[April 29, morning]

Hercules woke up as he washed up or took a shower as the modern era called it, and then got dressed. After that, he walked over to Xena's door and knocked on it. Hercules looked around and back at the door as he knocked on the door once more and sighed, as he hoped that she was inside, as well as he hoped that she was alright. He could have gotten Gabrielle too, to hang out but he wanted to spend alone time with Xena. Since they were in the same place, Hercules figured that maybe just maybe he and Xena could give their love another go, if she wanted to that is, as it was definitely up to her or so he believed. He was sure that there was still something there and he wanted to explore it with her. Hercules looked down and up again, as he then knocked on the door once more.

"Xena? Are you there?" he called out as he waited for a reply or a reaction. Hercules looked around and then to the door again as he saw it open or it seemed to open, as he watched closely and waited.

Xena had gotten used to the modern showers as well. They were quite useful and you didn't have to risk your things get stolen or getting attacked by bathing in a river or stream like they did back in their world. And the soaps and shampoos they used for cleaning smelled pretty good too. She was now dressed in a black T-shirt and black shorts. She was sitting in her room not having anything to do. She thought of practicing her weapons but there was no imminent battle so she was taking it easy for the moment. She heard a knock at the door and smiled hearing it was Hercules's voice.

She had many loves of in her life but Hercules had been one of the few she was grateful for. And she wished things could have worked out. But they did more good traveling apart and now she was 25 years older. He'd killed his own father to protect Eve. And she'd killed many of his family members. She was surprised he even wanted to be in the same room with her. Sure he wasn't close with some of them but they were still his family. Despite her not always agreeing with the gods from her world she hadn't wanted to kill them. She wished there had been another way but you couldn't change the past. And she knew she had to move forward. She walked to the door and opened it.

"Yes Hercules. Did you need something?" said Xena.

Hercules

Hercules loved Xena for a very long time. He had other lovers before but none of them was any better than her. If anything Xena was one of the best loves of his life. He missed her. Yes she killed most of his god family and for her daughter he killed his dad. However, Hercules couldn't be angry at her for that. Whether Hercules wanted to or not. If anything he blamed his dad and his family from his dad's side for that. If they didn't try to kill her or her baby then things wouldn't turn that way or so Hercules thought, as well as believed. His family wasn't much of a family. If anything Hercules's birth mother was more family to him than his dad or his family from his dad's side. His step mother, Hera tried to kill him. Hercules's half brother, Ares tried to kill him. To say that he was distant with his dad or his family from his dad's side would be an understandment. His best friend and step dad, Jason was more of a dad to him than his own dad, which was ironic as they were more or less the same age. The guy was both a brother figure to him and a father figure, which said a lot. Hercules felt more lucky and blessed to be related to Jason, rather than his dad or his dad's side of the family. He was lucky to have his mom, Jason and his other friends in his life. Hercules also felt lucky to have Xena and Gabrielle in his life. There was one person in his gods side of the family that he was more or less close to, and that was Aphrodite. However, if they had issues. Not as much as Hercules had with the rest of the gods and goddesses but still.

After everything that happened. Hercules wasn't sure if Xena would ever want to see him. He loved her and cared for her, so he definitely wanted to see her again. More than anything in the world. Hercules could never dtop thinking about Xena. No matter how much he tried. Hercules ended up stop trying because of that. He began to see that they would only be friends for a long time. Ever since Xena and he parted ways. Before they saw each other again, when Xena and Gabrielle came to help Hercules when he was wanted for his wife's murder and such. However, now that they were here, in a new world, Hercules wondered maybe now they could pick up where they left off. He wondered maybe now they could be together for real. With no problems. Hercules wondered if it was a hint that perhaps, maybe just maybe they were meant for each other. If so, then maybe they owed it to each other and themselves to check thst out. Or so Hercules thought as he made his way to her door. He did what he did as he waited. Hercules considered leaving until he heard and saw the door open, as he watched it closely. He smiled as he saw Xena and listened to her. Hercules looked down and back at her with a smile.

