In For A Surprise (Open)

[Professor Padraic Ratigan]

(ooc: July 11th. Evening.)

Ratigan was still amazed at his new height. He was now the size of humans and it amazed him. He was probably 5 or 6 feet tall by now. He'd have to find a way to measure later for sure. He was grateful his clothes grew with him. He wasn't sure what happened but he wasn't complaining. He was exploring the circus though curious to see who might be around to help him.

"Hello? Is there anyone here?" asked Ratigan.

Ratigan's eyes twitched as he grabbed Lucas and threw him up against the building.

"What did you call me?" asked Ratigan, angrily.

"I am a mouse! Not a rat!" said Ratigan.

He was so wrapped up in his anger he didn't realize he was starting to choke the boy. Suddenly something hit the back of his he and he was out cold and passed out onto the ground.

Lucas has also arrived at the circus. And he was stunned to see the giant rat. At first he thought it was a carnival trick or a costume but he'd seen the thing grow right in front of his eyes as if by magic.

"Incredible. A size changing rat." said Lucas.

Lucas gasped as Ratigan grabbed him and held him against thet wall and even had raised him into the air. His feet weren't even touching the ground anymore.

"I'm sorry." gasped Lucas, trying to breathe.

He couldn't get Ratigan's hands off him so he was just hoping he could calm him down. Suddenly he was free and oin the ground gasping for air seeing Ratigan was unconscious.

"Thank you." said Lucas.

John heard the commtion. He rushed it strirking the rat knocking him away from Lucas. He checked on Lucas seeing he was alright.

"Now see here mister..."

He paused seeing Ratigan was unconscious on the ground and realized he'd hit him so hard he knocked him out. He blushed feeling quite ashamed as his motto as a doctor was to do no harm. He reluctantly walked over to him to check for wounds.

John glared at the vampire before glancing back at both of his current patients.

Myotismon chuckled.

"Well you don't see that every day. Giant mice attacking people. At least you have some uses after all doctor." said Myotismon.

Lena sighed as she walked out as she originally was going for a walk but she stopped as she saw the commotion. She was there only for two days so far but she never seen what she saw at that moment. A giant rat or a mouth lying unconscious and some others there and sighed. Lena tried to understand what was going on. Or what was going on because the big bring was knocked out cold. Lena raised two eyebrows and then she run over at Lucas despite the fact that they never met before but since he seemed to have trouble breathing she wanted to check on him.

"Are you alright? What the hell happened here? What did I possibly missed and what is that lying there? Mouse or what? I am confused," she said as she looked between Lucas, Watson and Ratigan. Then at the other person there. To say that she was confused was an understatement of the century. She sighed as she examind Lucas or tried to, to make sure that he had no wounds on him or such, and then looked at the one unconscious once more.

Lex walked out of the building as he froze as he saw a woman he never met, a and some guys and one being unconscious and sighed. He looked at them all and sighed not saying a word for a few minutes. As Lex had no idea what to say so he just stared at them confused.

"What's going on? I had no idea that there was a fight here or whatever it was that happened here. What did happen here? And what is that giant mouse or rat or something doing here? Who made it and why? Why is it here? And who are all of you? Why are you here? Are you part of this army or something?"

The Trickster, Mary and Moriarty all noticed at last minute that Ratigan lost his temper and attacked the boy Lucas. The Trickster approached alongside John to check on ratigan and nodded approvingly, being less bullying than mytisomon was. He replied to him "Well done doctor. Were it not for your quick thinking heaven knows if the boy would be alright" He then helped john move him and replied "Well he has the appearance of a rat but obviously it's best to refer to him as a mouse once he comes to. He has a lot of explaining to do in the meantime"

Moriarty went over to Lucas and helped him up "Hmf. I do hope you're alright young man" He then replied "Allow me to apologize on the rodent's behalf. I assure you that type of behavior is not tolerated here. I am Professor Moriarty and the person who assisted you is Dr. John Watson" He then nodded to John "Well done with that by the way. Very impressive" He knew their relationship was still strained but he hoped his words would pacify john some more. He then turned to ratigan and replied as Trickster said he had some explaining to do "Indeed. He does. If he wishes to join us, he certainly needs to keep that temper of his in tact"

Mary however was a bit nervous. Just because he was knocked out did not mean he was safe. If anything it made him unpredictable. She admired her husband's courage but was terrified what would happen if ratigan woke up "Don't be so close to him john please. Please be careful. If he can attack a poor boy like that he can do anything" She then noticed two more new people come by along with a dragon and a woman come by. She replied to Lena and Lex "This is a long story. Basically that... rodent over there attacked this poor boy because of some accidental misnaming. You are at the Facilier Army and you both are welcome here. I assure you we're civilized around here I promise" She then offered her hand "I'm Mary. Mary Watson"

Drizella was walking, minding her own business when suddenly a rat-like creature screamed then attacked a boy, nearly choking him to death. Drizella rushed over, feeling sorry for the poor boy. She then listened as mary explained to Lena and Lex what happened. She then angrily replied "That thing could've killed him! I say send him away! Let that freak go somewhere else! That type of behavior is so unacceptable!" She then went over to the boy concernedly and replied "Are you alright? Oh my goodness. Such a savage to attack you like that!"

