(April 2nd. Afternoon.)

Chester is nervous as he walks around looking for James. It had been a few weeks since they'd admitted their attraction to each other and a few days since the transformation spells had been reversed. Gene was off playing with other kids and James hadn't made any wishes as far as he knew. He was nervous as he knocked on James's door. He wanted to hang out with him and he guessed he had a boyfriend now. Although they hadn't made it official yet.

"James are you there? It's me Chester. You want to hang out?" asked Chester.

He stood there nervous awaiting his answer. What if James wasn't in there? What if he was busy? He didn't want to bother him. He could go find Willie or 90's Kid or someone else if James was too busy to hang out with him right now.

A lot of the chaos around the army caused James to be a bit distracted. But he still had his feelings for Chester. They never officially made themselves a couple but today was that day. James heard Chester's voice as he knocked on the door and James quickly put on a cami t-shirt and cami pants as he brushed his hair vigorously. He then quickly opened the door and beamed brightly at Chester "Hello Chester. I think it would be delightful to have some time with you" He quickly closed the door and blushed then "What would you, um, like to do first?"

Chester smiled seeing James open the door.

"GREAT! I mean great." said Chester.

He blushed not meaning to get too excited but being around James made him feel nervous.

"Well how about we get to know each other better. Maybe go eat, or see a movie." said Chester.

James couldn't help but laugh a little as Chester expressed his enthusiasm before calming down. He beamed brightly at the other man. Chester could honestly be quite adorable sometimes. He then gave a nod and replied "Going out to eat sounds like a fun idea. Anywhere you wish to go, I will be happy to go with you" He then turned to see it was quite a sunny day outside. He beamed "I think it's a lovely day outside. Maybe a walk after we eat could work out also?" He then offered his hand for Chester to take "Shall we go?"

Chester grinned and then frowned realizing he had no money. He didn't mind bumming off change or cash from people normally but this was a date. And he felt bad if James would have to pay for it.

"On second thought why don't we just stay here." said Chester.

He paused looking at himself at the mention of a work out.

"I don't really work out. I don't really do much at all." said Chester.

He sighed.

"Maybe this was a bad idea. You'd be better off finding one of the others to date or hang out with. Someone who deserves you." said Chester.

He paused as James held out his hand and Chester looked on sadly.

"I have no money or even a home. I live in a cardboard box most of the time and try to sneak into places for warmth or food. I was a bum living on the streets before they let me stay cause of the war. I have nothing but the clothes I'm wearing, some friends here and now you. And I'll probably screw this up too like everything else. Half the time the others get too angry or annoyed at me. Maybe I should just go before you're mad at me too." said Chester.

He turned to walk away but stopped. He felt it was the right thing to do but he turned back with a sad smile anyway.

"I have nothing to offer you and yet I want this so badly. Maybe it's selfish of me to want I've seen others have. But I don't want you to pay for our dates and that's what you'd end up doing. It's not fair to you. I don't want you to resent me or something." said Chester.

James was confused by Chester's sudden change of mood. James had absolutely no problem paying. In fact, he felt it was his job as the significant other to do such things. Besides, it wasn't like it was the skin off his sleeve. James then was shocked to hear Chester reply this was maybe a bad idea and that James deserved someone else "Why ever would you say such a thing? I don't deserve anything, dear Chester" He replied sweetly, as nicely as he could be.

It was then Chester confessed he was actually homeless. James then realized his embarrassment but the solider didn't have any problems with this relationship. They could always work it out. They could always find a solution. James was more or less a determined problem solver. So with a soft heart and a determined outlook James listened to Chester's story. "How could I be mad at you for something that you can't change at the moment?" He replied softly. Then chester turned to leave but James was about to follow before Chester came back, saying he wanted this despite the circumstances. It was then James held Chester's hands and kissed him softly "I have no problems with me paying for things or helping you find your way. When the war is over, you can come live with me. You can stay with me as long as you like or need to. I will not leave you out in the cold. I want this more than anything, Chester"

He then held Chester's face with his hand with his other one holding Chester's hand still "I want this. I could never resent. I cannot and will not be greedy with my money. I could never resent you. Ever"

Chester sighed.

"But that's what couples do. Give things to each other. I can't give you anything." said Chester.

Chester sighed.

"I do a review show like some of the others here but it doesn't really pay that well. And well I don't have much skills so it's not like I can get a job anywhere." said Chester.

He was surprised as James held his hands and kissed him.

"You really don't mind? You want me to live withh you?" asked Chester, in shock.

How had he gotten so lucky to find such a great guy like James? Either someone or something was playing a great joke on him. Or his luck had finally changed.

"Ok. I believe you." said Chester.

He felt a bit better now and wasn't going to run off. But he wished he had his own money now and for more than just a house or food. He wanted to be able to buy gifts or pay for meals when on dates. He just wasn't sure how he was going to get money.

"I don't want to lose you. If you really don't mind buying things then I won't stop you. But I'll find a way to pay you back someday." said Chester.

"You give me your company and time. That's worth more than simple gifts" James replied softly and honestly. James didn't really feel like a man who needed to hold objects dear and close to him. He only wanted Chester and he'd do anything to have him. He then shook his head about Chester's financial objects "That doesn't matter to me. If you want a job, I will help you find it. If not, I will make sure you're taken care of" He didn't mind supporting chester so long as he got to be with chester. It was the honest truth that James wanted chester above all else.

