Why did you pick him/her?: Because we need him, I like him and jasmine together too.

Personality:
Aladdin is a noble, well meaning, compassionate, generous and overall kind individual. He does, however, tend to be dishonest due to wanting to prevent confrontation or trying to not harm feelings. However, when push comes to shove, especially when someone is in danger he goes out of his way to stand up for them. He's manipulative and quick witted, tending to take the happy go lucky approach to appear more confident than he actually is. While he is brave, bold and sardonic, he tends to take things more personally than he lets on. His confidence can only go so far, and is immensely protective of his bonds with others, which is why he does everything he can to keep them. He's immensely loving, loyal and protective of others, but because of his insecurities can be a bit impulsive, selfish and distrusting. He does have a relatively fun sense of humor, which is why he overall tries to be as positive as he can be.
History:
Aladdin was born to his single mother, unknowing of where his father was due to his father constantly exploring. His mother died when he was only ten years old, leaving him in the streets for most of his life. He had to steal, cheat and manipulate his way into surviving most of the time, but thankfully many neighbors were fond of him and gave him food and/or water when they could afford it. The guards, Razoul in particular, couldn't stand him and to be fair Aladdin couldn't stand them. So he sometimes liked to screw with them just for fun. But he tried his best to never push his luck when he could. He eventually took in a stray monkey and named him abu, the two being loyal best friends.
As the years passed he managed to get wind of some bread, but gave it to two orphan children knowing they needed it more than he did. As he gave them food, he curiously noticed a rich suitor for the princess but only paid attention when this suitor went to actually physically punish the two kids for getting in his path. Aladdin stood up for them, resulting in the prince telling him off as nothing more than a worthless street rat. Aladdin, angry at the insults he had heard his whole life, went home to sulk. The next day though he met a sweet, likeable young lady named jasmine through saving her from the wrath of the more sadistic salesmen. The two expressed their problems to each other and got a decent friendship. They then were confronted by guards lead by Razoul to arrest Aladdin for the claim he was kidnapping the princess. He was imprisoned and planned to be executed, only to be saved by abu and a beggar who showed him a secret passageway, in exchange for his willingness to get a lamp of some kind.
Having no option, he agreed and hunted down the lamp, only for abu to be greedy and take a jewel that wasn't there. Aladdin managed to escape, barely, but the beggar planned to kill him for his troubles. Abu thankfully saved him but now there was another problem, he was trapped in the cave of wonders, the very place he hunted for the lamp in. He rubbed said lamp out of curiosity of the writing on it. Then popped out a lamp who told him he had three wishes. Aladdin, not wanting to waste wishes, tricked the genie into getting him out. Genie, a bit impressed by the trick, still kept the three wish rule despite his irritation. Aladdin then made a deal with genie, set him free with his final wish while only using two for his own purposes. He of course used a rule to be a prince, to get a chance to romance jasmine, who he learned while in prison was the princess. Due to the rules of his land, he could only marry her if he was royal. Thanks to genie and his first wish, he got to be royal, naming himself Prince Ali. He managed to successfully woo jasmine, after being genuine and kind as opposed to showing off his magically earned money. Jafar, the royal adviser of sultan, tried to kill him, for the sake of getting the throne, but Aladdin confronted jafar and exposed his dirty tricks of manipulating the sultan. This earned the sultan genuinely liking him and jasmine finally telling her father she made her decision to marry him. Sultan, absolutely delighted, informed him of his new privileges which included being sultan once he passed. Overwhelmed by the stress of the situation, he told genie he needed to use his final wish to escape the mess he got in, earning genie's bitterness and anger.
Aladdin then changed his mind. Realizing a promise was a promise and decided to tell jasmine the truth. Only for jafar to steal his lamp, expose him dirtily and banish him to a unknown land alongside abu. Abu and him escaped and confronted jafar, saving the kingdom and honestly told jasmine he was Aladdin not ali. Which meant they couldn't marry. Genie, devastated, offered to sacrifice his freedom. Aladdin, however, knew that was selfish and his friend deserved better. He freed genie and was about to leave. But the sultan responded that he proved himself far, far, far too many times to not be rewarded. So sultan told him he was destroying the royal law and decreed that jasmine was allowed to marry whoever she wanted, regardless of their bloodline. Aladdin and jasmine became engaged not long after. But then a few months later iago, jafar's bird, returned for a handout. At first Aladdin said no but iago then saved him from a confrontation from abis mal, a thief Aladdin stole from to help the community. He hid iago away, getting heat for it again when iago got exposed by abu and rajah. He apologized to jasmine for lying again, trying to explain he was just scared. Jasmine forgave and the two made up. Aladdin became a good friend to iago, only for iago to bait him into a trap to get killed. He escaped but was shocked to see razoul imprison him for the murder of the sultan, and was even more shocked to see jasmine decree for his execution.
He was saved by genie and learned jafar was behind the entire thing, framing him for a death that was not committed. He also learned iago was the reason genie could save him. Aladdin went to confront abis mal and jafar for a second time, abis mal helping jafar as his lackey. Jafar nearly managed to go out of his way to harm him, jasmine and his friends but was saved again by a reformed iago. Iago destroyed the lamp and became one of their own. Aladdin then awaited to marry jasmine, having constant adventures along the way.
Then one day Genie and jasmine disappeared, then iago disappeared. Aladdin searched far and wide, sultan helping him out every step of the way. But then HE managed to disappear. Thankfully he found solace in critic's army, seeing jasmine and genie there. But was shocked and horrified as jafar was also here. He decided to put a end to his feud with jafar once and for all. And also get his princess back home with him
