Something There That Wasn't There Before (Douglas)

Johnathan grinned as he headed into the kitchen. The movie night with the other kids a couple days ago had been a lot of fun. Until it was over and they had to clean up and go to bed. Thankfully school wasn't until tomorrow. His dad had talked about him being homeschooled and he knew the others had as well. If they were going to insist on joining this war they couldn't go around looking like they'd be in a fight. It would attract too much attention.

Johnathan loved going to school though. Flirting with girls, playing sports, talking with his friends. He just wasn't sure if he wanted to give that up yet. Well, at least he wouldn't be giving everyone up. They were still the kids here and Douglas. The guy was his best friend even though talking in Victorian England speech got annoying at times. But he had his charm. And he was hot. He wasn't really sure when it had happened but he'd started to fall for his friend. He'd been bi for years but dated girls not finding the right guy.

But he'd kept quiet. He didn't want to wreck their friendship or make it awkward. What if Douglas was straight? Or he just didn't like him that way? Johnathan sighed again as he made up a cup of coffee. Soon it was done as he took a sip. He then heard a voice and jumped. Coffee went all over his shirt and the counter. He gasped taking off his shirt and tossing it to the counter so he wouldn't get burned. He blushed as he was completely embarrassed as he grabbed some paper towels trying to clean up the mess. It was then he noticed who came in. Douglas. And here Johnathan was shirtless with coffee spilled all over him.

"Keep calm. It's just your friend Douglas. Sure you have a crush on him but there's no reason to make it weird." thought Johnathan.

"Did you ask me something? I wasn't paying attention before." said Johnathan.

He kept cleaning trying to change the subject. He then poured himself a fresh cup of coffee adding sugar and cream to it and waited it to cool for a little bit. He turned back to Douglas.

"You want some coffee?" asked Johnathan.

Douglas was one of the few children who had graduated school and were full-time members of the war. Although Elisa insisted on going to college, he and his father hal successfully pushed her to allow him to fight in the war instead, though Elisa made Douglas swear to keep on his toes and be careful and allow Hal to keep a eye on him. Although his best friend johnathan went to school still, Douglas was very content with staying behind and waiting for his best friend to come back so they could chat together. Although he was more "victorian" in language, the two hit off incredibly well because of Johnathan's patience and Douglas' charisma. Douglas found Johnathan a fantastic friend and yet he felt that he and johnathan needed to be more. He never had the nerve to ask because Johnathan was more interested in girls, or so he thought, and so Douglas felt it would've ruined their friendship. Yet, Douglas' need to tell him was increasing. Because douglas himself was bi and found Johnathan to be the one above all people to be his equal.

Now, Douglas was contemplating of how to confess these feelings. He didn't know what to do so for now he'd just hang out with Johnathan like always. Since a majority of the children were either in bed sleeping or in their rooms hanging out, Johnathan was just there with him. Douglas went over and asked "I say Johnathan! Quite a fun night last night, yes?" Suddenly the other boy jumped and spilled coffee all over his shirt, resulting in making the younger man take it off all together and clean up all the coffee. Douglas couldn't help but stare as Johnathan's shirtless chest was displayed and found it extremely attractive but he shook those thoughts out of his mind when Johnathan asked him a question. "Yes, I said last night was fun. Wait, let me help you" He quickly got more paper towels and got the spots that johnathan missed. He then nodded as Johnathan asked if he wanted coffee "Yes. That would be lovely, thank you. Are you alright? Did you get burned at all?"

He looked to the shirt then to Johnathan, before instantly remembering how attractive johnathan was without a shirt and he blushed at the mere thought. "I say. Let me go get another shirt for you, yes?"

[Dean Winchester]

ohnathan grinned at Douglas.

"Thanks for the help. Guess I just spaced out when you came in. At least Brynn or Jerry didn't see this. I'd probably never live it down." said Johnathan.

He grinned as he poured him a cup and set it on the counter to cool a bit. As tempted as he was Douglas to end up shirtless too he didn't want to risk his friend getting hurt. He shook his head at Johnathan's last question.

"No I didn't get burned. I got my shirt off in time thankfully." said Johnathan.

He paused as Douglas started to blush as Johnathan realized he was staring at him and asked for another shirt. Johnathan grinned wondering if Douglas liked him more than a friend. But Johnathan decided that was just wishful thinking.

