Quote: "Why would you want to be friends with someone who was so much trouble?"
Name: Tara "Terra" Markov
Age: 16
Where is this character from?: Teen Titans
Why did you pick him/her?: Because I'm a sucker for characters who have self-esteem issues and make bad choices because of it. Plus, I've loved her ever since I've watched the show.
Picture:
Personality: Terra can come across as a very confident girl at first. She acts like your typical teenager, although she comes off as quite a bit of an oddball with her mannerisms. Beneath the confident layer, she just wants acceptance and trust. Deep down, she's disgusted by what she's done and how she's hurt people. Although she wants to be trusted, she finds it difficult for her to trust other people easily. Because of her fear of betraying someone she cares about, she tries to keep her distance away from people. When people find out about her secrets, she breaks down pretty badly. She's very quick to believe others have done her wrong and won't hesitate to call them out on it, even if they haven't actually done anything wrong.
History: Born as royalty in the country of Markovia, Terra started life off as a fairly normal girl. She was normal, that is, until she was experimented on alongside her older brother. The siblings gained terrakinetic powers thanks to the experiments. Terra couldn't handle it and ran away from home, fearing that if she stuck around she would hurt the people she cared about. Terra then lived a very nomadic lifestyle, going from place to place without really settling down. Eventually, she stumbled upon the Teen Titans. The team welcomed her into their ranks, but due to a misunderstanding about the lack of control she had over her powers, the blonde left them for a time. She returned after some time with better control of her powers thanks to Slade, an enemy of the Titans. When this was discovered, the Titans threw her out and she decided that Slade was the only person she could trust.
Terra became a foe of the Titans after that experience. After battling the other five teens, she began to be conflicted with which side she really wanted to be on. When a volcano erupted, she decided to sacrifice herself for the good of the people. Because of this, she was turned into stone, now part of the Earth she once controlled. That wasn't the end for her though. Somehow, she managed to come back to life. Deciding she just wanted to be normal, she hid her powers and acted like she was a normal person, even if it meant lying to her friends.
Much to her dismay, not long after having a 'reunion' with Beast Boy, she was transported to Chicago. Wanting to head back home, she was persuaded to join Ask That Guy. Not knowing his true intentions and desperate to go back to her old school, she joined him. Luckily for her, she's able to keep up the act that she's not who she really is and that she's powerless, but she's concerned things won't stay that way forever.
Allies: Kind of the Teen Titans? Otherwise, N/A
Enemies: Slade
Plans: I'd love for someone to push her to the point where she starts using her powers again.
