Brotherly Love (Deceit, Remus)

[Prince Tomás]

(ooc: July 27th. Morning. couldn't resist starting a friendship bonding thread of sorts. he's kind of like a dark version of thomas in a way so perhaps that's what they think at first. they miss thomas but this tomas accepts them and doesn't try to change them or hide them somewhere.)

Tomas had been grateful for Trickster and Facilier. They'd shown him the truth. His two best friends were gone, and one was practically his fiance. If Malonda hadn't grown a spine and fought back things would be different now. And then there was not being able to sleep much. He still had nightmares of falling off and others where he survived and Malonda made him watch as she executed his best friends before killing him. And yet Trickster wasn't the only he felt drawn to.

Deceit and Remus resembled him and others often mistook him for one of them or thought the three were brothers. And being an only child for so long his friends had been the closest to a family he had. And he'd wanted to spend some time with them as they reminded him of his lost friends in some ways. But he barely knew them and he wasn't sure if he was good at making the friends part. So he'd dared them to a drinking contest hoping they wouldn't back out and thinking he could try to learn about them a little then. But it backfired in a way as he was more of a lightweight than he thought and been the first to pass out.

He'd woken up to his surprise with both of them on each side of him and to his embarrassment, he had one arm around each of them as if he was afraid they'd leave. And yet it was the first night since he'd got here he'd had a full night sleep and no nightmares. They may not be his brothers but he wished they were. He felt safe with them.

"I barely remember last night. I wish we could share a room every night. I don't want to go back to the nightmares again. I wish you were my brothers. I don't want to feel so alone and tired anymore." said Tomas.

If he was more alert and not so hungover he'd have realized he wasn't the only one awake. As he thought to get up he realized hi s arms were still around both of them and he moved them he'd wake them up.

"Guess I'll be staying here longer than I thought." said Tomas.

(OCC: I was thinking very similar. I was thinking they were motivated to befriend him because tomas reminds them of the Thomas they want. But as this thread plays out and in future thread they accept tomas as his own person and fully enjoy him as like a best friend/brother of sorts)

Deceit didn't really want to drink. He was more or less under the impression he was too 'mature' for that sort of thing. This was where he and logan were similar. He believed some fun activities to be beneath him and that he had better things to do. But like logan, deceit had a deep desire for friendship and acceptance, and while he didn't want to admit it he was more emotional than credit gave him. The only friend he had was remus back at home. And while remus tended to get on his nerves, deceit did care deeply and liked him. Then tomas came along and deceit was at first put off, due to the man looking precisely like Thomas. But tomas was clearly different, for one thing Tomas wouldn't cry over a killed fly. If anything tomas would stomp on the fly for getting in his way. Tomas was much more ambitious, more willing to accept darkness and evil. Deceit appreciated that.

Which was why he was convinced to drink, that and remus wouldn't stop yelling at him to join. He, remus and tomas did a drinking contest, with some facilier members cheering them on. The prince though was a lightweight and passed out before the end of the fourth round. Remus, being a bit of a competitor, declared that a winner needed to be made. So he and remus kept drinking until deceit called quits, not wanting to pass out or throw up. Remus was declared the winner and both men, drunk out of their mind, took tomas into their room rather than his own. Due to schedule issues, tomas for the moment had a room to himself. Whereas Remus and Deceit shared one. Due to being drunk though, deceit and remus took tomas to theirs.

Deceit awoke to tomas speaking. Deceit listened carefully, as he tended to do when curious, as tomas admitted he viewed the two like brothers and wished he could spend more time with them. Due to having terrible nightmares of his death. Deceit, for the first time in his life, felt genuine acceptance. And he wished for the prince to know that they could definitely be friends, especially since the prince genuinely viewed them as friends as opposed to monsters. He groaned a bit as his head started to pound, thanks to tomas moving, but he replied to tomas "You might as well stay, your highness. That contest destroyed the three of us" He pointed to remus who kept snoring really loudly.