"Hello Xena! I was just checking on you. I was wondering if you wanted to take a walk with me! We could go to the kitchen and get some food and drink, then walk around the grounds, what do you say? Unless you have other plans which is fine by me,"

[Xena]

Xena smiled at him.

"I wouldn't mind a walk. That sounds nice. I need to stretch a bit anyway. I'm used to walking around for miles. Staying in one place for long I end up feeling restless." said Xena.

She grinned.

"Maybe we could go out to the woods sometime and train." said Xena.

She walked out closing her door as joined him.

"Well let's go. I'm sure there's something downstairs for us to eat." said Xena.

Hercules

Hercules watched her with a smile, as he spoke to her and after thar, he listened to her as he still smiled kindly at her. He loved her and adored her for a very long time, and it hadn't changed since. Hercules looked down and then back at her as he continued to talk to her. He was glad that she agreed, as he hoped that she would. Hercules was used to walk a lot too and staying in one place made him restless too. It wasn't that way when he was married nor when he had kids, until his step mother killed them but it became that way after that, though. Then when Hercules got married again it slowly became just as easy but then it became harder to do so. If he needed to he could get used to it again but he needed it to be for a woman he loved or there was no point to it. Or so Hercules believed anyway. He was restless whenbhe stayed in one place only when he did that on his own. When Hercules stayed with a woman he loved in one place it was much easier for him to do.

"Good to know. I am glad to here that! I missed that. We used to walk before a while back, even if it was because we dealt with things but it was still nice! Here we have nothing to do, so figured why not. It could still be fun, right? I think so. It sure does and so do I! We both do. Me too! I can only stay in one place for long if I have a special woman with me. Like you," he said and blushed at that slightly but he didn't notice and if as well as when he noticed that, he tried to hide it.

Hercules grinned too as he listened to what she said next. He definitely like that idea of hers. It was a great idea or so Hercules thought that it was at least. He had no problem with that. As long as it was with Xena, Hercules didn't complain about it at all. As he saw no reason to complain about it, since it was definitely a great plan, to say the least.

"Yeah, I like that idea. We definitely should do that! We can do that whenever you want. Just let me know a head of time! Anything we do together is fun. And I am glad I am not alone here! I have no idea how would I deal without you being here. I can't even think about it, nor do I want to! I missed spending time with you, Xena. Just us,"

Hercules watched her with a smile and after that, he listened to her once more. He thought the same thing as she did. Hercules looked around and back at her, as he smiled at her once more. He was glad that they could spend alone time together as before, as he missed that and definitely needed that. Hercules wanted to see if they had a chance to be together or not. He had a feeling that they did but wanted to know for sure.

"Yes, let's go. I am sure there is a lot for us to choose from but will let you pick! Ladies choice, that is how it works. Even if you are different than most ladies I know but you are still a lady, no matter what! Which is good. As you are a woman after all! More than one reason it should be your choice,"

[Xena]

Xena nodded.

"Of course it's nice to have a safe place to sleep every day. And not having to fight off evil every day is a bonus. I mean back in our world it seems like was always a warlord, a thief, a god, a monster, or something else causing problems. It was hard to get a day off or even a few hours to yourself." said Xena.

She chuckled at his words.

"Well I am pretty special so you got that right." said Xena.

She grinned.

"Good. I wouldn't want to get rusty just sitting around doing nothing." joked Xena.

She nodded again. He was acting odd and she wondered if something was going on. Was he trying to keep her from something dangerous like when they fought over who would free Prometheus. She would figure it out but for now would play along.

"If you're trying to flatter me then don't. I knew something was odd about you. You want a favor from me? Or are you distracting me? Gabrielle's not in danger is she?" asked Xena, a little worried.

