Why did you pick him/her?: She's such a sweet, fun character. And similar to Esmeralda in being persecuted by the villains of the film, and used to get their goals. But unlike Esmeralda, she became more than friends with Quasimodo.

Personality: quirky, fun, loving, loyal, naive, compassionate.
History:
She grew up on the streets an orphan. Her mother had died when she was very young and her father had abandoned her barely able to take care of himself. When she was six years old she tried to steal a few coins to feed herself. Only she was caught by a man named Sarousch. Instead of being turned over to the police the man was impressed. He gave her a job at his circus forcing him to rob people who came to his performances or she'd be turned over to the police. Sarousch was the closet to a friend she had and manipulated her to his best interest. Madellaine wanted to perform a high wire act in the circus but Sarousch refused her every time. She wasn't good at it but she kept practicing.
Over 10 years had passed before they approached Paris. Judge Frollo had died a few years ago and with him gone Paris was easier for them to pillage. They stole the regular money and jewelry from people during their performances but they had a bigger heist in mind. Sarousch got Madellaine to reluctantly to keep Quasimodo away from the bell tower and busy.
The first meeting Madellaine met she met him and they got along pretty good. Until she saw his appearance and freaked out. She left but Sarousch told her to return. She saw how kind Quasimodo was with Zephyr as she realized he was a good man. And the more she spent with him the more she regretted being a part of this plan. She was falling in love with Quasimodo for real. She tried to warn him but Sarousch managed to get away with the bell and also Zephyr who had tried to stop him.
Madellaine was arrested as an accomplice but she convinced them to let her help. They found Sarouch in the tunnels trying to escape but having a hostage. Phoebus and Esmeralda could only watch as he left the city. Thankfully Madellaine with Quasimodo's help manage to use a high wire act and rescue Zephyr. With his hostage gone Sarouch and his men were arrested. Madellaine was pardoned for helping catch the others and began to stay in the cathedral and began dating Quasimodo. She shouted to everyone that she loved Quasimodo as he did the same during a festival.
When Quasimodo and Zephyr both disappeared one day, Madellaine joined the search parties going with Esmeralda. But before they could do a proper search she vanished herself. And reappeared in a strange world not sure how she got here. But hoped she could find a way back home or at least find Quasimodo and Zephyr.
