Wanting A Perfect Thanksgiving (Ask That Guy's Army)

[Indigo Lantern Jim Black]

(ooc: not bringing any other of my characters since some of my characters are animals, robots, or monsters who don't eat.)

Jim had cooked a lot of food at least for his family. He invited the others but he doubted many would show up. Thanksgiving didn't seem to be a holiday villains would celebrate. But he hoped at least his boyfriend Black Lantern Spoony would show up.

Dark Nella walked in with Pinocchio and Mano. They grinned as they took a seat at the table.

"If you need any help Jim let me know. I'm sure the others will be coming here shortly." said Dark Nella.

Pinocchio grinned at Jim.

"Yeah. Your food's really good. I never had Thanksgiving before. I can't wait to try it." said Pinocchio.

He'd asked Loki and La to come as well as others but he wasn't sure if any of them were going to show up.

Mano grinned. Thanksgiving dinner sounded great. And he was glad Jim had offered to cook. He had a feeling they might be eating a lot of leftovers especially if not many showed up to this dinner.

La walked out followed by Hades, Smith, Natasha, Insuedo, and Chuckles. Pinocchio had asked her to come as it meant a lot to Jim and he wanted his brother to be happy. And La had agreed thinking a dinner would sound nice. And she'd talked the other four men with her into coming. She knew Pinocchio had wanted as much of the army here to come as they could. She smiled and took a seat.

"The food smells delicious Jim. I can't wait to try it." said La.

Hades smirked. He had to admit Jim's cooking was really good. If they'd been back home he'd probably have made Jim his official cook in the Underworld.

"Hey. You're great kid. You could probably work at a restaraunt if you wanted. "said Hades.

Seeing the kid blush Hades chuckled. The kid had been through a lot even before this war and yet Jim was innocent in some ways. It was kind of alluring. No wonder BLS had fallen for him so quickly.

Smith sat next to Insuedo with a grin. The two doctors immediately started chatting about their latest project tuning out the others for now as they waited for the food to be done.

Chuckles grinned as he took s a seat. He'd tried some of Jim's cooking before and he agreed with Hades. Jim could be a professional cook one day if he wanted.

"Yeah. I think you'd be a big hit." said Chuckles.

Natasha grinned silently. This army while bad wasn't as horrible as Fearless Leader. They could come and go as they pleased. Get meals, weapons, whatever. She wished Boris was here but she was considering staying here and not wanting to go back home.

(OCC: Same thing with me also. So all my robots, monsters and animals are not on here. So why zod and not terl? Because terl's a meanie alien who got no time for mananimal holidays)

Ask Thatguy smiled, glad that their son was so determined to please his older brother. Besides, this was a holiday and the kid was entitled to enjoy it. Ask Thatguy sat with Nella and pinnochio and allowed mowgli and pinnochio to sit and talk to each other. This was actually fun. Thanksgiving was a holiday he could get behind

"Of course he'd be a big hit. He's the best" BLS responded happily as he ran downstairs. Jim told him about this and BLS, as much as he didn't like the holiday, would jump as high as jim wanted him to if need be to please him. He smiled proudly as his love was cooking for everyone. The people praising him made him so proud and happy. Jim was getting credit that the lantern thought he deserved. BLS went over and responded softly "Need any help babe?"

Loki didn't understand the america traditions but he knew that this was a celebration of sorts. Pinnochio convinced him to join, saying the holiday was with tons of food and that people who liked each other spread thanks and cheer. It was pretty much the food-based, fall version of christmas apparently. Though the god would never say no to a happy wide-eyed boy who only wanted to make his older brother happy. He saw many of the other members there also, mostly the gods, magicians or humans of the group but still it was enough in loki's opinion. He sat down with la and nodded in agreement as jim began cooking. He smiled as BLS talked to jim and immediately knew what was up but didn't bother correcting it or anything. He responded also "I'm extremely impressed with you Hawkins. Your food is quite delicious last time I tried it"

Dr. Insano wouldn't miss this for the world. A holiday with his friends was a holiday that was good. He made a buzzline to the other two scientists and smiled "Sorry I was late. Rodney's systems were so curious about the holiday. I had to tell him what it was before I shut him off" He then turned to the other scientists and responded "Now back to the special experiment correct?" He smelled the food and hummed, that did smell really good.

