A Touching Reunion (Open)

[Kenai]

(ooc: July 6th. Morning.)

Kenai nudged the door open making his way into the house. He could smell Koda and Nita were here. He had to find them. Koda had been missing for weeks. Nita had been missing for a few days. He'd pleaded with the Great spirits several times and only barely learned about this war before he ended up here. Now he was worried something had happened to them.

"Koda! Nita! Are you here?! Please be okay." said Kenai.

When he didn't hear anything at first he lowered his head.

"I failed again. First Sitka, then Koda's mother, then Koda, and then Nita. Maybe this is my punishment. To be alone." said Kenai.

He paused as tears went down his cheeks as he wiped them away from his paw turning to the door. He then heard voices seeing a flying duck child, a raven and a lioness arrive.

"Koda's here?" asked Kenai.

When Diablo confirmed it and asked if he was Kenai he smiled.

"Yes. It's been so long. I thought something had happened to him." said Kenai.

Gene flew in hearing the door open and then a voice. Someone was looking for Koda. He wasn't sure if this was a threat so he would go check it out before looking for Koda.

"Wait. Don't go. You're looking for Koda right? I don't know Nita but Koda's here." said Gene.

Diablo flew in also hearing voices. He nodded.

"Yes. Koda's been here. He's talked about a brother named Kenai. Are you Kenai?" thought Diablo.

Sarafina walked out hearing voices spotting Diablo and Gene with a new arrival.

"Hello. I'm Sarafina. This is Diablo and Gene. And yes he can speak telepathically." said Sarafina.

[Koda]

(OCC: Will definitely bring nita here but I would like at least a post or two dedicated to literally how excited koda is)

Koda was actually starting to give up. The group insisted they'd find him or he would come but he didn't show. Neither did nita for that matter. But kenai was his best friend and family. It felt like losing his mother all over again. But this time koda felt like he did something wrong to cause all this. Maybe if he hadn't gotten some raspberries without asking. Maybe if he didn't steal that fish many months ago. Maybe if he didn't nearly get kenai killed by sneaking into atka's village. Koda sighed, trying to sleep off his thoughts some more. Kiara then interrupted his thoughts by shoving the door and pushing on his body. Koda was about to tune her out when she said a new member came but then she said Kenai's name. Koda gasped, looking up "You're not joking are you kiara? He's here?!" He then beamed with delight.

He followed kiara and there he was. All in his caramel brown glory. His brother. Koda screamed in delight "KENAI!" He shoved the other children out of the way, too overjoyed as he pounced on his brother. He started to have tears of joy, hugging kenai tightly "You're here! You're here! You're actually here!" He turned to the group and replied with absolute joy "He's here! You were right gene, you told me he'd come!" He then hugged kenai tightly once more, nuzzling him, muttering with relief "I thought I would never see you again kenai"

Kiara went over to see a older bear crying and she felt a sense of pity. She couldn't hear most of his words but she went over, she then saw her grandmother, gene and diablo all show up to say hello. She replied "Yeah don't leave. You don't need to go!" She then widened her eyes as he asked for koda. Koda had told the children constantly about his brother and their adventures. Along with other stories but kenai was usually either a part of it or the main focus. Kiara nodded as gene and diablo confirmed. Unlike gene, there was something in kiara's gut that could tell this was him. Kiara replied "He's right here actually! I'll go get him for you!" She then rushed up the steps and saw koda trying to sleep. But she knew he would not wanna miss this. Kiara and koda had their own friendship and kiara wanted to see koda reunite.

"Koda, koda wake up! A new member came here!" She then replied "And he said his name is kenai. Your brother is here!" When koda asked for confirmation she nodded "Yep! He's downstairs! Follow me!" She was glad koda followed her and then smiled widely at the reunion.

Mickey was a bit curious when he saw loud noises. He heard koda scream but that caused mickey to get slightly paranoid. "I heard screaming what happened?" Mickey replied in nervousness. He then saw koda and kenai reunite and beamed in delight. He understood that koda was missing his family and mickey was happy for his sake. Mickey replied warmly and with delightful cheer "Welcome there pal. I'm mickey mouse. And you must be koda's brother right?"

[Kenai]

Kenai paused as Koda ran in as tears were now flowin freely from his own eyes. As he hugged Koda as if he was going to disappear again.

"I was so worried about you. I couldn't find you. I went to Sikta, your mother and the great spirits. No one knew where you went. Then Nita disappeared and they finally told me where you were and then I ended up here. You've been gone for weeks, Koda. I thought I'd lost you and Nita like I had Sitka." said Kenai.

He paused forgetting they weren't alone as he wiped away his fresh tears with his paws.

"Yes. I'm Kenai. Koda's my little brother. Well, my bear brother. I had two human brothers once. One is dead and the other's back in our world. I was human once but I made some mistakes and got turned into a bear as punishment. Once I learned my lesson they turned me human again but I couldn't leave Koda alone so they made me a bear again. And then I found Nita." said Kenai.

He paused glancing around.

"Wait. Where's Nita? She's here to right Koda?" said Kenai.

Gene watched the two reunite with a happy sigh.

"I always loved reunions like this." said Gene.

He paused seeing Kiara and Mickey arrive and waved to them. And glanced at them and at Diablo and Sarafina.

