In 1907 she married 1st Lieutenant Christopher Jenkins but he died a year later making her a widow. Sadly he wasn't very wealthy so she took what jokes she could for the next couple of years. In April 2011 she was approached by Whitemore Industries but she declined the offer. In December 2011 she accepted the offer and became the bodyguard for bodyguard and chauffeur to Whitmore.
Helga joins the crew that finds Shephard's Journal in Iceland. Rourke and Helga enlisted a team to steal the crystal to sell it for profit but use Whitemore and Milo Thatch to help them find it not letting either of them know their plans. They just tell them they want to help find Atlantis. Helga recruited Milo to the team and soon they were off for Atlantis. Whitmore was too old and feared he wouldn't survive the voyage so he trusted them to find Atlantis and bring back proof later.
However, the Leviathan attacked the ship. Most of the crew was destroyed with the ship. The few survivors fled onto a mini-sub with Helga piloting it. With what few supplies they managed to recover they continued on their journey to Atlantis. Once there Milo befriends Kida as she takes them to the city. He bonds with Kida learning about the Atlantean culture.
When Helga and the others try to steal the crystal, Kida bonds with it to protect it. Milo is punched by Rourke but Milo has convinced Audrey, Vinny, Sweet, Packard, Cookie, and Mole this was wrong. They stand with Milo while Rourke and Helga take the few others away with Kida planning to escape in a balloon. Milo leads his friends and Atlanteans after Kida. Rourke and Helga take off in a balloon abandoning their few allies who had sided with them as they are killed off during the firefight. The balloon needs to be lightened so Rourke shoves Helga off. She is fatally wounded and in retaliation, she fires a flare shot as she passes away. The shot blows up the balloon killing Rourke. Kida is rescued and reunited with the others.
She wakes up in another world and learns of the war. She joins Ask That Guy's Army and is amused to hear Milo, Vinny and Audrey are in one of the other armies. She blames them as much as Rourke for their failure. The crystal was her chance to get rich after everything she'd been through and they'd ruined everything. She was going to make them all pay.
