It'd be an utter lie if one were to claim Beetlejuice wasn't exposed to weirdness all the time. Being both dead and residing in the Neitherworld for so long had effectively lead the ghost to be desensitized to almost everything. One would have a hard time spooking this spook. He assumed when he ended up where he ended up it was because he'd been summoned. But one thing seemed a bit off to him. He wasn't sure precisely where he was. He definitely wasn't in the Neitherworld - it was too normal here. Therefore, he had to be in the real world.
Who could have summoned him though? Save occasional rare exceptions, only Lydia knew how to summon him. But, this wasn't her room, nor did he see her anywhere around. Beetlejuice just assumed she had to be somewhere. As he was, he quickly became bored. It looked like he was going to need to do something to entertain himself while he figuring out what he was brought here for. The ghost quickly singled out the Critic's house, thinking it looked like a place where a few suckers would live.
Beetlejuice changed his appearance into that of a pudgy woman, complete, unflatteringly enough, with a French maid outfit. He knocked upon the door with the hand that wasn't holding an assortment of cleaning supplies.
"House-keeping!" he crowed, forcing his voice to be gratingly high-pitched.
"Rada, rada rada" A deep grovelly voice was uttered and it was soon figured out it came from a tall, rock-like monster. He was holding a young cat-bunny hybrid's hand who was obedient and clearly unsure of what was up.
"Schnitzel, this isn't mung's catering. I'm scared" The young cat-bunny replied. It was evidentially a boy, a pudgy boy, but a boy nonetheless. He looked definitely uncertain and there was some fear in his expression.
"Rada. Rada" The rock monster, schnitzel, replied to the boy. It was a assuring tone, and a evident smile on his face. He then turned to the... woman who clearly seemed to look like a maid. He turned to her, getting a weird flashback to endive, seeing he made a slight face before replying "Rada, rada, rada, rada"
"Oh hi there. Um, schnitzel asked you if you work here and if so, is your boss home? I'm chowder. And this is my friend schnitzel" Chowder replied, a smile quick on his face. He was comforted by his rock friend and even more so seeing there was another person here.
The poltergeist made a low grunt, mildly surprised, not expecting anything to come at him from behind. Beetlejuice turned his head around, quirking a brow. Yellow eyes looked the pair up-and-down. Hm. Normally monsters didn't just mill around in the real world. Maybe he was still in the Neitherworld? He frowned to himself as he rounded completely. He adjusted his grip on the bucket of cleaning supplies uneasily.
"Oh yeah. Yeah sure!" he responded shrilly, nearly forgetting to mask his voice, "I'm the maid here, you can call me Ms. Beetleman, head of Ms. Beetleman's Housekeeping Services...Incorporated."
He gave a big "trust me" smile, displaying nearly all of his putrid teeth.
"I'm just waiting for - um - Mr... Mr. Schmuck here to open the door for me. I suppose I could try knocking harder."
He whipped around. He glared and lifted a fist, slamming the door with it as hard as he could.
When Schnitzel spoke, Chowder translated "Um schnitzel says can you explain why we're here exactly?"
"Schmuck? Heh. That's a funny name for your boss" Chowder giggled. He saw the woman slamming the door. Then suddenly a young human woman showed up. He immediately spoke first "You don't happen to know where Mr. Schmuck is do you miss?" She then shook hands with the young woman "Hiya IHeart. My name's chowder and this is Ms. Beetleman and my friend Schnitzel" XXXX
"Rada, rada, rada" Schnitzel's tone was evidentially suspicious as he asked the question Chowder explained. The smile the person gave was anything but trusting. But the rock monster had nothing else to go on so he had no choice but to follow. He then saw a young woman who was confused about Mr. Schmuck and who the woman was. Immediately the rock monster shouted "Rada! Rada rada!" As if to say "I knew it" XXXX
IHeart rushed as there was loud slamming. She opened the door to find three rather different characters. She then heard the young cat rabbit ask of a mister schmuck and replied "Schmuck? I'm sorry. I.. Oh geez. No there's nobody like that" She chuckled before responding "I don't know the three of you so you clearly are new. Quick. Come in. Come in. I'm IHeart by the way"