Hercules

Hercules watched her as he had a feeling that she would agree. He spoke again and after that, he listened to her again. Hercules nodded in agreement to what she said. After all, it was true and Hercules knew that rather well.  He was glad that they agreed with each other. Not that Hercules was surprised or anything. He let her finish speaking before he spoke again.  Hercules was glad that they could agree, even if he had no doubt that they would agree with each other a lot,  he was still glad, as he was glad that he wasn't wrong about her, even if he doubted that he would ever be wrong about her. 

"Yeah, exactly. It makes it easier, doesn't it? Especially when it is inside than outside, as we don't get wet when it rains that way and don't hurt our back and such. Won't you say? Yeah, that is especially. It gives us a peace and quite that we need and deserve, doesn't it? Yeah, exactly, and some giants and what not.  Here it's less that way! Most trouble in our home was created by Ares who always creates trouble for people. Something for us to deal with! Discord as well. Exactly right and here we can, so I think we should use it while we have a chance before we lose our chance! Especially since we don't really know how long it will less, we can only guess and hope for the best but we don't know for sure,"  

He watched her as he spoke again as he laughed, once he heard what she said next. Hercules didn't deny that, whether he wanted to or not but he still found that rather amusing to say the least. Also, for him she was very special but it was due to him being in love with her, but he said nothing about it. At least for the time being, Hercules didn't but he figured that sooner or later she would figure that out, if not by herself than through him or such. They again they had something in the past but it ended too fast. Also, Hercules tried not to think about that.

"Haha, yes you are. To some of us more than to all of us,"

He spoke again as he smiled at her and then laughed a bit at her joke. Hercules did get what she meant so, there was no doubt there. He was smart so there was that.

"Hehe, no one would. Besides, no one wants to be bored! However, you pick where we go and we shall go there right now even, just say the word, Xena. Your word is my commend as they say,"

Hercules was acting odd but he was keeping her in the dark because he didn't want to risk her. However, he was also acting that way because he wanted to be with her. Hercules refused to talk to her about it, for now at least. He had no doubt that she would figure out what he was hiding from her but he was fine with that. Not that he could fight her over that but still. Hercules tried to keep it all from her as much as he possibly could, just for her own good. He believed that it was the right thing for him to do.

"I am but it is also the truth. Something is odd about me? In what way, Xena? Favor? From you? No. I just want you to choose. I might be hiding something from you but it has nothing to do with it! Distracting yes, but also want to spend time with you. As for Gabrielle, she was but she is fine! Just someone is planning to kidnap you both and I want to keep you safe, is all. Gabrielle won't be found but you will, that is all! I assure you that is all it is, nothing more and nothing else. Trust me,"

[Xena]

Xena nodded.

"Sometimes I swear your familly liked to mess around with mortals because they were bored. Especially Ares." said Xena.

She grinned.

"I hope so." said Xena.

Xena shrugged.

The woods are probably good enough. Dressing in clothes from this time feels wrong and you can't even carry weapons. I feel naked without my chakram and sword." said Xena.

She paused as he spoke about her questions.

"Gabrielle's in danger and someone's planning to kidnap us? And you tel lme this now? I won't be kept hidden if there's someone after me or people I care about. So you tell me what you know or I'll find someone else who'll tell me." said Xena.

Hercules spoke as he watched Xena closely and sighed to that. He then listened to her as she spoke again. Hercules wasn't surprised that they agreed with each other since it was the truth after all, so it made sense. Or so he thought at least. For Hercules at least it was the truth. As much as he didn't exactly like it, he knew it was true.  His family was definitely messed up, there was no doubt there. No matter what, Hercules knew it was true and saw no reason to deny it. Despite the fact that at times some of them showed a sign that they were normal but then they did something that showed the opposite. Which was why Hercules wasn't that surprised that they both agreed with that.  He wished his family was better than what they were but he knew better than that. It was why Hercules didn't expect them to change or anything like that. He had no idea what to do but accept it was the case, as much as he hated that option with a passion, he still knew it was the way it was.

