Late Night Snack (Patch)

[Rex]

(ooc: July 23rd. Patch/Rex bonding thread. Morning.)

Rex's stomach growled. He was hungry as he had eaten what he could. But was afraid to ask for more. He was new to this place and wasn't used to eat ing much. So he ended up eating closer to 6 or 7 meals a day instead of 3 as his stomach was smaller. He paused sniffing smelling some food as he made his way to the kitchen seeing a dog food bag. He pawed at it trying to get it and accidentally knocked it over spilling some on the floor. He decided to pick up what he could and maybe hide the rest like a secret stash. That way he'd have something to eat when he was hungry and wouldn't have to bother anyone.

He also hoped he could understand why felt funny everytime he looked at Patch. Patch was the first to be nice to him outside of the pet shop. Well besides Madellaine as he'd met her briefly before Patch. He liked having a friend even though he felt nervous when around him and he wasn't sure why. He wondered if it was hunger so he'd make sure to try to be full when around his friend. He started eating. He was so focused on eating he didn't realize he was no longer alone.

Patch couldn't understand. Why did he have so many feelings for this pup? Rex gave him feelings he didn't think he could possibly have. He did talk briefly to penny about the sort of thing and she implicated it was a crush. Patch supposed that was the closest logical thing. But he didn't know how to say it to rex without offending or hurting rex's feelings. The poor pup had been on his own for a while and had been struggling with the home-life style due to it. Patch had deliberately snuck in his own food and treats just so rex could satisfy his hunger. But he knew that wasn't enough, rex needed more. He wasn't adjusted to full meals yet. Patch knew all about it because he cared so much. Patch knew that his feelings were going to burst eventually. So he decided to go find rex and be honest.

That was until he heard a crash. Not a loud one, but one that implicated something was down on the floor. Patch went to go to investigate and noticed rex immediately. Patch's heart fluttered but he also felt the familiar feeling of pity that rex still felt like he couldn't be safe here. Patch went over, sitting besides rex replying "You know rex it's okay to ask for more. They have no problem with it here" He then went over to rex replying with a smile "But I gotta say that's really cool. How'd you do that? Not even I could reach the cabinets here"