Vyce, Zod, Shredder, Karai, Sage, Taffyta and Mowgli all came down quickly. While Vyce didn't want to do it but did it for the sake of not burning bridges, and shredder as well as karai wanting to appear kind to the army, Sage was estatic because he was so hungry and sage made a quick walk to sit next to mano, glad to see mano here. Elsewhere Taffyta say near mowgli and tuned the boys out, waiting for the food to cook and be served so she could go back to reading. Mowgli meanwhile quickly wanted to start chatting with pinnochio his new brother "Heya pinnochio. I'm not really aware of this holiday, man. Can you tell me what it is? I guess that's the negative thing about living in the jungle. You don't know what you celebrate"

[Hades/Nikos Callas]

Jim blushed at the compliments. He just wasn't used to be liked so much for his cooking. He rarely cooked for people aside from his mother. His mother did most of the cooking as he was busy helping out serving orders or cleaning the place. Or goofing off. Well before his adventure to search for Treasure Planet. He'd grown up a lot in that adventure for the better. And he had a feeling this new adventure had helped him as well. He'd been here months and was really close with Jim now. He raised an eyebrow at the nickname babe and grinned. Black Lantern Spoony was one of the people he even let in the kitchen when he was cooking. He grinned at him.

"You should know by now you don't have to ask. I'd love for you to help me." said Jim.

He grinned giving BLS a kiss on the cheek as he went back to cooking up the food.

Dark Nella grinned seeing Ask That Guy and several of the others join him. Jim's cooking certainly drew a crowd. He'd become the official cook after his first meal and he still couldn't handle compliments after all this time. She focused back on Ask That Guy and grinned.

"I'm glad Jim and the others talked us into this. I have a lot of good memories of Thanksgiving. I'm just glad we're here with our family and friends. As it should be." said Dark Nella.

She grinned taking his right hand with her left hand and grinned. She still couldn't believe they were married. She and Ask That Guy were closer than ever after all this time.

"How are you doing my husband?" asked Dark Nella.

She grinned as she still enjoyed calling him her husband. They'd married months ago and yet sometimes it felt like yesterday.

(ooc: I'm assuming they're already married by this point. xd)

La grinned still not sure about this. She paused hearing Mowgli's question and smiled.

"I don't know much about this holiday either. Perhaps you guys could tell those of us who've never celebrated it before." saiod La.

Insuedo grinned as Insano joined him. He nodded and wrapped his arm around his boyfriend giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.

"I'm glad you could make it. Thanksgiving wouldn't be the same without you." said Insuedo.

He smirked as Insano asked about the experiment.

"Yes. We still need some parts for it to work. This will be the best robot we've created. He probably won't be as tough as Mechakara and his daughters but it'll be close." said Inseudo.

Smith nodded with a grin.

"Yes. Thanks to blueprints from Cyclonus I think Project Decepticon is coming off really well." said Smith.

(ooc: Was thinking they're making a Deception robot or weaponry/upgrades for Cyclonus.)

Pinocchio paused as Mowgli asked him and then he frowned. He'd never really had Thanksgiving before. He looked down sadly.

"I... I don't know. I just know it's a dinner." said Pinocchio.

Mano spoke up turning from Mowgli and Pinocchio to La.

"This holiday is about sharing a meal with your friends and family. And giving thanks. The first Thanksgiving was a meal between Pilgrim settlers from England and the native American tribes who lived here. We celebrate that meeting with Thanksgiving." said Mano.

Natasha smirked with a grin. It was an American holiday. One she hadn't really thought much of before but she never turned down good food. Especially not when Jim was cooking. He was like a gourmet chef.

"It's a very good holiday. Don't feel bad about it. It's mostly an American holiday from where I'm from. This is the first time I've celebrated it." said Natasha.

Hades and Chuckles remained silent waiting for the food to begin neither really having much to add to the conversation. Neither had heard of Thanksgiving before either but when Mano explained it all their questions were answered. The smell of that food was pretty great. He turned to Loki with a grin finally speaking to him.

"So did you celebrate anything like Thanksgiving where you're from Loki?" asked Hades.

[Dr. Insano]

(OCC: We need to have them both get hitched by this point so yes, here they're definitely married XD)

Ask thatguy smelled the air and smiled, feeling better about the atmosphere and the people around. There was cheerful talking, people chuckling or laughing, the children were looking hungry, and the people were actually smiling for once. The leader felt pride in his group and acknowledged, after some time, that maybe things would be right for once. He turned to his now wife and grinned happily as she expressed joy of the holiday, saying memories of her friends and family were the reason behind she enjoyed it. "Indeed. As it should be. Our team has become more than that, we're a big protective family" He squeezed her hand and looked joyful as he catched a glimpse of her wedding ring and also saw his right near it. He then kissed her cheek as she asked how he was doing "Just perfect, my lovely wife. I am enjoying that our son and you are with me"