"I know what you mean. You know, I wish my family was like you or Gabrielle but we both know we don't choose family, even if we wish we could! Unfortunately, that's my family for ya. Sure some of them at times can seem better than that but not for long. As for Ares, well, he is just a pain in the butt, don't think nothing or anyone can ever change that! Except perhaps you but you are not with him. He likes to annoy, and create trouble as he is god of war after all, what can we do?! I keep hoping that he and all my family would get a brain and act mature and less trouble, as well as less insanity and such but clearly that's not ever going to happen. Which believe me I have accepted that, along tome ago, not like I had a choice, you know?!"

Hercules spoke again as he smiled at her, and then listened to her.  He liked everything about her, her smile especially, also he saw no reason in telling her that especially since he thought. Hercules gently touch her shoulder and then he quickly let go, not wishing to make her feel uncomfortable or anything like that. He was glad that they could spend time together if they could, as he loved spending time with her no matter what, as for him time with her was definitely worth it.

"Good to know, me too. So I believe that"

Hercules spoke again as he watched her and waited for her to speak again, as she did he listened to her once more. He nodded to her, the woods did sound good and he did understand what she said about clothes and weapons, as it made sense. At least it did to him. Hercules agreed with her as she had a good point, at least she did as far as he could tell. Then again he agreed with her about a lot of things so it made sense, at least it did to him.

"The woods works great.  Yeah, that is true! So why not wear the usual clothes with weapons and head to the woods that way, much better that way. What do you think? It is much easier that way. Isn't it? I think we should have our regular clothes and the weapons. As they could only help us I believe, "

Hercules spoke again as he continued to watch her and sighed to that. He didn't wish to worry or scare her but he didn't want to lie to her either. As Hercules knew that it was a bad idea no matter what. Which was why he told her all of that. However, Hercules wasn't surprised by her reaction. It was exactly what he wanted to avoid but knew that unfortunately, he couldn't avoid it. Not for long at least.

"Yes, I wanted to keep it from you but I guess no point now. Huh? Look, I won't let nothing happen to either of you, so, Xena. I promise you that! As you both matter a lot to me. I am sure you know that by now, though! Don't you? Look I am sorry I didn't tell you before. I wanted to know more about it and then I tried to keep you out of it but you as always got it out of me! I know. That is why I wanted you to pick a place to go, while a friend I made here gets us more information about it all! Was that wrong? Spending timw with you while we get more information about it. I don't know as much as we all would like! I do know that one of the other armies got some people to try and get you both. I am guessing it is to get us distracted or something like that but not much more than that! Well except one more thing. Gabrielle was almost kidnapped but got away but that's about it! I am sorry I didn't tell you any of it sooner,"

[Xena]

Xena chuckled.

"Well, we can't always choose our family by blood. But we can choose who we add to it. You, Gabrielle, Eve, Solan, Iolas, Joxer, Virgil and so many others." said Xena.

She smirked.

"Well if any of your family shows up here I'm hoping it's Aphrodite. She's one of the few family members of yours I can stand. And she's best friends with Gabrielle. Plus I suppose I did kind of kill many of the gods protecting Eve. So if any of them showed up they likely would join one of the other armies." said Xena.

She paused for a moment.

"But this time around we have more options. We'll find a way to bind their powers and lock them up. I won't make you suffer losing your family again. I know how hard it was the last time." said Xena.

Seeing how heartbroken he'd been after killing Zeus to save her, she'd regretted getting him involved in the first place.

"I'm sorry for getting you involved. I should have fought the gods alone. It was bad enough that I dragged in Gabrielle and Joxer into the mess. I should have tried to get you to stay out of it." said Xena.

Xena nodded.

"Definitely. Although I might consider learning some of these new modern weapons. Swords, arrows, and chakrams will only help so far. People have seen tv shows based on our lives here. They may know how we fight here so we might have to adapt. Or at least get some new moves and weapons so we're more unpredictable." said Xena.