Drako meanwhile was witnessing the whole argument and felt a bit bad for the poor rat. It wasn't like the rat meant to kill him. For all they knew the magic messed with his mind. Drako went by, growling in annoyance at drizella's meddling. He then replied in the rat's defense "Excuse me I hate to interrupt but I think all this talk does not give us answers, instead it causes more drama" He then realized he was completely new here and replied "Apologies. I am Drako and I could not help but notice this going on" He then continued to speak for ratigan's defense and explained why he was defending him "I do not really know why he attacked but it is clear something made him angry. I do not think he meant to exactly kill the boy. I think we should let him awaken and speak for himself. For all we know the magic that made him grow might of messed with his mind, making him believe things that were not there. He could've been delusional. We need to let him speak for himself"

He then turned to Watson, trickster and moriarty replying "I agree he owes a explanation, and I am not saying what he did was right but I still think we should not banish him yet. I think we need to let him awaken and get used to the place. For all we know the magic might've had a side effect and hurt him. He might need assistance. As do some of us who are lost"

Lucas paused as Drizella came to his defense and he grinned.

"I'm okay now. I must admit when I first saw you I'd thought and died and gone to heaven. Because I've met an angel." said Lucas.

He was surprised as Moriarty helped him up.

"Well thank you. Glad to see some people have some common manners." said Lucas.

He paused seeing Lena and chuckled.

"I'm quite fine. And while you may be beautiful yourself I'm more of a one-woman kind of guy." said Lucas.

He paused turning back to Drizella ignoring everyone else for now. Just focused on the beautiful girl in front of him.

"I'm Lucas Luthor. Do I get to know your name or do I have to guess angel?" asked Lucas.

He paused glancing at the others and grinned sheepishly.

"I may have set him off by accident. I just mentioned he was a giant rat and he went crazy." said Lucas.

Lucas paused as the rat spoke. He smiled with a grin.

"That's quite alright. I'm sorry if I offended you. You were pretty fast. You'd be a powerful addition to the army. I vote he stays. Just maybe have him take some anger management classes or something. I'd rather have him as an ally than an enemy." said Lucas.

John rolled his eyes at Lucas's pick up lines. The guy thought he was smoother than he was. But that wasn't his job. Sometimes he wondered how he'd even gotten Mary to fall for him. He'd done something right and he still wished she wasn't here. Even if she'd been in Critic's army it'd been better. He'd rather never see her again and for her be safe than stuck here. But he just had to hope this war would be over soon.

"Hello, Mary." whispered John, glad to see his wife despite the circumstances.

He paused glancing at the others.

"I don't know what happened. But it appears the boy is recovering enough to talk. But we shouldn't crowd him. Perhaps someone could fetch some water for him." said John.

John glanced over at Ratigan examining him.

"I'm sorry for knocking you out. I was only trying to shove you away from him. I hit too hard but I'm glad you're okay." said John.

He gave him some medicine.

"Well Professor Moriarty, I think he'll do ok. Perhaps you should take him under your wing." said John.

Myotismon shrugged.

"This has been one of the most entertaining arrivals. And we should hear both sides before we condemn him." said Myotismon.

When Lucas said he called him a rat Myotismon glared at him.

"And how do you know that's not an insult where he comes from? You should choose your words more carefully in the future." said Myotismon.

"Myotismon nodded.

"Well now that everything's explained I say we welcome them both. It was a misunderstanding. Nothing more." said Myotismon.

Ratigan groaned waking up wondering what hit him. He saw there was a big crowd and the boy was off to the side. He had calmed down a little overhearing part of the conversation. He stood up and brushed himself off.

"My apologies. The vampire of there speaks the truth. I do not like that word. I am a mouse. I lost my temper and for that I'm sorry. " said Ratigan.

Ratigan was surprised the human forgave him so easily and even asked him to join.

"Yes. I'm usually more calm and collected. I rarely get mad and when I do I just lose control. I'll try to do better." said Ratigan.

He paused seeing the man who hurt him was a doctor and clearly was doing his duty to protect.

"That's quite alright. It smarts a little but you were just doing your duty. I'm grateful I wasn't killed or thrown in a cell while I was out." said Ratigan.

He paused seeing Moriarty off to the side and was in shock.

"You're Professor Moriarty? I'm not worthy to be in your presence. We often shared hideouts in my world but I never got to meet you. Only hear of your great deeds. Detectives just seem to be a problem for both of us." said Ratigan.

He paused looking over at Drako.

"My what an amazing creature. I've never seen anything like you before." said Ratigan.