"Yep. What mano said. And we get to fill ourselves up with good food galore. You two will love it" Sage said cheerfully, he also smiled to la and other people who seemed confused with the holiday. Thanksgiving was a time that Sage honestly enjoyed, though christmas was pretty good too. He caught Pinnochio's sadness and patted his shoulder happily "Hey don't feel bad kiddo. A lot of kids your age don't really know it that much either. You'll have a good time" He then turned to mano and responded "Maybe you can tell them a story to pass the time or something"

Embracing Insuedo back, Insano grinned as Insuedo kissed his cheek and responded "I wouldn't miss it for the world. Especially when I have all my friends and you here, insuedo" He then turned to Smith and listened as the two other scientists responded that Project Decepticon was going successfully so far. "Good. Very good. I'm glad we got Cylonus to stay still so I could draw out the blueprints" He groaned "He wouldn't stop complaining though but it was worth getting the blueprints" He then responded curiously "We got the face, arms and legs, but we still need more work on the middle section"

Shredder and Karai knew the holiday well enough so they just kept their mouths shut and listnened. Taffyta celebrated the holiday only for the food so she didn't bother listening either. Lord Vyce looked about curiously to wait for the food, while Zod sat patiently. Normally zod would be demanding about it but having different holidays he had little idea of the holiday so hearing mano explain it was helpful enough to calm him down to some degree

Loki meanwhile was a bit confused with the holiday so the explaination from mano made it much easier to understand. He saw Pinnochio get a bit sad but fortunately Sage covered that, so loki paid attention to Hades' question. He turned to him then la before nodding "Yes. We do indeed. Yet it does not have a name. It is just simply called The Fall Feast" He chuckled "The holidays we have are similar to yours and yet very different. We have no thanksgiving but we do eat heartily around this time" He turned to see both la and Hades paying attention, so he continued "See, when I was younger, Odin and his group of hunters would go search for the biggest elk in the forest of asgard, there he would kill it and we would celebrate that by well eating it. Though if they were not successful they would get a pig and we would eat that instead. Either way we killed and ate a animal, told stories, made jokes and whatnot" He chuckled "It was quite a fun time I will admit. Volstagg, annoying as he was, was quite the story teller, I would be lying if I said he didn't make me laugh" He chuckled again.

(OCC: Completely made this up due to my very small knowledge of norse legends. I want Loki to tell a funny story so badly though)

Black lantern spoony smiled widely as Jim blushed at the praise given. He gave a teasing smile as Jim raised an eyebrow at his nickname for him, BLS just enjoyed him so much by this point. He leaned in at the kiss on the cheek and cheekily went over to help Jim. He helped cook the stuffing, mashed potatoes and biscuits. He said teasingly "I know but it's always is nice for you to say yes to my questions. I like it when you let me help you" He kissed his cheek after saying so. "You know, you should accept the praise they give you. You deserve it"

Dark Nella grinned at Ask That Guy.

"Family, friends, and delicious food. A perfect holiday. Although it might be more perfect if we could slip away to ourselves and let someone else watch the kids for a bit." whispered Dark Nella.

She whispered so no one could overhear. She didn't want to accidentally hurt any of the kids feelings. While she loved her family it was nice to get some alone time with her husband once and awhile.

Mano turned to Sage.

"I don't really know that many stories. Although I bet any stories you tell would just give everyone nightmares." said Mano, teasing him a little.

Pinocchio chuckled at the pair feeling a little better. He could never stay mad or sad for long in this place. Not with those two goofballs around.

"Thanks. Well I know about it now so I won't be confused about it next time." said Pinocchio.

Pinocchio listened to Loki's story and smiled.

"That was a great story Uncle Loki. The Fall Feast sounds great." said Pinocchio.

Insuedo turned to Insano and grinned.

"I'm glad to have you as well. Perhaps we could sneak away and do some "experimenting" later. Just the two of us." said Insuedo.

He took a drink and nearly choked at Smith's question of experimenting with them. He gasped and shook his head.

"Oh no. This is a side project. I just want Insano's help with it. That's all." said Insuedo.

He'd have corrected Smith more clearly but they were children present. He nodded glad to know the project was going smoothly on all ends.

"Soon we could have our own Decepticons built. Having robots that big would certainly help. Then again Linkara's defeated Neutro how many times now? We need to make these guys obey only our commands." said Insuedo.

Smith turned to them with a grin.

"Could I go experiment with you?" asked Smith.

He frowned when Insuedo said it was a side project not understanding the euphemism at all. But he agreed to let them do their own thing.

"Alright. But if I can be any help do let me know." said Smith.

He smiled glad Project Decepticon was going so well.

"With Rodney, Mechakara, and the others helping us we should have it finished in no time." said Dr. Smith.