Xena paused listening to him and smiled.

"I've been kidnapped and held hostage before. So has Gabrielle. We've suffered through a lot you might never know about. But don't keep things from and I'll do the same. We can't rush off and play hero by ourselves anymore. This war is different than any other situation we faced in our own time and world. We have to rely on each other and our allies, new and old." said Xena.

Hercules watched her as he listened to her. He shrugged as he chuckled too. Hercules looked down for a bit and then back at her, once more and nodded to what she said. He agreed with her as she did had a point, he had to admit that. Hercules knew that she understood a lot about that, especially after all she went through. Even if what they both went through was rather different, they still could understand and definitely agree with each other. Like in that case, for instance. So Hercules wasn't surprised that she agreed with him, as he agreed with her. As they both were right, and he knew that rather well. They went through a lot to know that, as well as it was also pretty obvious, to be honest, and even Hercules could notice that.  

"Yeah, exactly. Unfortunately! So at times, it is a good thing. When you get good people in your family, that you can trust and count on! If only we could have just great people in our blood family,  then we won't need to worry about wishing to have different people in our family. You know?! And that is true, which is a good thing. That makes things a lot better, doesn't it? You, Gabrielle, Eve, Solan, Iolas, as well as Joker and Virgil, even if I don't know Joker and Virgil, nor Solan but I feel that I do. You guys are my family, and many others! Which I am glad about! By the way, I met many who look like you back home, which is odd. So they don't count as family, you do, of course, as you are one that I choose for my family, and always will,"

He watched her as he said the next thing,  and then he listened to what she said to her. Hercules sighed and nodded, as he might not know how she felt but he knew that not all of his family, from the side of his dad, would be glad to see her, due to her killing them and what not. Then again not all of them liked him anyway, that for sure. He was used to that and was sure that most like she was used to that too. It won't surprise him at all that she was used to it as well, just like him. Hercules believed that she was used to that too. Which would make sense, since she didn't seem to care much what people thought of her, at least not all of them. At least it seemed that way to him, anyway.

"I am sure of that. Honestly, I am with you on that one! I rather it would be Aphrodite too. She is one of my family that I truly get along with! And she told me she is close to Gabrielle. Even if they argue a lot too, but she adores her as a sister that she never had! Yeah, you sure did that, and I killed some too to protect and Eve as well as to protect you. So not all of them like either of us! And yeah, they might or they would join this army but avoid you, who knows for sure. Only they can tell for sure what they would do, all we can do is pretty much guess, ya know?! However, most likely you are right. They might just to get rid of you once and for all, as well as get rid of me, but they are them, they do what they do and we do what we do! If they join this army then they must accept us being together, as I am not giving you up, ever. Remember that, as that is a fact.  "

Hercules watched her as he listened to what she said next and sighed. He got what she meant, as it was true it was hard for him to lose them, as they were still his family no matter what. Hercules still missed them, despite everything. As strange as it sounded and all. He loved them all, in some way, even if they weren't all kind and caring towards him during the years that he knew them but it sucked to lose them, even if they were the ones that attacked in the first place. Hercules wished that things were different but unfortunately, they couldn't be. He knew that rather well. It was odd that until they died he had no idea how much they meant to him. Life was ironic that way. Or so he thought at least. 

"Yes, this time we sure do. You are right! this time we can even convince them that they were wrong about you and Eve. Bonding their powers does work well too! Also, don't think they would really agree with that.  We sure will find a way to bond their powers! I know you won't, and I know you do! But I couldn't let them kill you, none of us could. You were protecting yourself, not your fault! Yourself and your child. I could never hate you for that, and never will! You did what you had to do as did I. If anything I hate that they forced our hand to kill them! If they gave you and your daughter a chance instead of assuming things then it would never have happened in the first place,"

Hercules was heartbroken that he had to kill his dad. It did hurt a lot but there was no way that he would have let her go through it alone. Hercules did what he had to do and would do that again if he had to. Also, he definitely would rather it not coming down to that ever again. Hercules was rather things turned differently, of course, but they did what they needed and he refused to take it back, no matter what. As that was the way he was raised, and taught, which was something he valued dearly. Hercules would never change that about himself no matter what or he won't be himself and that definitely wasn't an option, not to him at least. He listened to her and sighed to that. There was nothing for him to forgive her. Hercules would have gotten involved no matter what, as his family literally lost it.  At least as far as he was concerned they did, anyway.  Hercules truly thought and believed that.

