missing. Resentful, sam didn't want to help but Dean managed to convince him otherwise and sam eventually agreed. He helped dean with the first hunt to set the trail to find their father, then went to start his life, but this caused him to feel melancholy that he and his brother were forced to separate again. He was to return to Jessica, planning to propose to her, only for Jessica to be murdered in the same way his mother was. Traumatized by Jessica's death and feeling this wasn't going to go away easily, he met up with dean to permanently hunt demons with him. Not long after they set on their journey, he and dean disappeared and met at critic's army. Sam and Dean both began their lives in the war, and became closer as time went on, sam even began a romance with nella. Then mike stone and sherlock holmes convinced him to do a secret mission, one that nearly cost sam his life. A bit resentful, he hid away hiding from others. Nella however managed to convince him to forgive and move forward. Sam realized she was right and got into the war again, vowing to protect his brother, nella and anyone else that needed his help.
