Personality: James is stubborn/headstrong as well as sarcastic. However, he means well and is misunderstood kind of guy. James is overprotective of those he cares for. His sister Jordan included. James won't hurt a soul unless they try to hurt him. He is a loner to the most part. James used to hide from people and try to live his life, without worry and he tried to keep himself but as soon as he found out that his stepfather searched for him, he came out of hidden to find out why, and if he is one of the people who wants to hurt him as well as his mom. However, he had no intention of hurting him or Jordan unless they gave him a choice.

James is a dreamer, as he always hoped to have a family who loves him and to be a great big brother, to his little sister Jordan. He refuses to go to jail for things he supposedly did when he never did. Not to mention James hates lies and liars. All in all, he is a good guy and a great big brother as he is reserved and distant but if he is respected and treated like a human being then he would value that person. As well as those who don't try to hurt him, he won't try to hurt them either. James is a sensitive guy. Deep down he is just a scared little boy, who wants to be saved, loved and have a life, as well as loving, and caring family.


History: James is the son of Emily Cavanaugh and a guy, detective Malden, who was a rookie at the time.  The guy was angry that she was pregnant, and as soon as he found out he asked her to abort, but she refused, even so, she did admit that what happened between them was a mistake, but there was no way that she was about to give up on her baby. Emily and her husband Max had trouble, but the two ended up slowly working on their marriage, and they even fixed it. To some degree. Max was happy when he found out that she was pregnant, but when James was born, he realized that he wasn't his son, as he didn't look like him. For some time he ignored it, as he took a video of his wife and son, but after a while, he couldn't handle it, as they fought over it.

Max took Baby James when he was only a few weeks to a few month old, and taken him to a couple who lost their own child named James. He gave him the child and told them it was only for a few days and that his wife Emily needed help as she wasn't well, and that she almost drowned their child. The truth was, Max wanted to get rid of the child and the fact that his wife had an affair with it. He ended up leaving the child with the couple indefinitely. James grew up, as he became somewhat of a replacement for the couple's real son, who died, who was murdered. The couple loved him for a bit but then treated him like a nobody, as they hated him because he wasn't theirs. The couple argued a lot, especially about him. They stopped paying attention to him when he was a few month old, as he felt like he was a nobody, invisible and not important but he was wrong. James found out as he read somewhere that they weren't his real parents and he confronted them. They argued, and he supposedly threatened to kill them, as they hurt him, as well as treated him like a criminal and such at the age of 16. 

It was when he ran away, and the two were grateful that he was gone and refused to look for him.  James had found his mother before he ran way from 'home', as they talked and she warned him to be careful as someone wanted to hurt and kill him, as well as her, hiding the fact that it was his dad, his biological father.  James ran and hadn't looked back as he moved around a lot and tried to stay safe, until his stepfather searched for him, as he ended up finding him first and kidnapped him, as he tied him up in their old home, as he called Jordan and asked her to come. As he confronted them both, and they talked,  as he held them at a gunpoint, as he had no idea if he could trust him and because they attacked him with words and insulted him. James ran away without hurting them and tried to keep a low profile once more.

Until things got more complicated, as his sister looked for him again, still sure that he was a bad guy, even so, he wasn't. James snack into her home and met up with her, as he held a gun to her and demanded to know why she searched for him, but eventually, he realized that he could trust her and put the gun down.  He asked if he could stay with her as only there he felt safe, as she agreed. They both talked and realized that it was his dad who wanted and still did want him dead. Jordan ended up finding out it was a very important guy in the law enforcement and confronted him but he dragged her. James didn't want her to go, but she did.  When his dad came back with his half-sister, Jordan he protected her as his dad died and he escaped.  James knew that his sister thought he was behind it and that he was a bad guy as she didn't remember anything, as she woke up in an ally where he left her. He ended up kidnapping her and showing her where he used to live and told her his life story, most of it and then cops came, as he pulled her close to protect her and held a gun pointed at them. While they held him at a gunpoint.  As they argued and they he climbed on the edge of an abandoned building that used to be his home and asked her to jump with him into the water but she refused, as he apologized for not being a better brother, as an FBI jet flew near and he jumped. Then he disappeared and showed up where he had never been to before.