"Actually that was my last shirt. We've been so busy lately no one's had time to do the laundry in awhile. I'll just do some today. Although I might need some help. Last time I turned some of my white shirts pink and Brynn teased me for weeks after that." said Johnathan.

He blushed remembering that incident as he set his cup down with a grin.

"I am a bit hungry though. Think I'll try to make some eggs and bacon." said Johnathan.

He walked to the door and slipped on some coffee he missed. Before he knew it he tumbled forward knocking Douglas over as they landed on a heap and he realized Douglas was on top of him. Johnathan blushed again as he hadn't been this close to Douglas since they were kids. Before he realized he suddenly leaned forward and kissed him. Suddenly realizing what he was doing Johnathan shoved Douglas off him as he got up.

"Sorry. Don't be angry with me. I just-"

He trailed off not able to think of the words as he bolted from the room thinking he just ruined a friendship.

"He's not going to speak to me ever again. Now I made it weird. I shouldn't have gotten up this morning." thought Johnathan.

He ran upstairs to their room and sat on his bed. But then he remembered he shared it with Douglas. This would be the first place he'd look. Johnathan got up but Douglas was faster than he thought as now he was blocking the door. And for once Johnathan was just speechless so he just looked at the floor not sure what to say.

[Henry V/Hal]

"Not an issue at all. It is not a problem. Let's not bother with it now" Douglas responded gently. He then looked at Johnathan's torso but snapped out of it when Johnathan actually responded to his question about being burnt. "Ah good then. We won't have to get the medical team involved. I am glad you aren't hurt, as simple as the situation before us is"

At Johnathan's grin, Douglas had a strange but pleasant feeling flow through him like a river. He had a pretty good idea of what johnathan was thinking and Douglas was about to say something but Johnathan's response to him once again threw him off. "Well then. Maybe we should let the shirt cool and put it in the laundry along with other dirty clothing. You and I can do it easily" Douglas responded, responding second-handedly as if he was distracted.

"I myself aren't hungry quite yet so feel free not to cook for me, I will make it myself if I wish" Douglas responded again, not really paying attention enough to focus more on the conversation and more with johnathan's torso and voice. He was getting so attracted it was driving the young man mad. He then saw Johnathan trip and he responded "Johnathan, be careful--hey!" He then collided to the group in a heap with his friend and somehow went on top of him. Once again douglas was at a loss for words and he saw johnathan's face become closer with his. Far more than any time of the two boys lives have they been this close. Suddenly he felt soft lips touch his own and he was shocked but also extremely interested but before he could completely embrace it, he felt shoved off and johnathan apoligizing before just leaving.

"Johnathan, no! Wait!" He said, surprising himself but founding sincerity within his own voice. He ran to follow his friend, because he now knew what johnathan felt about him and the same was meant for douglas and he had to let the other young man know. He followed johnathan to the same room they slept together on and blocked the door to deliberately keep johnathan in the same room. Douglas responded softly, seeing johnathan afraid "You need not be upset with yourself. I'm not upset, on the contrary, I've been wanting to tell you something today. You just... well.. showed me your feelings first" He walked closer to johnathan and responded gently "Johnathan. I... I have feelings for you and I have a good feeling it is the same with you. Yes?"

[Dean Winchester]

Johnathan looked up at him in shock hearing those words.

"You have feelings for me?" asked Johnathan.

He paused in complete shock stepping back and sitting on the bed not wanting to fall over again. He paused and looked up at Douglas before nodding.

"Yes. I have feelings for you. For awhile now. I'm not really sure when it started but it just happened. But you're my best friend. I didn't want to ruin our friendship or make it weird. And I thought I had." said Johnathan.

He paused waiting for Douglas to speak next.

