Name: Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov aka Anya
Age: 18
Where is this character from?: Anastasia
Why did you pick him/her?: Mostly for funzies and mostly cause I feel like she's needed.
Picture:
Personality:
Anastasia is a pleasant, kind, caring, polite young lady but is not hesitant to make her opinion well known, and can be quite spirited. She's sardonic and smart mouthed, usually trying to point out or address conflict with humor. If humor fails to stop the conflict she gets quickly frazzled and usually shuts down with her emotions. She's not the most trusting, wanting to prevent getting close with someone as she fears others will forget or abandon her. She even can come across as blunt and easily irritated sometimes. However she's trying to be more trusting and more open, going out of her way to be friendly. Once she does trust someone she will go out of her way to help them, she is also immensely compassionate and loyal. She's sweet and well meaning underneath her rough exterior of sarcasm and stubbornness.
History:
Anya was born Anastasia Romanov, the grand duchess of Russia. Her father was Czar Nicholas II, her mother Alexandra Feodorova. She had three older sisters, Olga, Tatiana and Maria, along with a younger brother by the name of Alexei. She had a relatively fun and easy going childhood. She was somewhat spoiled by her loving parents and had the usual hijinks of sibling rivalry between her older sisters as well as was overall close to her young brother alexei. Who she was closest to however was her grandmother Marie who usually went to visit them as much as she could. One night her father made a fun celebration of the Romanov Tricennial. Her grandmother then surprised her during the party with a music box connected to a necklace key with the words "Together in Paris", promising the child that she would spend a summer with her in paris. Anastasia was delighted but unfortunately that gift would not come to pass until many years later, with different and sad circumstances.
Rasputin suddenly came and interrupted the party, Anastasia knew him for a small bit as he was a friend of the family. That was until her father angrily banished him for the use of dark magic. Her father, wanting to protect his children, did not approve of his dark magic use. Rasputin came to the party punishing the Romanov family with a curse: The Romanov family line would suffer starting the next week with a Russian revolution. Anastasia, being a small child, was frightened but her grandmother, mother and father said he was bluffing so she was pacified. That was until five to six days later rebellion members came through the front door, killing anyone who resisted them. Czar Nicholas told Marie to take Anastasia with her, Alexandra took the rest of the children through a different way. The intent was to split up to prevent being found and eventually meet up when the heat settled. Sadly, her mother, siblings and father all were killed in the crossfire. Anastasia stayed by her grandmother, forced to flee. However due to forgetting her music box, Anastasia panicked and went back to her room to get it. Marie, frightened, followed her. The two then met a young servant boy by the name of Dimitri who showed them a servant quarters passageway to prevent getting captured. Anastasia, in the chaos, dropped the music box and ran with her grandmother. She nearly got grabbed by Rasputin but escaped thanks to him drowning in the lake. She and her grandmother went to the train station, Anastasia absolutely frightened to lose her and vise versa. Unfortunately the chaos caused Anastasia to lose her grip on her grandmother's hand and she fell, hitting her head severely hard on the concrete. She passed out and lost all of her memory, frightened and alone wandering the streets.
A man took pity on her, giving her food and water for a day before sending her to the orphanage to reside in. She was under the strict and relatively unpleasant rule of Phlegmenkoff, but despite her being overall unkind the woman willingly provided for her along with other orphans and Anastasia got the name Anya as a result. She was taken care of by Phlegmenkoff and her staff members and befriended all the orphans there. While phlegmenkoff wasn't fond of her, anya got close with the other staff members and children. She had refused to be adopted, staying in the orphanage willingly because she knew she had a family, she just didn't know where they are. Then at eighteen, she was kicked out to find work but anya KNEW she had to find her family. She then went to go to paris, as that was her only clue, and adopted a sweet little dog who she named Pooka. She eventually crossed paths with a man named Dimitri and his friend Vlad, and they convinced her to join them to paris because they were going to meet the Grand Empress Marie to help her find her granddaughter. Little did she know was that vlad and dimtri were planning to con marie for her money with a anastasia lookalike, anya wanting to find her family agreed. She genuinely began to believe that she could be the grand duchess but was cautious due to not being sure. Little did they all know was that she was genuinely the grand duchess, and Rasputin an old enemy of the family came to hunt her down.
They went to the train station, but had to hide to prevent getting kicked out due to having fake passports. Rasputin used his magic to tamper with the train which caused them to barely escape with their lives. They went on boat instead and Rasputin put a spell on her to hypnotize her to hallucinate of meeting her family by a lake. What was really going on was that she was being lead to drown in the ocean, thankfully Dimitri saved her from that. They eventually went to paris to meet marie where Dimitri was exposed for his lies, anya outraged and disgusted left back to her room to pack her bags. Then she met marie who confronted her on why she was bothering marie, anya honestly explained she never cared about the money, just wanting a family. Marie was cynical but overall could see anya was at best a honest stranger and was about to leave until anya recalled memories that only Anastasia herself would know. Then she showed the necklace key that she kept all these years and played with the music box, causing marie to be beside herself with joy as her grandbaby was returned to her. Delighted herself, anya resided with marie immediately and over the past few days made up for lost time. Then Dimitri came to say good bye and anya went to join the party, ignoring her feelings for him. Marie then told her Dimitri didn't take the money which motivated anya to reconsider what she wanted.
Then, suddenly, she was baited by Rasputin to meet him and fight him. Despite his magic, anya wasn't scared of him anymore, she was no longer a child. Dimitri and pooka managed to help her get Rasputin's source of power and she destroyed it, declaring it as payment for everything he has done and everyone he has hurt. She then eloped with Dimitri, planning to marry him and planned to visit marie in the far future. One day though pooka disappeared and anya went to find him only to get stuck here at critic's. She got worried for his safety but was motivated to find and save pooka from evil enemies, including her old enemy of Rasputin.
Allies: Grand Empress Marie, Sophie, Pooka, Dimitri, Vlad, Critic Army
Enemies: Rasputin, Bartok, Facilier and ATG Army
Plans: Confront her insecurities and abandonment issues, befriend the other princesses, hopefully have Dimitri here. Get pooka back eventually.
