Why did you pick him/her?: To make her nicer and get a couple kid friends here. Also be a rival to lilo.

Personality:
Mertle is self-absorbed, shallow, condescending, mean-spirited and extremely honest in how she feels. She's a bit of a egotist, especially when it comes to competition. She's determined to be popular and does anything she can to get there. She can be immensely judgmental and narrow-minded, tending to enjoy the reaction she gets when she hurts someone's feelings. She's petty, hypocritical and tends to be a unapologetic bully. She enjoys it when her enemies get their feelings hurt and does anything she can to be stand-offish to them. She's also confident, honest, and loyal to people she likes. She does tend to be socially understanding which is why when she is mean she usually means it. She's surprisingly sincere and underneath it all does want to be liked as herself, hence why she bullies due to being somewhat insecure with her status and herself as a person. She does have a love for her family and is loyal to those she cares about, and underneath does have a sweet nature.
History:
Mertle was raised by her parents in Hawaii, and has a strong relationship with both parents. Because of this she tends to be a bit of a spoiled brat due to her parents giving her anything she wants and she desperately tries to be socially popular to please her high status parents. Lilo, who is a orphan and usually is her weird but independent self, definitely rubbed her the wrong way ever since the two started school together. Mertle didn't understand nor want to understand why lilo did the things she did, as it was kind of too weird for her to comprehend and as such called her crazy. Lilo, unknowing how to properly respond, attacked her which settled for mertle to make it her life mission to make lilo pay for it. Despite the fact that a day later lilo humbly apologized, mertle wasn't concerned. No one, repeat NO ONE, dared mess with her and lilo did that, embarrassing her in front of her peers. Mertle would consistently bully her and when lilo did much better than her in class, mertle's anger only increased. She did everything she could to get on lilo's nerves, wanting lilo to get in trouble or even be humiliated. She sometimes failed, getting into trouble for being a bully, but sometimes she succeeded. A year or so after she adopted stitch, lilo's class was part of a important luau festival and she overheard lilo wanted to impress her mother who passed away not too long ago. Mertle confronted lilo saying she was going to lose and was never, ever going to be like her mother. This earned her the backlash mertle wanted and mertle successfully managed to get lilo into trouble. Sure she got suspended for her efforts but it was worth it to see lilo also be suspended. Then the festival happened, after some humiliation lilo got from the rehearsal and mertle was hoping lilo wouldn't show but she did and would've won were it not for her qutting her performance.
Mertle never let lilo live it down, that is until her teacher threatened to suspend her again then she finally let it go. But she proceeded to continue annoying lilo until the brat disappeared alongside her sister. Mertle hoped lilo moved but instead she found herself in the same position and stuck in a world she doesn't understand. Now she resides here, contemplating how to get home.