Douglas' blush increased as Johnathan asked for a confirmation that he had feelings for him. He silently nodded, gulping because of the courage it took to admit this. His father told him to be assertive and things would be fine but douglas wasn't raised in a royal background, he was raised in a modern world where many were self-conscious of others thoughts. He did respond though assertively "Aye. I really do. We have bonded over the years but I've began to just feel that you were someone I wanted to be together with"

He came closer to Johnathan by sitting down on the bed next to him, but deliberately kept himself away for the moment. He listened as Johnathan confessed he felt this way for a while but said nothing due to the fear of ruining their friendship. Douglas chuckled softly "That is amusing because I acted the same way. I had felt this way for a while but never confessed because you were with other people and I did not want to ruin the bond we had" He turned to johnathan and responded happily "But now that we both know our feelings, this makes me realize that it didn't ruin our friendship, it makes us so much more and better than that. Well if you want that is"

[Dean Winchester]

Johnathan grinned as Douglas spoke say he had began to have feelings for him. But he didn't say anything because Johnathan was dating other people. And he didn't want to ruin their friendship.

"Wow. So we were both too scared to say anything. So we owe this all to you startling me. If you hadn't I wouldn't have spilled my coffee and started all of this. So thank you." said Johnathan.

He paused as Douglas spoke again. Johnathan grinned.

"I want both. I think this can only strengthen our friendship but now we can have more." said Johnathan.

Johnathan pulled Douglas closer into another kiss enjoying the moment.

(ooc: up to you but be amusing if Douglas let Johnathan were one of his shirts to wear eventually. And it could end up being too big on Johnathan. But he wears it anyway. xd)

(OCC: Oh my god. I am totally in for it. It'll be so cute)

Douglas couldn't help but grin in amusement as Johnathan said that the two were so afraid of speaking to the other, they should've thanked the fact Douglas startled him to spill his coffee, for without that the chances of their awareness of their feelings would never be revealed. "If shirley was here, she'd probably say the same thing, but you're right. Without that, I would've still been afraid to tell you. You are welcome, I suppose" He shrugged and blushed a bit.

He then smiled softly as Johnathan said he wanted both, that this could strengthen their friendship and make it into something more. Then he felt himself being pulled but he didn't resist, he allowed Johnathan to come closer and the other young man kissed back as Johnathan kissed him again. This time Douglas savored it and found himself feeling very content with the feeling. Being kissed by johnathan was something douglas only imagined but now that it was happening, it seemed to be so right. Douglas felt himself get even closer as the kiss went on and eventually he let go, because of needing to breathe and he responded to johnathan "That... That was incredible. I never have been kissed that way before. I've never been kissed at all" He blushed "You really are a good kisser, johnathan"

[Dean Winchester]

Johnathan chuckled at Douglas's words.

"I'm sure she would say something like that. But I'm glad we agree that this is all your fault. Although if I'd known I probably wouldn't have been shirtless so much. Especially when I was training or working out. I saw you staring at me in the kitchen but thought I was just imagining things. Now I see you were checking me out." said Johnathan.

Johnathan smiled as Douglas kissed him back. This kiss was better than the first one. It was passionate and he could feel Douglas did love him. He grinned at Douglas's words.

"It certainly was. And I haven't felt this way either. Wait. I was your first?" said Johnathan.

He looked at him in shock and smiled. Then immediately felt guilty looking down.

"Now I wish you'd been my first kiss. I had many girlfriends but I guess I was just using them to try to get over you. But my relationships never lasted beyond a few dates because every time I kissed them I kept picturing it was you instead of them. I eventually just stopped dating girls realizing I was just leading them on and wanted to get over you before I dated again. But I guess I don't have to anymore. But I want you to know I didn't go beyond kissing. So there will be some firsts for us when we're ready." said Johnathan.

He paused blushing again. Then his stomach growled sending Johnathan blushing even further.

"I'm still starving. I think I'm going to go back and cook something. And probably should clean up that floor to make sure no one else slips. Care to join me?" asked Johnathan.

[Douglas Plantagenet]

Douglas nodded as Johnathan agreed Shirley would definitely say the same thing but his blush intensified when the gig was up, Johnathan was now aware that he was checking him out. "Well it is very hard to not look. You are a very attractive person... I mean, it is not easy to deny it. Well, I mean, that is... I'm just making it worse aren't I?" He chuckled out of nervousness but tried to not appear too nervous. He didn't want johnathan to worry about it. It was just Douglas' nerves.