The Trickster turned to see both Ratigan and Lucas confirm that basically Ratigan was set off due to Lucas referring to him as a rat. Which was a trigger button for Ratigan. He nodded, very satisfied that ratigan owned up to it and promised to keep his temper in check. He had no overall problem with letting Ratigan stay, especially since lucas himself spoke in his defense. If the boy had no problem with it Trickster saw no issue. Trickster smiled to them both and replied "I agree with Mytisomon I believe this is best left as a misunderstanding and let by gones be by gones" He then bowed to ratigan and lucas respectively "Welcome to you both. I am Trickster"

Mary was very pacified when ratigan came to and admitted his wrong doings. While mary overall was still nervous, she was willing to be forgiving herself. Especially since her husband and moriarty seemed to let it go too. Moriarty letting violence go was no surprise but if john found it in his heart to forgive, why not she do too? She then smiled as her husband whispered to her a hello. She gave him a quick kiss on the cheek "Hello John" She did it quickly as to not overall embarrass her husband in front of his master. She listened as both lucas and ratigan overall explained why he attacked and basically came to a truce quite quickly. If anything ratigan owned up to it quite maturely despite himself. He seemed to have some form of manners.

Mary smiled to him and lucas replying "Yes. Please. Welcome" She then replied "I think it's best we go inside" She then turned to john "I'll get our new guests some water"

Moriarty meanwhile was observant thus far and allowed everyone to speak before he himself said anything. After getting all the facts, he gave a curt approving nod "Ah. So it was just a misunderstanding" He listened to ratigan explain he normally was not like this, that he usually behaved more rationally "You know something. I believe you. I genuinely believe that you normally can behave rationally. I blame the fact that you just arrived here and are overwhelmed by the new group. However, best we try to keep the temper in check" He then turned to lucas "As for you, best we try to be discreet with our words in the future if you would not mind" He then turned to see Ratigan basically react very excitedly at him. Moriarty couldn't help but smile, it was always nice to have a fan praise him. It did wonders for his ego.

He then listened as Ratigan said he admired him from afar but never got the chance due to, well, being a small animal. He then said that detectives were always a problem. He knew ratigan was referring to holmes and as john suggested to take him under his wing, moriarty couldn't help but smile at this opportunity presenting itself. Taking Ratigan as a student or apprentice would help him immensely, especially since ratigan had known his work in the past. He replied "I completely agree, Dr. Watson. My new friend, it seems we have a common goal" He then offered his hand to ratigan "How would you like to be a apprentice of mine for the time being? Our alliance can benefit us both"

Drizella was a bit uncomfortable with letting Ratigan stay but she forced her words down, for once, purely because Lucas genuinely didn't seem to have a problem with him. At least not anymore. If he was fine with it drizella didn't see the need to be the bad guy in this situation. Then suddenly, this boy started to flirt with her. Wait, this cute adorable boy was flirting with HER? Drizella grinned ear to ear. Dr. John might have found it lame and corny, but she was eating it up. She giggled as she was called angel, a person sent from heaven. She then started to get excited when Lucas specifically flirted with her and not any other girls. For the first time ever, she was the one being persued. And that felt great. She giggled some more and replied "Oh stop it you're such a sweetheart. You're making me blush" It was true. This type of thing she wasn't used to but she definitely didn't dislike it.

She then replied "Lucas Luthor? Oh what a lovely name" She then cursied for him, remembering her mother insisting that when a man spoke to her she did this. She replied "I'm Drizella. Drizella Tremaine" She then replied to him excitedly "So if you're a one woman kind of man? Does this mean you would like to get together with me?" She then got annoyed at mytisomon criticized him. Yes, he could've been a bit more careful but how was it his fault? The vampire needed to mind his business. She stood up for him one more time "Ok, how was he supposed to know it would upset him? It's a misunderstanding! It was a accident" She then turned to lucas, whispering "Ignore him. You did nothing wrong"

Drako meanwhile was quite pleased this drama dissipated quite quickly. If anything it was handled quite well. They seemed like a normal, easy to handle group that could handle anything thrown their way. Maybe it was best Drako himself stay here. After all it was his only lead to how he actually managed to be here. He then turned to Watson and smirked at him "Guess you do not know your strength I suppose. Still, you just were trying to make peace. I respect that" He then turned to Ratigan as he explained his side. Although it didn't seem like magic messed with his mind, he definitely was overwhelmed from lucas' response of calling him a rat. Drako understood ratigan's annoyance all too well. He did not like to be reminded of things from his past or his misdeeds at all. He turned to Ratigan replying "I can understand your anger all too well. I too have a bad temper, we will be careful not to call you that in the future"

He then was surprised when Ratigan started to admire him. Call him a amazing creature. Drako smiled amusedly. Oh this was definitely someone he liked. Drako chuckled at ratigan, finding the rat to be surprisingly flattering replying "I am what is known in this world as a dragon. We are a relatively rare species" He then looked the rat up and down before replying "You have immense power and skill. Keep that temper in check and you can be unbeatable. We definitely could be allies you and I"
