Where is this character from? The Great Mouse Detective
Why did you pick him/her?: he's one of my favorite characters from one of my favorite movies.

Personality: serious, charming, loyal, smart, selfless, proud, sophisticated, impatient, sarcastic, arrogant, eccentric. He was more of a recluse detective at first solving cases by himself. His relationship with Mrs. Judson is testy at best with his experiments damaging things of hers at times. But he does respect her and tries to make up for things to her. Befriending Dr. Dawson and Olivia was a surprise. She was kidnapped rather quickly so most of the adventure he was hanging out with Dr. Dawson but they grew closer. And he became a respected colleague and friend. So even after the case was over and Ratigan was beaten he called Dawson his partner who accepted.
He's not been very lucky in the love department. He pretended to love people on cases, charming people when necessary to get information or get out of trouble. He even had a thing for Dr. Dawson once but never acted on it not wanting to ruin their friendship. He was attracted to both male and females but he never found anyone that drew his attention for long. He once said his true love was crime fighting and after a while he believed it. And he decided to stop trying fearing even if he did find someone his life was too dangerous to risk someone else getting hurt. Especially with the many close calls he and Dawson had been on.
History:
Basil meets Dawson and Olivia who'd he found looking for Baker Street. Basil is dismissive of them at first until learning her father was kidnapped by a bat with a peg leg. And he
knew that was Fidget, Ratigan's henchman. The trio rode Toby to the toy store where they found Fidget stealing parts from toys and during the chase Fidget escaped with Olivia. Basil blamed Dawson at first in anger before realizing they weren't to blame. He tried to apologise to Dawson but when Dawson found the list they rushed back to Baker Street. Basil dissolved it in his chemical set and found out all the clues pointed to a pub by the waterfront.
After getting disguises Basil and Dawson headed to the pub. Unfortunately for them many of the people there were working for Ratigan. They drugged Dawson's drink but Basil could tell it was drugged. He dragged a drugged Dawson after Fidget which led them into a trap. Ratigan mocked him for being late and that he had failed. Ratigan said he'd finally defeated Basil and he and the gang all laughed. This broke Basil to an extent as he felt Ratigan had outsmarted him. He was tied up with Dawson with several death traps aimed at them as Ratigan couldn't decide on one. He then left with his army off to Buckingham Palace.
Dawson was able to snap Basil out of it as he used the traps to free them and Olivia. They headed off to the palace Ratigan used a robotic queen built by Hiram to try to take over the kingdom. And tied up the real queen trying to kill her. Basil, Dawson and Olivia freed the queen and Hiram ending his plans as the robotic queen malfuctioned and shut down. Ratigan and Fidget fled taking Olivia as a hostage using a flying machine. Basil, Dawson and Hiram gave chase in their own fly ing machine. Ratigan trew Fidget off the ship into the river below before cr ashing into the clocktower as Basil jumped on. Basil passed Olivia to Hiram and Dawson leaving Basil and Ratigan to fight. They fought ended in what appeared to be a stalemate as both fell from the clocktower. Thankfully Basil had a piece of Ratigan's flying machine and used it to tmake it up to join the others in their flying machine.Hiram and Olivia left returning to their shop while Basil and Dawson began a partnership solving crimes as their seconed was a missing ring.
After many solved cases Basil disappeared and found himself in another world. And to his amazement he was now human size. Some recent spell had grown all the tiny members in all three armies as well as future members to human size. And to his delight there was a Sherlock Holmes in this army. Not one from his world but similar enough that made him pleased. He'd always admired the man and while his house had been in 221B as well. It was an honor to get to speak with him.