Douglas then nodded meekly as Johnathan asked, out of shock, that if John was really the first person to kiss him. Unlike John who took out his confused feelings for Douglas by dating others, Douglas took it out by training with his father, or spending time with his mother, or babysitting James and Arthur. He did it in a less romantic approach and more with a social approach. He then saw Johnathan feel guilty and tell him that he did it only to get over him. Douglas was touched and smiled, holding johnathan's hands "It is alright, I do not mind that you kissed other people. I am glad you are my first. I wanted you to be my first, regardless of experience or not. Also, I am glad you are honest with me now, I know that I care about you and you with me" He then got shy again once John said that when the both of them were ready, the two would have firsts together. Douglas understood that very well and nodded immediately with a rather excited grin "Of course. Whenever we are ready"

Douglas looked down at John's stomach and grinned despite himself, he found it really cute especially since it made Johnathan blush so much. He listened to the other and nodded "Yes. I am quite hungry myself" He then had a idea on how to solve Johnathan's half-naked torso "Hold on. Before we go down. I think I have a solution to your shirt issue" He quickly went into his drawers and found a T-Shirt that was red with a lion in the center. He gave it to johnathan and responded softly "I will do the laundry later but until then, you are entirely free to wear this"

[Johnathan Winchester]

Johnathan grinned as Douglas confessed he was staring. He'd inherited a lot of his father's charm and sarcasm or at least that's what Dean had said.

"I guess my abs are hard to resist." said Johnathan.

He chuckled as Douglas seemed to get really nervous and smiled.

"You're just adorable. Especially when you're nervous. I'm glad you're interested in me that way. We might want to tone it down a bit in public. I don't think my family or others will want to see you trying to undress me with your eyes." said Johnathan.

He grinned as Douglas took his hands and he felt a lot better just by the contact. Then Douglas spoke and Johnathan relaxed.

"You may not have been my first kiss but you will be my last. I don't want anyone else but you." said Johnathan.

He blushed as Douglas seemed amused he was hungry. He grinned as Douglas said he was hungry as well.

"So all that kissing worked up an appetite then? You certainly weren't hungry awhile ago." teased Johnathan

He paused as Douglas brought him a shirt. Johnathan grinned taking it.

"It smells like you." said Douglas.

He blushed realizing what he was saying as he put it on. It was a bit big on him though but he didn't mind. His stomach grumbled again and he blushed again.

"I think we should go eat before my stomach starts eating itself." said Johnathan.

He grinned heading downstairs knowing Douglas would follow. He cleaned up the kitchen first making sure no one else would spill on anything. He took a sip from his coffee which had gotten a little cold but he didn't mind. He then went to the fridge and started pulling out eggs, bacon, and sausages to cook as he grabbed some frying pans and began preheating them so he could put food on them.

[Douglas Plantagenet]

"They are" Douglas sincerely stated, blushing still. He couldn't help himself. He felt like a kid this way but it was true. Johnathan just did that to him. Now that his feelings were out, the crush-like state on douglas' behalf was showing much more. And the fact that Johnathan was so attractive didn't really make things better for the other.

"Yes of course. I understand completely. I will do my best to control myself" Douglas said, blushing still. The last thing he wanted was to embarrass Johnathan, Johnathan's parents or his own parents. He did beam though when he was called adorable. He enjoyed all the praise he was getting from Johnathan and responded back "It is just you are so charming. I can't help it" He chuckled softly after saying this

"And I do not want anyone else but you either" Douglas replied with honesty. He really wanted Johnathan above all other people. Allowing himself to be kissed only by Johnathan sounded like a dream that came to reality. He then shrugged softly and teasingly smiled back as Johnathan said his appetite was thanks to being kissed. "Perhaps. Or maybe it was the fact I just want to be near you that made me hungry" He teased back

Douglas then blushed bright red as Johnathan told him that his shirt smelled very similar to him. He couldn't say anything but blush and smile as the other boy put his own shirt on, despite it being a bit too big, and just going downstairs. Almost like a excited puppy, Douglas followed and saw Johnathan begin to cook eggs, bacon and sausage. Feeling a bit bold, Douglas went over and took johnathan in for a kiss once more, a bit more passionate than the last time before letting go all of a sudden. "Sorry" He said, not very sorry whatsoever "I shall allow you to cook now. I'm distracting you" He said, a unapologetic smile on his face

[Johnathan Winchester]

Johnathan chuckled as Douglas blushed again.

