Is Someone There? (Open)

[Bernard]

(ooc: June 13th. Morning.) Bernard was nervous as he stumbled into the house. He was cold and it was a terrible storm outside. 

"Hello? Anybody home?" asked Bernard.

He shivered looking for something to dry himself with. Soon people and animals began arriving. When one of them recognized him, he was surprised.

"You know Cody? I didn't expect to see him here. How did I end up in Australia?" asked Bernard.

He took the washcloth and began trying to dry off. When Duke Nukem said he was tough he smiled nervously but glad they weren't going to throw him out either.

"Thanks, I think." said Bernard.

Penny heard a voice as she walked out.

"Hello. Mr. Mouse? Have you come to join?" asked Penny.

She paused realizing he looked cold.

"There are towels in the bathroom but I can't really reach them. Not tall enough and don't have any hands." said Penny.

She barked hoping someone could hear her.

Bill walked out with Dr. Smith spotting the two small animals.

"What is a drowned rat doing here?" asked Bill.

He paused realizing Bernard was still alive.

"Wait, I guess he's just a soaked rat." said Bill.

Dr. Smith recognized the mouse.

"That's Bernard. He helped rescue my adopted son Cody from a crazy poacher who tried to kill him and few animals. Welcome." said Dr. Smith.

He paused running to the bathroom and returned with a washcloth handing it to the mouse to use to dry.

"You're not in Australia. It's well complicated." said Dr. Smith.

Dark Nella walked out with Duke Nukem spotting the new arrival and the assembled group.

"Welcome, Bernard. I am Dark Nella." said Dark Nella.

Duke Nukem spotted the tiny mouse and smirked.

"If the guy can survive that storm out there he's definitely a tough little mouse. Worthy of staying here." said Duke Nukem.

[Virgil Sanders]

Virgil was focused on a video game when heard Penny's cries. Hearing her clearly calling out for people, he rushed to see what the commotion was about. Turned out quite a few people turned up not long after he did and it turned out to be Bernard. One of cody's friends. He turned to bernard who asked if he was once again in australia and Dr. Smith replying it was complicated. Virgil smirked at that and replied sarcastically "Complicated is putting it mildly doc. This isn't complicated. It's freaking insane" He then turned to bernard and replied calmly, or rather as calmly as he could be "Basically you're in a new universe entirely. And not only that you're not the only one who got transported here. Most if not all of us got here. Including your pal cody" He then turned to see the boy in question come by "Speaking of which"

"I swear I keep missing all the invites to the parties ya'll have here" Jack replied jokingly. He swayed casually as he noticed the little mouse. He made a very, very slight pleased face at the sight of him. Jack loved all types of animals, but he had a strange fondness for mice and rats in particular. It may have had to do with the fact he grew up with a hamster as a child. It may also had to do with the fact he did have a rat companion for many years before the rat sadly died of old age. Regardless, jack was kind of pleased to see bernard join their ranks. He replied "Hey there little guy. I'm Jack" He then gave a slightly concerned look as he saw bernard covered in a towel "Damn. Hope you weren't in that storm for too long. It's a mess" He then turned to cody who happily saw him

"Did someone say my name?" Cody asked concernedly then he noticed the large group of people, his father included and bernard on the ground covered in a towel all wet. Cody, overwhelmed with joy and concern, went over to bernard picked him up and gave him a careful but affectionate hug. Cody replied "Bernard! Hey little mate! I'm so glad to see you! What are you doing here all by yourself?" He then turned to smith and replied "Dad! We should get him something to eat or some place warmer in the house!"

[Bernard]

Bernard was surprised at so many people. They were all quite friendly and he smiled as some said he was tough for surviving in that storm.

"Thanks. I'm part of a rescue society of mice. We help out animals and people in danger. I've probably been out in worse than that. But usually, I'm not alone." said Bernard.

He grinned seeing Cody arrive.

"Cody! I didn't expect to see you here." said Bernard.

He paused glancing at Dr. Smith.

"You're Cody's father? Well I'm glad I could help return him to you." said Cody.

Bernard listened.

"So you adopted him here? That was very kind of you." said Bernard.

Suddenly Dark Nella waved his hand and he and his clothes were dry and the washcloth was gone. Like he'd never been in the storm.

