Where is this character from?: Various series in the scooby doo series. Most recent being the cyber chase movie.
Why did you pick him/her?: For shaggy to have at least somebody with him. Who better than the scaredy dog himself?

Personality: He is very similar to his best friend shaggy, as in the fact he's cowardly, gluttonous, always trying to avoid trouble and always getting stuck finding the monster. But he has a hidden spirit of courage lurking within and tends to use it to protect those he cares about. He's immensely loyal, friendly and pleasant. Scooby tends to be very loving towards all his friends but he is especially loving towards Shaggy. He adores the friends he has maybe more than the food he eats. He's also quite intelligent and intuitive, always being able to sniff out or see people or things for what they truly are.
History: Scooby, ever since he was born, grew up with Shaggy, Velma, Fred and Daphine. He was taken in as Shaggy's pet/best friend and always was solving a mystery. So it was only fitting to be a mystery solver dog. He had been on MANY adventures and many of them were easy to solve. But even Scooby had adventures that he wouldn't forget. Many involving just him and shaggy alone. One of which was him turning into a werewolf by dracula to compete in a monster race, but that race was troublesome and tedious, but at least Shaggy got turned back to normal afterwards(After a teethpulling session of dracula trying to cheat his way out of it). But it wasn't just that that was unforgettable, there was a girl school filled with monsters also. Apparently there was a version of dracula that grew soft and had a kid of his own. Along with many other monsters. Scooby and Shaggy were assigned as the gym teachers for a semester with Scrappy Doo, Scooby's young nephew. Despite dealing with a witch called revolta, they managed to take care of the kids and prevent them from being brainwashed by said witch.
After all those solo adventures, they returned to do more mysteries... Until everyone decided to stop that was. Velma became a librarian, Fred and Daphine got into entertainment and Shaggy was with him just doing random jobs. They got fired constantly until everyone in the gang got bit by the mystery bug again and resumed back to their roots. They solved a mystery of a old island which was surrounded by zombies, who were lost souls murdered by cat ladies(Literally ladies that were cats) such as Simone and Lena, and managed to defeat the evil women who made them. Then they went back to a small town, where Ben Ravencroft hired them to solve the mystery involving his ancestor Sarah. Turns out Ben was a bad guy also, trying to revive his witch ancestor to take over the world. It failed and backfired. Just like Scooby's relationship with a alien dog... Oh forgot to mention that. Shaggy and Scooby, while solving a scam scheme involving aliens, actually fell in love with actual aliens that looked like a human and a golden retriever. It was quite heartbreaking, but nothing a scooby snack can't solve.
Their final mystery involved cyber space. Velma's old friend Eric was dealing with a virus that managed to become quite sentient. While solving it, they got inside the game Eric created and had to beat all the levels. They succeeded and arrested the culprit, the virus' creator Bill. Not long after Scooby got seperated from them all and managed to be pulled here. He found shaggy once again a werewolf but this time it was going to be really hard to cure him of his curse. Not willing to leave his best pal behind, Scooby stayed. Despite the fact he knows deep in his heart these people are screwed up.
