Personality:
Wilford is best described as unapologetically chaotic, he is spirited, brash, naïve and immensely impressionable. He has a lust for life and always is down for having a good time. He's quite eccentric, undeniably so and he fully admits that. He enjoys being the odd one out, preferring to be happy and be himself than above all else. He's bubbly, happy go lucky and fun loving. He's also ruthless, oblivious, sadistic and trigger-happy, which is made worse because he is so impulsive. He is also quite sensitive and emotional, yet at the same time he's quite patient, collected and calm most of the time. He's charming and pleasant to be around, which makes him all the more dangerous. He's unhinged and violent, being destructive whenever he feels like. He's a pretty easy going, laidback person but has lots of insecurities, anxiety and depression. He genuinely despises himself and is quite self-loathing, but not wanting to hurt those he cares about or likes has a false façade of confidence and ego. He's loyal, immensely so, and is quite tender and sweet, being quite thoughtful and kind underneath all his chaotic violent urges.
History:
Wilford was born William James Barnum in 1928 and had a relatively easy going childhood, nothing eventful or unpleasant for his early development. He was adopted by the barnum family and was quite close with his adopted brother Mark Barnum. He was also best friends with his next door neighbor Damien Doom. The three boys were a trio for many years, even all three going to the same high school. When he graduated, he was immensely skilled in the army and was so noble and amazing he became a colonel. He was honorably discharged when he got shot in the leg. While he could still walk on both legs, he had a limp that hindered his ability. He returned home to praise and appreciation, and his friends welcoming him home. He was shocked to find Damien was running for mayor and mark married Damien's sister celine, a girl both mark and William was fond of. Celine and mark though were not in a happy marriage, and this lead to a love triangle that would ruin all their lives forever. William fell in love with celine and the two had a affair, which was eventually discovered by mark. This not only ruined mark and William's friendship but it was a disgrace to damian's campaign. William, feeling guilty for Damien's part as he was innocent, donated a lot of his inheritance to Damien's campaign and not only got Damien in once, not twice, but three times. William also felt guilty for celine being in the middle of a nasty divorce and offered to run away with her, but celine admitted she wasn't in love with him either and just wanted to live her own life alone. Understanding he and celine broke up, and William went off to adventures to parts unknown for a while.
One day though, mark invited him, Damien, and a few of mark's other friends to a party. William, realizing his friend Damien would be there, reluctantly agreed to come. He enjoyed himself but felt mark was being oddly cheerful. He awoke from his hangover, due to being drunk, to see mark's body lying on the floor dead. While he did feel some loss, anger and resentment overflowed him and he unintentionally came across as the suspect who did it due to having a apathetic reaction. His apathetic reaction also tested his friendship with Damien, as Damien was the peacemaker in the group and felt William wasn't taking this seriously. William befriended the detective's partner and admitted he felt loss, but he didn't know how to handle it so he just tried to keep a safe face. He then was confronted by Abe, the detective, who suspected him. Only to be stopped by celine who defended William, as well as convince Damien to let her do a séance in search of mark. The séance caused a massive panic attack for the detective's partner who was demanded to return by celine but both Damien and Abe found the detective partner too overwhelmed. While Damien stayed with celine to go over what she learned, abe and the detective partner went to find more clues. William, overwhelmed by celine's presence, hid away to collect himself. But then he learned celine and Damien were killed by a power in the house. The house, it turned out, was haunted and controlled by a evil spirit that manipulated mark's dark side and assisted mark in possessing Damien as a cover to lure celine so mark could kill her then Damien to leave no trail behind. All of this was at the cost of mark himself dying in the process too, but it was all to get back at william. William was then framed for it all by clues mark, who possessed Damien, left and abe confronted him a final time for it. In a panic, he accidentally shot both the detective and his partner.
He ran to the partner, viewing them as a friend and hoping they survived, only to see the detective's partner live once more. The whole debacle of seeing the detective's partner literally come to life finally made William snap, he had a mental breakdown that destroyed his sanity, making him the chaotic unhinged person he now is. A few years later, darkiplier met up with him and showed him the truth. Darkiplier and him became good allies and friends, which lead darkiplier to give William a deal. In exchange for his servitude and unhesitant obediance, darkiplier would make him immortal and give him powers of his own. William, extremely fearful of his mortality and not wanting to die, agreed. William then became immortal and quite powerful on his own, but he was aware that darkiplier was his boss but he didn't mind, he liked dark. William however in his spare time started to become a criminal on the run for the longest time, having multiple romantic affairs with people only to steal their money or kill them. His luck ran out when he had a affair with a successful stockbroker's wife and killed him, the wife and their only child. He was about to spend the rest of his days in prison but Wilford used his powers to cheat the system and was let off. Still, he knew it was best to cover his tracks, so he changed his identity to Wilford Warfstache and became a free-lance journalist and reporter. Wilford had since done much journalist work but due to his violent history would sometimes get fired from news station for killing clients.
Eventually Wilford resided in a small cable network, with a show called Warfstache Tonight!, and despite the violence it gave immensely good ratings and even better business. The executor of that small network made sure he stayed on there and Wilford happily worked there for many years, along with working for Darkiplier in secret and helping with Dark's schemes when he could. One day though darkiplier disappeared and Wilford's curiosity got the better of him and he went to find him. Only to come to a small army lead by two men who felt misplaced in any of the other armies, Wilford aware that he was too evil for the man they called critic but he didn't want to be on atg. He met up with darkiplier in secret and Wilford begged to not join facilier as he didn't like facilier. Darkiplier saw no reason to keep Wilford and allowed him to make his choice, but commanded that Wilford stay away from the facilier army and ignore their affairs. Wilford agreed and now focuses his attention on critic's army and taking down atg's army. He hopes the defiants army feels right for him.