He then replied, with a amused but flattered smile "You know, if you wanted to spend more time with us, you didn't need this song and dance of alcohol. You could just ask. Remus needs more friends" He then rolled his eyes, chuckling as remus woke up at the sound of his name. He then sighed as remus went to throw up. Deceit replied to tomas jokingly "You sure you like him still?" He then laughed a tiny bit as remus replied he was fine "Sure you are" Deceit replied sarcastically

Remus liked Tomas. That was the fact. It was like the Thomas remus wanted but never had the chance to get. Due to that blasted storm, it split him, deceit, logan, virgil, roman and patton into their own persons. Thomas was gone and even though they had plenty of problems, remus wished for a decent friendship with Thomas. Then Tomas came and not only exceeded his expectations but made it better. Tomas was not Thomas, but better. He was not so disgusted or frightened by remus, viewing his personality as charming rather than disturbing. He would sometimes laugh at remus' jokes, he would even compliment remus without prompt. But that was when tomas was near them. The prince spent time with trickster and the leaders, still relatively unused to his new life. Which was why remus was beyond happy when tomas invited them to a drinking contest.

Deceit felt it stupid but remus demanded he participate and remus made it into a game. Whoever drank the most would win. Tomas passed out by the fourth round, deceit surrendered by the seventh, remus was declared the winner. Seeing tomas asleep, both men went to take him to his room. But remus wrongfully lead them to his and deceit's room instead of tomas. He then was asleep, not aware of tomas and deceit's minor conversation.

However he began to stir a bit thanks to his head pounding. He then heard deceit mention him and remus went up, disturbing the somewhat peaceful mood by loudly declaring "Did someone mention me? What's up? What is it? Wha?" He then turned to smile happily at tomas and deceit "You guys lost last night! I'm the winner! In your f--" He then was interrupted by his stomach hurting him so hard he needed to vomit. He then politely replied "Excuse me" Then he went to the nearby bathroom and made loud comical vomit noises. After some time he replied loudly "I'm okay!" He then threw up a little more, comically so. He then came back to the room and replied to tomas "How did you guys sleep? My head hurts like the dickens but I slept great"

Tomas reluctantly let go of Remus as he went to throw up and he winced at it. But he was surprised Deceit had heard him. Remus was in the dark at the moment but Deceit's words touched him and he smiled.

"Thank you. And the drinking contest was probably a bad idea. I just wanted you both to like me." said Tomas.

He sighed sitting up letting go of Deceit as he sat up.

"I was a prince in my world forced into an arranged marriage. My family and I were never close so I arranged an accident for them so I could become king. But unfortunately, I couldn't get out of the marriage so I planned to take her out as well. I preferred men personally and the only real companionship I had was my two best friends. Although one had become something more. I planned on proposing to him after I killed my wife. But she somehow figured out my plan attacked. During the struggle, she shoved me off the roof to my death and I woke up here. Facilier showed me that my ex-wife killed them. I dragged them to their deaths. I should have gone alone. At least they'd still be alive ." said Tomas.

He paused wiping away tears from his face.

"And then I met the two of you. You remind me so much of them and I wanted to be your friends. But it had been so long since I'd made one. I thought a drinking contest would be a way to break the ice. I didn't know I was drinking with champions." said Tomas, amused yet annoyed he had at lost.

He smiled at them.

"I've been here over a week and each day I've had nightmares and very little sleep. But I woke up and I didn't have one nightmare and slept the whole night. Maybe you two are my good luck charms or something." said Tomas.

He paused feeling a bit shy and nervous as he spoke to them.

"Can we be friends? And hang out? Although I probably won't do another drinking contest. I honestly thought I'd last longer." said Tomas.

Deceit smiled a little more as Tomas admitted maybe the drinking was a bit much, but he just wanted to be liked by them. Deceit then nodded while Remus assured him that both he and remus already liked him. He then replied as remus spoke a little "Remus, let him finish" He then listened as Tomas explained his situation. That he wasn't close with his family and was forced to marry someone he didn't love. That the only family he really felt like he had was his lover and best friend, who both died trying to assist him in trying to earn his freedom. Tomas then explained he felt responsible and shame for it. Deceit could relate to this. He had his own shame, due to doing bad deeds in order to gain his freedom. He wasn't proud of what he did to Thomas but he had to lie in order to help Thomas in his own way. And he got shunned and blamed for it. Which made deceit feel his own sense of guilt and betrayal. He hated Thomas but he still felt guilty for pushing him away.

