(OCC: March 20th. A bad title I know. Lilo/Dipper friendship thread)
Lilo had to admit. This was the first time in a LONG time that she saw another human kid. Granite many of the human "kids" were older than her but they weren't kids they were teens. It was technically a whole new level of age for the Hawaiian. So when Dipper came into the scene Lilo was surprised but pleased. Something about his arrival caused her interest to skyrocket. Getting to know him seemed like a great idea. Even if he was a bit of a jerk, getting to know him would probably be beneficial in some way. So Lilo went to the living room and saw Dipper there. Because she was so calm and collected, she rushed over to the boy, uncaring of what he was doing and said "Hello! You don't know me yet but you do now! I'm Lilo"
Lilo was correct. Dipper was in the living room, currently unaware of his environment as he had a book open, held close to his face as he read, mind active as he was trying to piece together the mystery as to why he was here to begin with. He had been told he was in a parallel reality, and as shocking as the news was, Dipper wasn't completely surprised...or at least as not as much as some of the other "guests" staying at the Nostalgia Critic's home. Sure, he assumed the deed must've been the doing of some sort of force lurking around Gravity Falls, but when he was informed that it was the work of an evil scientist who wanted world domination, the boy knew he had to find a way back home. And fast.
That was why he was reading the book; Alternate Realities by Joel Davis. He found the helpful read while exploring the house he had to now call home. Juse his luck too, or else he would've gone out by himself to buy a boom at the closest book store, or bother other army members trying to scrarch the surface of the mystery. Regardless, Dipper found himself on a good start trying to the puzzle together until a feminine yet young voice suddenly grabbed his attention.
"Huh?! What?" He exclaimed in shock, dropping his book on the floor as a result. When he realized it was only Lilo, a wave of relief came over him, as he briefly furrowed his brows out of annoyance and then reverted back to their original states. "Oh, uh nice to meet you Lilo," His voice trailed, skeptical of this random girl that just approached him and dared to interrupt his peace. "What's up?" He asked, bending over to pick up the book.
(Ooc: S' alright. It suits them quite well tbh.XD)

Lilo only smiled a little more as Dipper was shocked. Sure, she thought, she was too quick with introductions but hey maybe that would make this easier for them both. His tone, however, suggested annoyance. Did it bother her? Not really. He would like her. Eventually.
"Nice to meet you! What's your name?" She then saw the book he was going to pick up. Tempted to pick it up herself, she came closer but then decided to allow Dipper to pick it up instead. Taking property, in Lilo's mind and in anyone else's mind rather, wasn't something considered a great thing. Still, she was curious "What were you reading? I like reading too! Do you have a favorite book? Why were you reading that? It looks long!" As she said this, her head was trying to look at the title. Probably invading the young boy's space.
"I come from a movie in this world. Where do you come from in this world? Isn't it weird?" Lilo continued, her face light up as if it was Christmas morning. She was just excited.
"Um...Dipper," The boy spoke with much skepticism. Normally speaking, he wasn't used to being approached by random strangers, let alone strangers with the same amount of energy as parakeet. Regardless, Dipper was preparing himself to reply to her first question, only to be bombarded by several more. Almost instinctively, he pulled the book out of Lilo's sight, a small scowl traced along his face before shutting it and setting it down beside him. That kind of nosy, boundlessly perky behavior-there was only one person he would be lenient with when she behaved like this. Of course, he was talking about his twin, Mabel. She was the only exception to his normal rules. The thing was, Mabel wasn't here.
Dipper shook his head with melancholy at the thought of the ball of warm, silly energy that was his sister. Odds, were she was most likely back in Gravity Falls, from away from this nonsense and chaos. However, there was the slight possibility that she somehow ended up here like him, and unlike him didn't have the good fortune of arriving in front of Rose's or the Nostalgia Critic's home. That tugged at his heart, knowing that it was indeed possible that she could've ended up with those disgusting people. He could've pondered about it some more, only to be called back to reality by Lilo's last question, completely forgetting about her previous questions. Not intentionally, by all means, the boy just simply zoned out for a bit in the realm of his thoughts. "Pff. Yeah weird tell me about it," He gave a nervous chuckle and rubbed the back of his head while trying to come up with a solution to her last question. "I came from an animated show apparently, one that hasn't even aired yet." He responded, still couldn't shake off how strange the concept was, being a fictional and thought to be imaginary character. It was odd and a bit disturbing in his eyes, and quite possibly a mystery waiting to be solved.