"What just happened?" asked Bernard.

Penny grinned seeing Cody and Bernard reunited. After he was magically dried by Dark Nella she giggled.

"Magic! Dark Nella can use magic. Well she's one of them here." said Penny.

Dr. Smith nodded.

"Well, yes and no. I'm his sort of adopted father. I know he had a mother in his old world. But if he had a father I don't know. The movie didn't mention one. And it's just to keep him safe. I didn't want him to go off into fostercare or run off into the streets. He'd be safer here with us. I can't have children myself. I had some once but they were all killed. I asked Cody and he let me adopt him. I finally have a child of my own. Well second I guess. I kind of took in another boy back in my world like a foster son. Raised him to an adult and then I ended up here. I don't know what happened to him." said Dr. Smith.

When he heard Cody's wor ds he nodded.

"Of course. Perhaps someone could fetch a blow dryer. It might help warm him quicker." said Dr. Smith.

He smiled as Virgil joined them.

"Good to see you again Virgil." said Dr. Smith.

Bill raised an eyebrow at Jack's words.

"We have parties? Since when?" asked Bill.

Dark Nella waved her hand drying the mouse and his clothes instantly and sending the washcloth to the laundry pile by magic.

"There. Now he's dry. We couldn't have our new friend get sick. But he might be hungry. Does anyone know if we have anything he might like? Like cheese?" asked Dark Nella.

Duke Nukem shrugged.

"I basically eat energy myself. So I'm usually in the labs eating. If we don't have cheese someone could just go to the store to get some." said Duke Nukem.

[Grim Reaper]

(OCC: Putting in grim and Bianca first then I'll eventually put in Jake)

"I didn't expect to see you here either Bernard!" Cody said with a smile. He then was quiet as Dr. Smith explained his situation of adoption. He also was slightly quiet during the rest of certain comments until Bernard asked what happened to him "Well as penny said, miss nella is magical, she just used her powers to help you get dry" He then turned to notice people talk about cheese and jack volunteering to go find some. He then noticed two new people arrive and one of them being someone else he knew "Miss Bianca? You're here too!" He got excited and then turned to Grim and replied "Thank you mister for finding my other friend" He did this while carefully holding Bernard. He then commented "Wait miss nella, is it possible you can make Bernard and miss Bianca a bit bigger so they won't get so cold or caught up by the weather?"

"Good to see you too doc" Virgil said with a kind smile. He knew logan liked the doctor but virgil personally also liked the doctor. He was nicer and less annoying that insuedo and insano were. Sure insano and insuedo were brilliant and they had good moments, but insuedo tended to be mushy-gushy especially with his boyfriend and insano was just plain crazy. He then turned to notice Jack volunteer to get cheese and he commented, as both Bianca and grim arrived "Make that a double order cause we got another mouse!" He then turned to grim and smirked to him "Well basically you're in a new universe with a war between three sides, you're on ask thatguy's side. We're all kind of stuck here until we fix the travel problem" He then replied as grim introduced himself "Awesome! You're the grim reaper!"

"Oh oh dear it's so cold outside! And I'm so lost!" Bianca had no idea how or why she got here but she simply did. She knew for a fact she had to find her husband though, he was either in trouble or she was and needed to return to him. She got caught up in some winds before a couple of boney hands grabbed her. She smiled to her new ally who cleaned her up and went with her to a house to get some shelter. She replied "I think that's a good idea thank you sir" She then turned to see Bernard and Cody, and she replied with a huge smile "Oh Bernard! I'm so glad you're here too! I thought I lost you" She then turned to cody and replied "Oh cody dear, I'm so happy to see you're doing well" She then turned to see grim offer her to grow some size and she replied sweetly "I don't know. What do you think Bernard? It could be a bit helpful given our new situation"

Grim was a bit confused and definitely cold thanks to the poor weather. He was about to grumble to the nearest house and threaten to get a place when he saw a poor, small white mouse caught up by the winds. Grim always had a soft spot for animals, small ones in particular despite his reputation and assisted her "Here ya go there miss. Let me help ya" He then got a small umbrella for her and then replied "I'm lost meself, what do ya say we go find a place to stay huh?" He then walked over to a nearby house where there seemed to be a group talking and replied "Excuse me, ya got a spare room for me and me little friend here?" He then listened to the conversation as Bianca, as she was called, talked to another mouse who seemed to be a friend of hers. He then replied "So, um, I take it you guys let people in here? You have a idea what's going on?"