"No, don't apologize. There is no way I would let you do that alone! You can forget about it. I would have found out no matter what and helped you! Don't you understand that? Between them and you, I would always choose you. Haven't you got that yet, Xena? You really don't get it, do you? You didn't drag us in, we got in because we wanted to help you. You are our family just as we are yours.  You got us and always will, no matter what! Do you think you are the only one who can be stubborn? We can be stubborn too, just as you can be. Haven't you learned that yet? You do know that you trying to keep us away wouldn't have worked no matter what, right? As you are stuck with us, whether you like it or not,"

He spoke again and then listened to her once again, as he continued to watch her closely.  Hercules looked around and back at her, as he listened to her. He let her finish before he spoke again himself.  Hercules nodded in agreement with what she said, as she was right, he knew that rather well. They did new weapons and strategies, and such or they would be defeated, which wasn't an option. The trouble was where would they get new weapons, and learn new ways of fighting so. After all, they were from the past not present, not from the modern times after all. Which definitely made it harder, or so Hercules thought as well as believed. He wished he knew how to come up with something new. It looked to Hercules that they might need some help, as otherwise, it might take them way too long. However, he said nothing about what he thought about, at least for the time being he kept that to himself, anyway. 

"Then that is what we shall do. I agree, and we both probably need to! You more but still, we can't be that obvious after all. Right? And yeah, that is for sure. Also, for new weapons, how do we get those exactly? As well as what new moves should we use? I think we might need some help with all of that. What do you think? How about we spend alone time alone first, then try to figure that out? Would you be alright with that? I think it might make it much easier for us, what do you think? Does that work for you? It would make it a lot easier, won't it? I think we need that time just for the two of us, what do you think? Unless you rather just find new moves, can you weapons and things like that first. It is up to you, not me. You know that, right? I am fine with doing whatever you want to do, as I love you, and trust you, as well as your decisions,"

Hercules spoke again as he looked down and then back at her, once more. Then he listened to her once more. They all went through a lot, that was for sure. Hercules knew and understood that she had a good point, as did he.  She was right so, they couldn't keep things from each other, no matter what as they were family, other than friends. Xena was also right that they couldn't rush and be heroes but they rely on their allies, new and old. It was a good point, and Hercules knew that rather. Whether Hercules admitted to that or not, he still agreed with her about it, no matter what. As she was right and when she was right, she was right. This moment definitely included.   

"Yeah, I am sure you were both went through more than anyone knows about. Same with me! I agree with you, we need to tell each other things,  without hiding things. You are definitely right about that! So I think it should go more to you than me. So you do that more than me! Remember?  It is hard to get used to, isn't it? Xena, you can tell me anything and I know I can tell you everything, so don't worry about it. And I think we can trust our allies, both new and old! Just like we can trust each other. What do you think? Do you agree or disagree with me about that? One of the most people things is that we have each other, and we will always have each other, no matter what. Can you remember that? I can. As you matter to me a lot! Gabrielle, Eve, Solan, Joxer and others you care about, matter to me a lot too. Keep that in mind, alright? Can you do that? And just so you know that no matter what we can all handle it, together as we are a team, no matter what. Nothing and no one can ever change it, no matter what! You, your kids and Gabrielle, will always have me in your lives, no matter what, as I will never leave you,  and it doesn't matter where I am at the moment, I am still with you,"
