Siri walked out into the woods alone. She scratched a tree in frustration. It had been a few months since she'd gotten here but she'd fallen hard for the tiger. But she hadn't gotten to spend much time with him alone. She didn't even know if he liked her.
"I have to get it together. I have to prove to Shere Khan and myself that I am a worthy mate. I just need to get him to notice me." said Siri.

Shere-Khan was definitely interested in siri, but he wasn't surprised that they hadn't really been a item. It was due to their encounters mostly being group oriented. Training and whatnot. This was because they both were settling in to the army, trying to find their place. They had many things in common, one being a disinterest and dislike towards humans. He then went to finally settle in the outside woodlands area, the only place he could truly be alone when he saw siri in the tree. Scratching away in frustration. He could understand that habit, he used to do it as a cub but he grew out of it.
He couldn't help but smile as he managed to hear a tiny bit of what she said. She expressed this frustration due to wanting to be noticed. He decided to be a little playful and finally get the story straight and ask her to be his mate. He replied "You could get my attention by perhaps coming down and laying on the grass beside me if you would like" He then laid down on said grass, leaving open space for her to come to him. He replied "Might I say you look lovely in the sunshine, dear siri?"
Siri paused hearing Shere Khan and realized he was practically next to her and blushed. She had been scratching from the ground so it was easy to join him but she was still embarrassed slightly he'd not only snuck up on her but heard what she said.
"You heard that?" asked Siri.
She found herself blushing as he said she looked lovely in the sunshine. Being trapped on an island with barely anything to eat and no real company had been rather lonely. But now meeting Shere Khan she'd hadn't felt so alive. And was he flirting with her or just teasing her.
"Would you like to be mates?" asked Siri.
She put it out there. She knew he could have any c at he chose. Or perhaps he didn't even want to settle down yet. But she had to ask to see if she had a chance with him.
Shere-Khan wasn't exactly unsurprised she didn't notice him. He was good at being secretive. He had to be in order to avoid people in the first place. Plus he was feared by other animals. It made it a tad challenging to just outright approach people, it was best to be stealthy. He shrugged at her question "I did. Could not help but be curious" He then smiled a tad as siri was straight and to the point. She asked him outright. While he was planning to ask HER, he was not unwelcome to her being the first approacher to it. Shere-Khan would never admit this to most, but he had been lonely back home but was so focused on revenge he forced down his loneliness by being angry. Being here though, it made him surprisingly calmer. He awaited for her to lay down, as he trusted her enough to not hurt him. He nodded though at her question "Yes. I do. That is why I am here. To ask you the same thing" He relaxed a bit more, wanting to let her come to him and not make her nervous. He recalled from conversation she was unused to wild felines due to being the only one. He wanted her to gain trust. He replied kindly "We are kindred spirits, you and I. I think we could have a very happy life together"