La and Hades grinned agreeing with Pinocchio about the story and waited until Loki and Pinocchio were finished before voicing their own opinions.

"We never had anything fancy like a fall feast or Thanksgiving. We had parties on Olympus but not that many. And well I wasn't really invited to many. Mostly cause I kind of kidnapped my nephew and tried to kill him several times. Plus I was sort of the black sheep in my family. Although this party sounds like it'll be fun." said Hades.

La nodded.

"Well my parents died so long ago I barely remember them. I don't really remember much before I became queen of Opar. I've ruled it so long it's hard to remember what my life was like before. And well we didn't really have that many festivals or parties either in Opar. It's not like I wanted my Leopard Men to have fun. I had to keep them in line and make them afraid of me after all." said La.

Natasha and Chuckles remained silent listening to all the stories while waiting for the food to be done.

Jim grinned at BLS.

"I'm glad to hear that. But the answer would always be yes to this question. I love it when we cook together. It just makes it more special." said Jim.

When BLS gave him a couple kisses on the cheek Jim grinned. Then he gave BLS a quick kiss on the lips before going back to cooking. He then heard BLS's words and smiled.

"I do accept it. It's just aside from my mom and Dr. Dopplar I've always been the screw up. And even sometimes I disappointed them as well. People would always say "It's not bad enough her husband ran out on her but she's stuck with a troublemaker like him." They didn't know I was listening. Some probably would have said worse if they had. I guess I'm just not really used to praise." said Jim.

He paused wiping a tear from his face. He still resented his father for leaving but he'd never got a chance to say goodbye. Or yell at him. He was just gone and he never came back.

[Shredder]

"Absolutely. How about after dinner you and I go find ourselves a nice room at a nice hotel?" Ask Thatguy whispered back, a somewhat amused smile gracing upon his features. He turned to loki and immediately thought of asking him after dinner to babysit. Normally loki said yes to it but atg wasn't stupid as to not ask after a certain time. It was polite and the god only asked to just give him a warning and not just wander off. ATG had no problem with that. He smelled the food and responded to nella "God that food smells so good" He then smelled a bit of nella's hair "Ooooh. New perfume dear? Smells lovely"

"They probably would. But they'd be a heck of a lot of fun" Sage winked teasingly to Mano. "I'm tempted to tell one now. Think I should? I'll do my best to keep it clean!" He said to mano and the little group near them(Hades, La, Loki and Pinnochio)

Loki rolled his eyes at Sage, annoyed with his attempt to want to tell stories despite the fact that he knew that his stories were most likely not appropriete. However his attention drifted to Pinnochio who said his story of how the fall feast was made was interesting to the boy, Loki couldn't help but smile. He turned to hear both hades and la didn't have anything of a fall feast or thanksgiving, mostly because hades's family had parties that he himself was never invited to due to his involvement with hercules and that La didn't want her slaves to enjoy themselves and work only. He was interested in the fact they had no holidays while he and the midgardians had some. "Interesting notion. Quite something I never really knew about. Glad to understand more of your cultures, hades and la" He then turned to Pinnochio and the others "I just remembered a funny story that might amuse you all. Care to hear it?"

"Oooooh. You know me too well Insuedo. A excellient suggestion. After dinner, how's that sound?" He responded back before Smith asked if he could come, and Insano blushed bright red. "Long story smith. It's a extremely private experiement. I'll explain later" He turned around to hope the kids of the group were either not paying attention or didn't hear at all. He then nodded more about Project Deceptcon and smiled, glad to move on from the little fiasco. "Agreed. Let's get Mechakara or the other robots to help make sure it runs smoothly and obeys us. We don't want to have it go messy or nasty on us"

BLS smiled kindly, with extreme affection in response to Jim's talk of him always saying yes because he enjoyed BLS helping him. That cooking together was something he loved and it made it more special. "Well you're special. So everything you do is special, but I'm glad I make cooking more special that it already is" He then listened as Jim stated somethings that weren't all that nice or pleasant. That Jim was always seen as a screwup due to causing a lot of trouble in the past, that as much as Dr. Dopplar or his mother loved him he was screwing up which made people talk badly. The lantern sneered at the idea but saw that jim was hurt, and BLS stopped cooking for a moment to kiss Jim on the lips before hugging him. "Listen baby. You're no screwup. Sure you made mistakes but that's normal. Hell, they shouldn't judge just because a teen was rebelling and making mistakes because god forbid teens ever act normal" He hugged tighter "Baby, listen, I could care less if you tripped on your own two feet. I love you and it's thanksgiving. It's high-time you start having fun"
