Why did you pick him/her?: one of my favorite ocs i miss playing.

Personality: He can be charming when he wants to be flirting with men and women alike. He can come off as creepy at times but he's just overly curious about things. He is stealthy and discreet when necessary his years of being a thief helping him out as a vampire. Sometimes he took too many unneccesary risks which is one of the reasons he ended up as a vampire but he lives life to the fullest. And now being a vampire he's often more of a risk taker but he likes helping out his sire and allies when necessary.
History:
Jared was born February 15 1985. His father was a thief and his mother was a nurse. He was close with his little brother Leo growing up despite him being five years younger than him. They hung out a lot going off on weekend camping trips, and longer ones in the summer. They surfed together as well often after school when he wasn't practicing for his basketball games. He grew up in town as a normal kid, dating, having a few girlfriends, the usual stuff.He joined the basketball team and eventually became captain of the team.
He loved playing the sport but he also loved women and having fun. Both usually ended up with him getting into trouble with the cops, or his parents. Usually it was both. But he was decent on his grades getting Bs and Cs enough to keep his position on his sports teams. But after his last stunt where he got drunk with a bunch of friends at a party and had returned late only to pass out on the couch. The next morning they had issued an ultimatum he would stop partying or lose his spots as captain of the basketball and football teams and be shipped off to military school. Of course it had been his mother's idea wanting a good future for her son.
Jared however didn't seem to have that good future as from a young child he and Leo were trained by their father how to steal. They kept their mother in the dark as his father told him she wouldn't understand. And when he was younger he believed it but when he got older he realized he was lying to her. But he couldn't tell her the truth not wanting her to be disappointed. He cleaned up his acts making sure to keep C's and B's in school not wanting to be set away as he liked his friends and hanging out with his family.
But his father's criminal past caught up with him and unfortunately his entire family was killed by a gang his father had stolen from. Jared had barely survived and had been put on machines for awhile. After a few weeks in the hospital he was released. But he had no family and no job. He finished school barely but kept stealing to survive. He couldn't afford the house though but was able to sell most of the stuff in the house for money so he could move into an apartment in town. He reluctantly took a job at night as a cashier at a local grocery store which helped out some and the rest he stole stuff and sold it at pawn shops or the black market if necessary just to have some money.
He was very successful and the police had no idea who the thief was but he made sure not to leave any traces so most cops just assumed it was a gang of thieves or different thieves doing all of them. No matter how many stings or chances they got no one could catch him. He started stealing from criminals for fun knowing they'd probably stolen it from someone anyway so they weren't likely to report it. It grew to be a lot of fun over the years dodging criminals and cops, while wooing his dates men and women but never staying with anyone for too long. He didn't want to take the risk someone would ask questions or see something they shouldn't.
One day on his job he snuck into a house getting past guards unaware they were vampires. He didn't think anyone was inside an thought the house woul be easy pickings. So he crept around spying things like vases and art that could be valuable. But after he heard a crash from nearby he was worried someone was in the house. He peeked looking outside the room expecting to see a pet or a human.
But he froze seeing vampires feeding on a human. Not knowing what was going on he tried to flee but someone had overheard him and he didn't even make it to the window before he was grabbed and dragged out to join the others. The leader of the house offered him a choice to die or become a vampire as he couldn't speak of what he'd seen here outside of the vampires. Not wanting to die Jared reluctantly chose being a vampire. Vincent drank his blood and got him to drink his. Jared became a vampire with Vincent as his sire.
For the first few months he didn't notice much change. His abilities took time to develop so he just kept to the house mostly knowing he couldn't go outside. But he still helped steal for his new sire when he could. After that his powers showed up and it took him a few weeks to get used to them. He'd noticed his personality hadn't changed much. He was a bit colder when on missions but he enjoyed flirting with guys and girls. Even enjoyed flirting with people he knew were straight just to get them embarrassed or angry.
He did want revenge for the death of his family and Vincent helped him get that by capturing the gang that did it. Vincent beat them up and tortured them for a bit before draining them dry as he wanted them to suffer a bit and then killed them. He got used to living in the house and gained new friends while living there. He became one o f Vincent's infiltrators as he could steal but also flirt his way out of trouble which had helped him often in the past and would in his missions as well. He was grateful for the change to vampire because for the first time since his family's death he felt like he had a family again.
He did pass through Sunnydale a couple times but some friends got staked by the Slayer and he didn't stick around not wanting to end up like them. He'd heard how bad the Slayer could get and saw firsthand how many vampires including the Master, Dru and darla were killed. While some like Angelus and Spike gained souls and eventually fought off supernatural creatures in Los Angeles. And later the Slayers, witches, and hunters spread out more across the globe as Jared kept himself in hiding as more and more of his clan including his sire were killed over the years. He thern ended up in a world he'd never been to before with an army full of humans, and other strange creatures. Learning of this war he agreed to help as this war didn't have a group of people hunting him and he had a better chance of survival here.
