“Nerd humor: you know I love it.”
Name: Beetlejuice
Age: several centuries
Where is this character from? Beetlejuice (cartoon)
Why did you pick him/her?: he is my tiny trash son
Personality: Beetlejuice is a crude, disgusting dead guy with freakish godlike ghost powers which he abuses for his own amusement on a frequent basis. But don’t judge too soon; he’s also an obnoxious con artist and doesn’t bathe ever. He’s totally the sort of guy you want to hang out with. To his credit, he’s not actually evil or anything, nor is he entirely unfeeling, evidenced by the care he shows toward his literal only friend, a mortal goth girl named Lydia. He insists that he is an awful, revolting creature and even takes pride in this fact. However, at times it’s pretty obvious he’s not completely terrible.
History:
At some point in the past, Beetlejuice happened upon a mortal human named Lydia Deetz. After some event or events, the two of them became close friends. How exactly they ended up friends is pretty ambiguous in the cartoon (but if the movie is anything to go by, it’s weird). The two of them would often spend their time in the Neitherworld, which is a strange and unusual land where dead people and various monsters live, and it also happens to be where Beetlejuice lives. Usually Beetlejuice would end up doing a thing he shouldn’t and gets in trouble for it, and Lydia is often the one to fix things. Beetlejuice would deny that he has any boundaries at all, but it’s pretty obvious Lydia has some sway on his opinion. Beyond her, the ghost with the most is basically uncontrollable by any means. He does what he wants – he’s already dead so what does he care?
When he ended up caught in the war, Beetlejuice figured it was no big deal to him. That was, until he discovered he was unable to return to the Neitherworld. Still, he wasn’t too greatly panicked over the whole thing. But he did need someplace to crash – and since he happened to find that the Critic’s Army had rooms available… he signed himself up. He’ll never admit it, but it bothers him that he apparently can’t contact Lydia.
Allies: Lydia, Jacques, Ginger, Critic’s Army, open to RP
Enemies: Ask ThatGuy’s Army, Facilier’s Army, open to RP
Plans: It would be great if we had a Lydia – or maybe even movie-verse versions of some of the characters? It’d be interesting to see anyone try to control him XD
