Quote: "You think you can defeat me? Clearly you haven't met a Navy lantern before."
Name: John Black
Age: 16
Physical Appearance:
Picture(Not required but if you have one it is ok to show it):
Personality:
He's competitive and hates to lose. That competitive nature has gotten the best of him at times over the years but he never gives up. He's an excellent at surfing, and cooking. He cooks in his spare time wanting to work in a restaurant or own one one day. He loves his parents and always tries to make them proud. He's a Navy lantern. Unlike the others he has known about the war from the beginning. Because of his Navy lantern ring that was created at his birth and his parents agreed to train him. The strain of keeping it a secret from the other kids for awhile was hard but he is relieved the others now know of the war.
Navy Lantern Powers (mixture of black & indigo powers)
Navy Energy Conduit: The Navy Lantern Rings are capable of wielding the Navy energy outside of the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum.
Navy Energy Constructs: Navy Lantern Rings can create constructs, but they are seldom created, except when the Navy Lantern was used to wield such abilities or certain weapons.
Flight: Navy Lantern Rings can allow their users to fly.
Reanimation: Upon latching onto a corpse, the Navy Lantern ring will reanimate the body. The ring animating the person within downloads all the memories and superhuman abilities (if they had any) of their previous life, but not their souls. Instead, they are malevolent beings who seek to murder even those they considered friends.
Regeneration: regenerate destroyed limbs to complete the appearance of the corpse. It is possible for the rings to fully regenerate the host to the point that they appear alive, but the rings usually settle for a decayed appearance to terrify the target.
Emotional Reading:are capable of scanning a being's current emotional state and where it falls onto the Emotional Spectrum. They then attack the beings and attempt to remove their hearts. When facing beings with warped mental states, or otherwise addled minds the correlation between the emotion detected and the actual color that the Navy Lanterns see is inverted. Once removed, the hearts are converted to energy. A single heart equals 0.01% of the power needed to fully charge the Navy Lantern battery, and this is apparently shared throughout the rings of the entire Navy Lantern Corps. When the power levels finally reached 100.00%, it enabled the Navy Central Battery to teleport to Coast City and allow Nekron to move from his dimension into this plane of existence.
Life Extinguishing: The Navy Lantern rings are capable of taking hold of a person who had been killed and resurrected, putting them under their control, effectively killing them again.
Emotional Spectrum Mimicry: Somehow, the Navy Lantern rings can mimic the Emotional Spectrum of the other rings.
Energy Blasts: can fire Navy energy blasts.
Force-Field Generation: The rings can create forcefields to protect the bearer and others nearby. The ring can protect the user from the hazards of the void. An atmosphere appropriate to the ring wielder's biology is created inside the force-field, while body temperature is maintained and waste products are removed. Gravitational stresses which could cause injury are stabilized for the ring wielder.
Phasing: The rings allows the wearer to pass through certain solid objects, such as walls. Which objects that are not penetrable are not known, but it may depend upon the strength of the wearer's compassion and the density of the object's molecular structure.
Environmental Playback: Upon request, the ring can recreate a holographic environment based on data in its memory banks. The wielder can observe events in a ghostlike state, but the wielder cannot alter the outcome of the playback. All objects in the playback will appear in the full spectrum of colors, regardless of the wielder's level of expertise creating simulacrum's. The ring will automatically end the playback if outside interference warrants the wielder's undivided attention.
Invisibility & Light Refraction: A ring wielder can render him/her/itself invisible by willing the ring to bend light waves around his/her/its form, as well as that of the ring. Presumably, a similar action allows an experienced ring wielder to create objects of colors other than Navy.
Energy Twin: The ring allows the wearer to create an "energy twin" of his/her/itself that can travel far faster than the ring wielder's physical form. While the energy twin is active the ring wielder remains motionless, his/her/its life force needed to guide the twin. The twin can not alter its surroundings and may only be perceived by the another ring wielder as a Navy, ghostlike image. Any knowledge gained by the twin is transferred back to the wielder's physical form upon recontact with the body. As a rule, a wielder can not create actual, independent duplicates of him/her/itself, as the ring cannot create life.
Energy Absorption: The ring can absorb and store most other energies. Doing so does NOT replenish the normal store of energy the ring has. A ring that needs recharging but contained a store of electricity could only discharge that electricity, for example.
Wormholes & Spacial Warps: The ring grants its wearer access to wormholes in space, enabling the ring wielder to rapidly cut time and distance needed for transport.
Limited Cellular Regeneration: The ring has a limited ability to heal physical injuries.
Universal Translator: The ring can translate virtually any language in the universe, facilitating diplomatic encounters rather than violent confrontations.
Homing Beacon: A homing beacon in the ring can lead one Navy Lantern to another.
Security Protocol: The rings can be programmed. They are coded to the wearer to make them unusable if stolen.
Preset Conditions: Commands can be stored in the ring to be executed at a later date, even if the bearer is not holding the ring.
Thought Relay: Otherwise known as a telepathic link.
Levitation
History:
Being a child of two lanterns was a surprise. Thanks to their powers and technology and magic men could get pregnant as well. Jim ended up pregnant with him and named him after his old friend John Silver. John grew up as a normal competitive boy in school. He learned about his ring early on and had private lessons with his parents how to use his powers. He also agreed not to say a word to anyone at school and any of the kids in the army. He hated lying to his friends but the idea of having a magic ring grant him superpowers was kind of cool as well. He practiced with and without his parents and even with some of the other army members as well. He was a quarterback on the football team and made sure not to use his powers in public. In fact he kept his ring in his locker during games so he wouldn't be tempted.
John learned how to cook from Jim and still hopes to one day open a restaurant of his own someday. His father's the one who taught him football and on the weekends they often play football or frisbee together just the two of them. He enjoys having quality time with each of them separately and the times when they have the whole family together. One thing he really loves to do is just fly. He keeps out of sight of course but it's just a great feeling and a great view. He has a boyfriend Sebastian Percy but they've been dating in secret for months Just when they decided to reveal everything to their families knowledge of the war became widely known. He didn't realize Sebastian was one of the enemy's sons. But he didn't want to let him go. He'd become too attached to Sebastian. He was his rock. Aside from his sister Sebastian was the only one who was the closest to him. He was relieved to not have to share the secret anymore. And he looked forward to fighting as his parents let him join the war as well finally. He just hoped he could find a way to stay with Sebastian even if they had to run away together. But he hoped it wouldn't come to that.
Family: Jim (mother); Black Lantern Spoony (father); Sarah Hawkins & Dark Nella (grandmothers); Ask That Guy (grandfather); Pinocchio, Mano, & Mowgli (cousins); Loki (uncle); La (aunt); Amara (cousin); Alicia (half sister); Chris (half brother); Spoony (second father); Goggles (stepmother)
Allies: Ask That Guy's Army.
Enemies: Facilier's Army; Critic's Army.
Plans: help out in the war; get him a romance.