It seemed her energetic response wasn't working. It started to get her worried. Dipper probably was nervous. That or she just wasn't getting through to him. She frowned a bit at his skepticism, worried she went to far. "Dipper? That's a nice name" She said, trying not to freak him out. Her energy was still there and her happiness was there but it had a sense of worry. "I'm sorry for being a bit too excited there. I'm just glad I'm not the only human kid anymore is all"
She then beamed as Dipper mentioned he was from a animated show according to this world. "We're both animated! That's cool. Weird but cool!" Common stuff to ground on was pretty good. "So where are you from in your world. I'm from Hawaii. A normal place but different kind of situation. I like your hat by the way" She praised, trying desperately for this boy to at least like her.
Slowly, Dipper inhaled a breath and forced a smile. He guessed he couldn't completely blame Lilo for her chipper demeanor, he certainly began to feel deprived of social interaction with peers his age after a while. Or perhaps not, he wasn't exactly the most social butterfly to begin with-but he was human nonetheless and they needed at least some form of contact to feel a sense of worth, yes?
"No, you're okay. It's just that I'm not used to people approaching me like that, well maybe except for my sister." He chuckled at the thought before it occurred to him that Mabel did the same exact thing for the most part when it came to dealing with new faces. Holding no sense of shyness and a confident aura, she made the best of any social situation and tried to coax more reserved folks out of their shells. It was also more than likely that she was trying to do the same thing to him. Even Dipper himself knew he wasn't the most welcoming guy at times, his head always hidden in some sort of riddle or book that he often missed the most obvious of social cues. He had always been gracious to have his twin around in times like those.
Following that train of thought, his attention returned to the girl and how she spoke of her native home in her alternate reality. "Hawaii, huh? That's actually pretty cool," He spoke a genuine smile spreading on his face as he gradually began to find himself more comfortable with Lilo's presence. "I'm from California, but I was spending the summer up in Oregon with my grunkle before I ended up here. That's where I got this hat" He concluded, using a finger to gently push the rim of his cap upwards since he began to notice it was beginning to slip down his face.

"You have a sister?! So do I!" Lilo said happily "Mine's older than me. She's practically a adult. How old is your sister?" Lilo said, glad more and more things came about. She realized the two did in fact have some things in common. She smiled, glad that at least she wasn't annoying him too much. She nodded a little as he admitted to not being completely used to hyperactivity besides said sister of his.
"California? That's nice. Oregon seems nice too" She then saw his hat with the blue tree and grinned. She was interested and responded "Oh you spending the summer with your grunkie? Who's grunkie? How come you were spending the summer there?" She was just curious. Plus this knowledge would maybe explain why he was shy. Or why he was keeping to himself before she came along.
Dipper continued to smile, gradually becoming more and more natural as Lilo spoke, bursting with questions it seemed as the corners of his mouth remained upward. "We're twins, actually." He replied, not revealing the fact that Mabel was a mere five minutes older than him. No one needed to know that part of his life.-they have always been in the same school grade and peer range, so why on Earth did it matter? Perhaps he was slightly insecure about it.
The boy shrugged at the girl's second statement. "Yeah, I guess," He said humbly, not exactly read to speak of the supernatural mysteries that ran amuck throughout the town of Gravity Falls. Even if his current situation was beyond human comprehension, Dipper very well understood that his stories could very well come off a fantasy, especially to those who came from more grounded realities. He didn't want to be labeled as a loon already. "Oh you mean Grunkle Stan? He's my dad's uncle, "Grunkle" is just a portmanteau for grand-uncle." He explained.
The thought of family still ached his heart, which was perhaps the drive for asking a question of his own. "Say, um did your sister end up here by any chance?" He asked, curious regardless of what the answer was.
"Oh that's cool! Twins. Never met a twin before. What's that like?" Lilo's curiosity was continuing. Mostly because Dipper just seemed like a interesting boy despite his nonchalant responses to her. Although more reserved, there was a inner hyperness Lilo knew she might find or at least a excitement he had about something.
"Oh... Cool. Interesting. Never heard of that before" Lilo said with a big smile. She then felt a sense that he was hiding something. Probably something even more interesting than what let on. But all in good time. All in good time, she'd know more about him.
Hearing his question about her sister made her nod, but cautiously, worried that it may make him sad or something seeing he didn't really have anyone he knew here thus far. "She's normally busy around here though. Working to help, which is understandable. She always is working but I guess that makes sense too since our parents have been gone a while" Lilo's expression became sadder. More depressed.
