Where is this character from? Clash of the Titans (1981 version)
Why did you pick him/her?: a character from one of my favorite movies. And be fun for him to meet his half-brother Hercules and have brother bonding.
Picture:
Personality: Cunning, smart, brave, loyal, resourceful; swift; passionate. He loved Andromeda upon first seeing her and rescued her from Calibos and the Kraken fighting other monsters along the way. He loved his parents but his mother died before he started his adventure. He gained a new motherly figure from his new mother-in-law who was honored and proud to have him join her family.
History:
Perseus is the grandson of King Archisus of Argos. A prophecy said his grandson would one day kill him so Archisus had his daughter and grandson sent out to sea to their death. They survived by the child was a result of an affair with Zeus making Perseus a demigod. Poseidon killed Archisus and sent the Kraken to destroy Argos in revenge. He grew up in Seriphos with his mother but she died while he was still a teenager and he ended up growing into adulthood on his own.
One day he woke up in Joppa moved there by the goddess Thetis. He is granted gifts from the gods. A helmet of invisibility, a shield of invincibility, and an enchanted sword. Using these he freed Andromeda from Calibos and his curse cutting off the creature's hand and beating his riddle. Unfortunately losing the helmet in the swamp in the process. He proposed to Andromeda but during their wedding ceremony, the Queen Cassiopeia's boastfulness of her daughter's beauty as being more beautiful than anything on heaven and earth including Thetis caused the goddess to be angry. For insulting her and wounding her son Calibos she demanded Andromeda to be sacrificed 30 days from now as a virgin to the Kraken or all of Joppa would be destroyed.
Pegasus was captured by Calbios making Perseus's journey harder. To replace the helmet Athena had Hephaestus craft a metallic owl to act like her pet to give Perseus help as Zeus told her to give Bobo to Perseus but she couldn't part with him so she figured this would be good enough. Bobo led Perseus and the others to the witches. After stealing their eye they traded information about Medusa and her gaze would destroy the Kraken and its blood being deadly. Perseus returned their eye and fled to safety taking the few men with him who survived the journey there. Andromeda had followed the group but eventually left with Ammon to do her duty and save her people in case Perseus failed. Or didn't return in time.
He fought several creatures including a two-headed dog Dioskilos, Medusa, Calibos, and scorpions. In the process, his men were all killed one by one and his shield was destroyed after the fight with Medusa. After cutting off Medusa's head he killed Calibos but was severely weakened in the fight. He sent Bubo to rescue Pegasus. Bubo rescues Pegasus and destroys the camp in the process. Pegasus reaches Perseus who uses him to take a shortcut back to Joppa trying to make it back in time.
Bubo distracts the Kraken but gets knocked out in the process. Perseus's strength was restored by Zeus and using Medusa's head he destroys the Kraken turning it to stone as it crumbles away to dust. Perseus tosses Medusa's head into the sea so that its deadly power is gone for gooe as well. He frees Andromeda and then soon get married.
Zeus orders constellations made of Perseus, Princess Andromeda, Queen Cassiopeia and Pegasus so everyone will remember this story. Even if the gods are dead or long forgotten. No one will forget the story of Perseus. Perseus is content to live out his life ruling Joppa with his wife but he is pulled away from her. This time not by the intervention of the gods who had vowed to stay out of their lives by Zeus's orders. But because of a war from another world far into the future. Now stranded he searches for a way home while vowing to help them win this war.