He then listened as virgil explained and he replied "Well if it's a war I might as well help out to get back to me home" He then realized for a second that he was in a new universe, alone, free. That was great but he didn't really revel in it yet as he heard the young blonde boy talk about the mice's situation. He then replied "Hey kid. I can help your friends grow to a larger size. I'm magical meself, I have all the powers of the underworld. After all I'm the grim reaper" He then smiled as virgil proclaimed praise and grim replied "Finally, some people know me"

Jack turned to bill's statement with a confused eyebrow raised, he replied calmly "It's a expression. I was being sarcastic" He then turned to see nella use her powers and then listened to all the conversations about feeding Bernard. He replied "I'm sure there's some cheese somewhere" He then volunteered "Don't sweat it. I'll get some" He then turned to see grim and Bianca and nodded to virgil's statement "Double the cheese and a new robe for the skeleton guy" He then went to check into the kitchen for some things

[Bernard]

Bernard grinned.

"Well, this is a very good reunion. I haven't run into anyone else from back home. I just hope my wife Bianca and the others are alright back home." said Bernard.

He then froze hearing a familiar voice.

"Bianca!" said Bernard.

He rushed over pulling her into a hug.

"I didn't think you'd be here but the last thing I remember was we were together before I got caught up in that storm. I couldn't see anything out there. I could have lost you." said Bernard.

He knew she could take care of herself but he was a worrier by nature. And if they'd been together they might have stood a better chance out there. They'd been lucky to find this house.

"You are okay right? Are you hurt? Someone fetch a doctor." said Bernard.

At Penny's words, he grinned sheepishly.

"You're right. I guess I worry too much sometimes." said Bernard.

When Jack offered to get some cheese for them he smiled.

"Thank you sir." said Bernard.

When they said they could make them bigger he was surprised.

"Human-sized mice? It seems unnatural. But I suppose we would be safer." said Bernard.

Penny giggled.

"I think she's alright Bernard. She'd be the first to tell everyone if she wasn't." said Penny.

She paused at the mention of making them both grow.

"You can do that?" asked Penny.

Bill paused in alarm.

"Making animals human size. Would that work on all animals? Like the snakes can be scary already. Making Kaa or Hiss bigger would be intimidating but be harder to hide them too." said Bill.

He paused at Jack's words and nodded.

"Oh. I see. I don't really get out much so some things I never really heard of before." said Bill.

He paused seeing Grim Reaper arrive and paled a little nervous.

"You've come to join us right? Not send us to the afterlife?" asked Bill.

When Grim Reaper spoke more he relaxed and grinned.

"Welcome aboard then. We could use all the help we can get." said Bill.

Dr. Smith grinned.

"I still find it fascinating you've split from the same person and yet are different. You could both pass for twins." said Dr. Smith

He paused leaning closer and whispered to him.

"Promise me you'll watch out for Logan when I'm not on the field. I seem to spend more time in the lab these days than out there. I know he can take care of himself but I lost thousands of children, and an adopted son in my world before I came here. I have a new son and Logan but I don't think I can handle another loss. And plus Chuckles has already threatened that I find a way to keep you both safe. He can be very... imaginative with that ring of his. I still can't look at knives the same way anymore." whispered Dr. Smith.

He shuddered at the thought.

Duke Nukem saw a second mouse and the Grim Reaper show up.

"Whoa. The Grim Reaper himself. Kind of ironic we keep getting so many death guys here. First Hades, then Shang Tsung and now Grim Reaper. Hope that's not a bad sign." said Duke Nukem.

He smiled.

"Welcome, Reaper. Just keep the reaping to the other armies ok?" said Duke Nukem, teasing him a little.

Dark Nella smiled at the newest arrivals.

"Welcome, Bianca. Welcome, Grim Reaper. We are always eager for new arrivals." said Dark Nella.

She paused at the questions about size.

"It would take time to do a spell like that. And Bill is right. Cast wrong it could make every animal big and that could cause more problems. I'll have to look into it with help from Loki, La, and other sorcerers of the army to do it right." said Dark Nella.