"Of course I do. Come live with me if and when this war ends" James solemnly replied, looking deep into Chester's eyes. Being as sincere and loving as he possibly could be. He then was relieved when Chester claimed he believed his words. Pulling in him for a hug, James listened to chester fear he would lose him "That won't happen. You will not lose me. I don't mind paying for anything"

"You really mean that?" asked Chester, shocked.

Chester sighed.

"It's not like a job would help at this point. I'd likely get fired with all the war stuff going on and feel guilty if I was working while others were fighting and getting hurt." said Chester.

Chester looked at him in shock.

"You want me to live with you?" asked Chester.

He then paused with a frown.

"What if you go back? I doubt your kingdom will let you marry a man. I can't have kids." said Chester.

Chester leaned into James as he hugged him before returning it.

"Ok. I'll let you pay." said Chester.

"Of course I mean it. I'm never been more serious in my life" James sincerely replied. He wanted Chester to spend time with him. If he wanted to pay back it was fine, but James wasn't really feeling a need to be paid back. James was gonna get a job and help himself for sure in the future, so he didn't need to be paid back. He then nodded as Chester brought up the problems of getting one "Chester, listen to me, if you do not want a job you do not need to. Regardless of the war, I was going to get a job to help myself anyway. There's no need for you to feel such guilt over not paying" James wanted to be there for Chester and if it meant paying more, so be it.

"Of course. Stay with me. You have a home with me always" James sincerely and warmly replied. He prayed Chester would take his invitation. Then Chester brought up his real home. James looked down, realizing there was a point but remembered he was killed at his home. If he came back, they'd probably presume him to be something unnatural. Or worse, he'd return to a world that yet again wasn't his home. At least here he had friends and with chester he could have family. James then looked back, holding Chester's hands "Then I will stay here. I'm already dead from where I come from. We can make things work, Chester. There's adoption, there's so many options for us here" James didn't care about detail. He only wanted to be happy and it meant being here with chester. James knew that. He held Chester close in victory as Chester finally allowed him to pay "Good. Then let's go, the day is absolutely beautiful!"

Chester grinned.

"Good. That's good." said Chester.

He paused at James's words and sighed.

"It was one thing bumming off other people for money or a place to sleep. But now that I have one even if it's just for the war I don't need to. I want to get a job at least for the dates. It wouldn't feel right to me if you paid for everything. Maybe I'm just not saying this right." said Chester.

He raised an eyebrow as James spoke again.

"Always? It'd be nice to have a permanent home that wasn't a cardboard box." said Chester.

Chester blinked in shock.

"You'd stay here? For me?" asked Chester.

He returned James's a hug and then kissed him wrapped up in the moment. He then let go blushing slightly.

"Guess I got carried away." said Chester, with a sheepish grin.

He nodded.

"You're right. It's almost as beautiful as you." said Chester.

James smiled warmly as Chester seemed relieved but then nodded understandingly as Chester swore to stop bumming and actually try to get a job. James replied "Alright but only if you want to and not because you feel guilty. I fully support you wanting to get a job" He then smiled again, holding chester's hand and squeezing it supportively. He then listened as Chester seemed surprised by his kindness. But James felt more connected to chester than he had with anyone in his life. His life was uneasy, especially when he became a army captain. Here it felt much safer. Much easier also. He nodded and replied "Always and forever. Come stay with me. I can find a home for us that will be near the residence here in the future and we can truly be happy here"

"Of course I would. I am home with you by me" James replied sincerely, hoping chester believed it. He wanted the other man to understand his love and kindness was true. He then allowed chester to pull him for a kiss, sincerely enjoying it. He then smirked as Chester apologized "Do not apologize. I wanted it" He then pulled him in for another kiss and then smiled blushing a bit at chester's praise. James took chester's hand and headed for outside

"Well I do feel guilty. I don't want to always bum off people. But I have no skills either. Guess it'd take me longer to get a job then I thought." said Chester.

Chester smiled.

"Okay. If you want me to." said Chester.

Chester's grin grew as James said he did want them to kiss and he returned it again.

"I'm glad it's mutual then." said Chester.

"I'll be more than happy to help you. I'm sure there is plenty of jobs open. But that is all in good time" James insisted softly. He didn't want to pressure chester but he didn't want to discourage him either. He felt a need to just be as supportive as one could possibly be. James then nodded insistently as chester said he would stay as long as james wanted him too. James definitely wanted him to. He didn't dream of separating from chester. He then kissed chester before going off outside to walk to a nearby diner. He looked to the diner and replied "This seems a nice place enough to eat"

Chester nodded. He wanted to try to get a job. Before he'd just been lazy but now he had no skills. Maybe there was a way to get money at the house. I mean he made reviewsr but didn't even even get much change for them. Or money in general. He had time to find a job. It would take awhile but he'd try to find one he co uld do. At least he hoped so. When James mentioned a diner he nodded.

"Well as long as the place is warm. I don't really like cold places." said Chester.

He smiled heading towards the diner and inside with James.

"Do you see any open booths or tables?" asked Chester.