He then saw Tomas cry and Deceit felt at a loss what to do. So while remus was the more emotional comfort, deceit just processed all his words. He smirked, amused at tomas joke of being defeated thanks to both he and remus beating him in the drinking contest last night. But then he eventually spoke once remus said his piece and asked what he thought. Deceit processed all that was said and patted tomas's shoulder. He then eventually replied "First and foremost, I wish for you to know I not only want to be your friend, I am grateful for your friendship in general. Secondly, your lover and friend made their choices, they wanted to help you and so they did. So I wish for you to try to not blame yourself and realize their deaths are not your fault" He then sighed again replying "I know what it is like to feel trapped. But now you are not trapped. As remus correctly stated, you're free now and you can be whatever you wish to be. Remus and I will support you" He then chuckled, rolling his eyes as remus agreed passionately.

He then replied with a evident amused smirk "Well. I suppose you were too busy with nonsensical princely duties as opposed to drinking and partying. So no wonder you lost to us" He then listened as remus replied that he was hungry and he demanded the three of them get waffles. Deceit held his ears with annoyance "My god remus must you be so loud with everything. My head has a second heartbeat!" He then realized remus was right and that he needed to throw up. Deceit felt it come and he turned to tomas replying "Don't let remus cook. He'll burn the house. Stop him and make him wait, I'll make food I just... excuse me, remus is right I need to go vomit" He then ran to the bathroom, quickly and he was heard vomiting but it was way less loud and way less comical.

Remus came back just as Tomas explained he slept horribly for a long time thanks to having bad dreams. He then explained that he just wanted to be liked by them which was why he made the drinking contest. Remus replied offhandedly, waving his hand casually "Oh honey you didn't need to get us drunk to like you. Though inviting us for some fun always is a plus to getting the friendship started!" Remus then listened as deceit shushed him to let tomas speak. He then began to be a bit sad as tomas explained it had been a while since he made friends. The only close friends he had was a lover and one other friend, and they were all he really had. His family wasn't close with him and because of it tomas had them killed due to being trapped in a loveless marriage. He then was killed trying to be free and get married with the man he loved. Remus tried his best not to get emotional but he did feel impacted by the story. He totally understood. He felt lonely and wanted a man in his life. Thankfully jesse had got into his life but for a while remus would feel trapped of never being himself or happy.

Seeing tomas cry made Remus finally tear up himself. He then got his green handkerchief and he went over to tomas, sadly replying "Now now now don't cry. You're gonna make me cry. Oh sweetie I'm so sorry you had bad dreams and all that struggle in your life" He helped wipe tomas' tears, looking right at tomas determinedly, replying seriously "Honey. Their deaths weren't your fault. It's that ex wife bitch of yours and you best believe I'll make sure she pays. That's what best friends do honey, they tear apart your enemies for you" He then snapped his fingers sassily replying "You're free from all that royal bullshit honey. Be the gay butterfly you were always meant to be! Be yourself honey! Deceit and I love you either way! Right deceit?" He then listened as deceit made his comments and after deceit said his peace, Remus clapped and replied positively "Amen sister! See tomas, we're the dynamic trio now! No take backs" He then smiled sweetly tomas asked if they could be friends "Tomas, babycakes. You don't even need to ask" He then laughed as tomas said he wouldn't do a contest again "Of course not. Because I will win every single time we have one and that'll get boring"

He then grabbed deceit and tomas, ignoring the both of them having headaches. Now that he threw up and his headache was slowly disappearing, remus was hungry and wanted the other two to hang out with him and eat "Now I'm in the mood for some waffles. You both are gonna have some with me. I'm freaking starving. Winning a drinking contest puts me in the mood for waffles and bacon. I'll make it don't worry" He then rolled his eyes as deceit complained "Life is too short to be quiet and mope around with illness. You have a headache cause you need to vomit. Just throw up and you'll be fine. I'mma make waffles for us. Meet me in the kitchen you two!" He then left to the kitchen, expecting the other two to follow.

[Prince Tomás]

Tomás grinned at them.

"How did I get so lucky to have the two of you as my friends?" asked Tomás, thinking out loud.

He sighed.

"I guess you're right. I know they chose to help but I still feel bad for letting them down." replied Tomás.

He chuckled as the top of drinking.

"Yeah. I didn't drink often unless it was for parties." said Tomás.

He watched as Deceit went off to the bathroom and Remus something about waffles and took off.

"You want to stop him? I think I need to head in there myself." replied Tomás.

He ran to the bathroom throwing up in the toilet and flushed it. Before cleaning his hands. And rejoined the pair in the kitchen.

"Maybe we shouldn't cook anything. We could just do sandwiches or something. If our stomachs are still queasy some foods could make us sicker." said Tomás.