"Have you heard of this Nita? I'm assuming it's another bear but I'm not certain." said Gene.

Diablo and Sarafina both shook their heads.'

"I've never met a Nita he re." said Sarafina.

"Neither have I. But that doesn't mean she's not here. She might be lost or in one of the other armies." said Diablo.

[Nita]

Koda held onto kenai closely as his older brother confessed that back in his home area, there had been searches for him for WEEKS. Koda had a small fear that he had been overall either they would forever not be able to know where he was, where koda was powerless to acknowledge them. Or they would give up on him. He had faith in nita and kenai would search for him without giving up, but he also had a fear that they would just be doomed to never know where he was. Kenai's words both assured him kenai never stopped looking but also his guilt returned, feeling helpless to the powers that brought him here. Koda looked a little bit in shame, aware that kenai didn't want to lose him like he lost his eldest brother. Koda felt exactly similar, while kenai was responsible for his mother's death, he would have been absolutely devastated at losing him too like losing his mother.

"I wanted to find ways to come back. There's this guy named Ask thatguy who like got a weird human that uses this thing called science to teleport us all here" Koda deliberately hoped this would help kenai understand a little bit of what was going on. He saw kenai's confusion and fear, and did his obligation as the little brother to comfort him. He looked somewhat guilty "I was praying to the great spirits every night that they would let you know I was here. I guess they had a hard time finding me too. This place is weird to say the least. I'm sorry though kenai, I didn't want to disappear and scare you. I don't wanna lose you either"

He then noticed the other members introduce themselves to kenai. As well as ask about him. Kenai explained their family dynamic before also explaining nita was also missing. Koda was both worried and confused by that. He had hoped nita was home with kenai. He said as such "She's not! I thought she'd be with you!" He then worriedly replied, hearing gene and the others question who she was "She's my sister in law! We gotta find her! The thing that brought kenai here may have brought her too! She's gotta be here somewhere though!" He then heard a familiar female voice. He turned to see it belonged to a familiar bear. He beamed, delighted and relieved that his theory of her being here was correct. And that she was found once more. It was the best day of his life today. Both his brother and sister, here, at last after months of waiting. Koda, a bit impulsively, rushed over to her and pounced her too "Nita! You're here!" He then chaperoned her to kenai "She's actually here! She came here!"

Four to five days. She had been wandering for four to five days. She knew this thanks to the awareness of the passage of time. She was pretty good at it, which was why she was the time keeper most of the time she and her tribe travelled anywhere. She had since, in those few days, been scared off by civilians, nearly hunted at least once and nearly got run over by a motor device she had no idea about. Nita kept to the woods mostly, lost and very concerned. She too had been completely anxious about koda. Since turning into a bear, she had grown much closer with the cub and felt this undeniable urge to protect him. He lost his mother, so did she. No child or cub deserved to be without family. She had always been fond of koda when she was human but being a bear she didn't once regret, she knew being a bear was the best choice. Not to mention that she felt such guilt and helplessness to be unable to ease her husband's suffering. Kenai, during their weeks of search, had explained even more of why he stayed a bear. Sure, she knew it was to raise koda, but she never really got the main reason of said raising. Now that she did, it was no wonder why he was as protective as he was. If anything, the protectiveness rubbed off on her.

But now she too was gone and kenai's worry and anxiety she knew was bound to increase. For that she felt some shame and guilt. How could she be so stupid as to get lost? She was a traveler for the great spirit's sake. She had to find kenai and koda, and quickly. Because being alone was far, far less comforting. She was travelling the woods some more when she smelled familiar scents. Wait. Kenai? Nita began to sniff a little bit, yep. There was no question. That was kenai. She followed his scent, going over and then widened her eyes with joy as she finally found her husband. Even better, there was also her little brother. "Koda?! Kenai?!" She cried out and her eyes filled with tears of relief as koda indeed came over and hugged her "Oh koda! I missed you so much! You have no idea how worried I was.. I..." She then saw her husband and beamed with delight "Kenai!"

Mickey waved right back the second gene waved to him, he became a bit fond of the boy. He reminded him of a younger Donald. He agreed with gene's sentiment of enjoying family reunions with a smile "I'll say. This is quite swell" He then turned to kenai and koda, smiling before seeing kenai question about someone named nita. Then had koda explain it was his sister in law. Which meant it was kenai's wife. Ever the romantic, he grew a bit interested in finding nita. He replied to koda who grew concerned "Now don't you worry koda. We'll find her I'm sure. If kenai is here, chances are she is too" Like koda, he turned to hear a female voice and replied with a knowing smile "I think we just found her"

Kiara smiled, glad her friend reunited with his family. She had her grandmother, friend and mother but there was a time where she too was alone. She could understand. But then a pang of missing her father started to seep. Again, sometimes her father got on her nerves, but kiara was definitely still a daddy's girl and loved her father dearly. She smiled at gene who waved at her, waving politely. She then pondered about the situation about nita "Nope. Haven't seen her. But if kenai is here we can probably find her right?" She then beamed as nita showed up and she laughed as mickey confirmed that they found her "What gave it away? The fact koda said nita or the fact she remembered koda" She then smiled a bit as nita showed up.
