Fire and Lightning (Wheeler)

Wyatt was looking for the redheaded teen. Word had spread quickly of teens and kids needing homes. And he knew how happy Ma-Ti had been too see Linka and Wheeler. If one or both had been taken away it might make him sad again. And from what bits and pieces he'd gotten the kid had been through too much already. So he was looking for Wheeler hoping to take him in. He paused knocking on Wheeler's door.

"Wheeler? Are you in there?" asked Wyatt.

He paused with a grin.

"Maybe I should leave a note. How exactly do you write do you want to be adopted by me so you don't end up in foster care without looking like I'm trying to take advantage. I mean I always wanted kids. But I could never get a relationship to last. Guess if he says no I could try one of the others." said Wyatt, thinking out loud.

He paused decided to look for something to write with when the door opened.

"Uh. hi." said Wyatt, not expecting that.

The news had spread children were now required to be adopted or into a guardianship. That both was understandable and irritating to wheeler. He had his mother back at home and ma-ti and linka, what else family did he need? But at the same time wheeler did feel like he needed a little bit more family as gi betrayed them long ago and wheeler had little idea where Kwame was. The few people he managed to like were willie, zykos and wyatt. Wyatt he didn't exactly get tons of time with but wheeler found himself liking the slightly older man.

He was thinking to himself that maybe, just maybe, having a dad again wouldn't be so bad. It couldn't be worse than that bastard previous dad of his. As he was waking up he heard a knock and Wyatt's voice. Realizing the older man wished to speak to him, wheeler got his clothes on and went to open the door. Only to hear wyatt worriedly talk about how he wanted to adopt wheeler without it seeming not so disingenuous. Wheeler was flattered and curious all at once. He wanted a dad, it was just he was afraid to want it. He eventually opened the door, with a knowing smile replying "Hey there. Nice to see ya"

He then moved a bit to allow wyatt in to his room "Guess you wanna come and chat with me huh?" He then took a breath and replied "Hey listen wyatt. If you wanted to adopt me you could've just asked" He shrugged with a amused smirk "I'm not made out of glass ya know" He then replied "If you were worried about my answer, the answer is yes by the way"

Wyatt paused as the door opened and he grinned.

"Nice to see you too. Wheeler right? I'm Wyatt." replied Wyatt.

He walked into the room and he nodded.

"Yes. I-"

He blushed and realized he'd been overheard.

"I guess I shouldn't think out loud so much. I have four sisters and brother in law back in my homeworld. I always wanted kids but never found the right person. And I don't know that much about you but I want to." said Wyatt.

He paused as Wheeler said he did want to be adopted.

"You mean that? Yes!" replied Wyatt.

He paused pulling Wyatt into a hug. He pulled back still grinning.

"You might have to take my name to make it official. But just think of me like a second father. I don't want to replace the family you had especially if they show up someday." said Wyatt.