"You're just too adorable. I can't believe we kept our feelings quiet for so long. Now I can look at you freely without waiting for you to not be paying attention." said Johnathan.

Johnathan chuckled as Douglas said he would control himself.

"Good. Save all the good stuff when we're alone. But you can still kiss me, and love me in public. Just make sure to keep it toned down is all." said Johnathan.

He chuckled as Douglas found him charming.

"Well I've never been called charming before. I like that." said Johnathan.

Johnathan grinned as Douglas said he didn't want anyone else either. They kissed again and he grinned as Douglas said the fact he wanted to be near him made him more hungry. He was blushing at his slip about the shirt smelling like Douglas as he saw Douglas blushing as well. The topic was dropped although the shirt still felt odd being a bit big for him. After going downstairs and starting to cook Douglas kissed him and this one was a lot more passionate. He started to walk away and Johnathan paused pulling him back into his arms.

"You think you can kiss me like that and just walk away?" said Johnathan.

He kissed him again in a long and passionate kiss. He reluctantly parted for him to breathe as he grinned.

"And I didn't need to wear an apron that said kiss the cook." teased Johnathan.

He reluctantly let go this time as he resumed cooking.

- Time Skip -

The food was now cooked as Douglas served two plates of food setting them on the table getting out two glasses setting them on the table.

"You ok with orange juice?" asked Johnathan as he poured his own glass.

He handed the carton to Douglas if he wanted it or not as he put a fork in some eggs and started eating.

[Douglas Plantagenet]

Adorable. That was a word he never thought he'd be called. But here he was. He looked down on the floor, beaming with delight, feeling a bit like a little kid again. It felt so nice to not be hiding anymore. His sister probably would have a field day of hearing she didn't have to hear his nonsense about hiding his feelings' for Johnathan anymore. He turned to Johnathan when he said to do all the staring and other things to him when they were alone, but kissing and being flirty in public was fine "Oh good. That seems perfectly fine with me"

"That is good because it fits you" Douglas responded with a honest, confident smile. The shirt topic and others were dropped but he grinned mischievously as Johnathan pulled him back into his arms and he giggled as Johnathan teased him that he couldn't just kiss him and walk away scat-free. He nodded teasingly as Johnathan asked that question before being kissed again, holding onto johnathan as if the world would collapse if he didn't. He relished in the feeling, and felt very, very content by the end of it. "No, with me you do not have to wear such a apron. My kisses for you are entirely available" He felt a tad disappointed as Johnathan let go. But he remembered that breakfast for them was going to be ready. So he was fine with it.

*Time Skip*

"I am fine with orange juice, thank you" Douglas said with a evident happy tone in his voice. He then poured himself some juice and put the carton near them in case they wanted more. He then began to eat Johnathan's food and he grinned "This is delicious. When did you learn to be such a good cook?"

[Johnathan Winchester]

Johnathan grinned at his boyfriend's words. His kisses were always available.

"I'll hold you to that then." said Johnathan.

Soon their food was ready as Johnathan brought him some juice as they sat together eating. He blushed as Johnathan said it was delicious.

"Mom taught me. Uncle Sam used to joke that Dad burned water and was banned from the kitchen after that." said Johnathan.

He chuckled thinking of that memory. His father denied it but Uncle Sam, Aunt Nella, and his mother insisted Dean not be allowed to cook. He paused looking at the shirt realizing he was in one of Douglas's shirts and the lion just made him think of Douglas and now noble he was. He paused at the realization that his father Hal was a king and it clicked.

"Oh my god. I'm dating a prince. Everyone always dreamed they'd have a princess or prince charming to sweep them off their feet. I got the real deal." said Johnathan.

He grinned and glanced at the shirt again.

"I was wondering if I could keep this shirt. It's big but it reminds me of you. Something I'd always have to remember you especially when you're not around. But if it's one of your favorite shirts then I'll just give it back to you after laundry's done." said Johnathan.

He went back to eating not wanting his food to get cold but he also enjoyed the time with his boyfriend. Boyfriend. It still felt so foreign to him. He never expected this to happen and now it had.

"This day's been so wonderful. But if this is a dream I'm going to make this happen for real. And if you're dreaming this up you better come find me and ask me out." said Johnathan.

He grinned showing he was teasing him a little.
