Nella walked into the kitchen and sighed. So many people were pairing up here. She supposed it made sense with such a big group in a small amount of space. Even Chick and Elisa had someone. And Joe and Todd had both rejected Chick and she was with Critic of all people. That still surprised her as for awhile they like frenemies. She was a bit jealous that she was one of the single ones here. She began making sandwiches and a random song just popped into her hand from Sleeping Beauty. One of Aurora's songs. She started singing along thinking she was alone.
I wonder, I wonder I wonder why each Little bird has someone To sing to sweet things to A gay little love melody? I wonder, I wonder If my heart keeps singing Will my song go winging To someone who'll find me And bring back a love song to me?"
She smiled as the song was over as her sandwiches were done. She picked up the plate and turned to see someone had been standing in the doorway and she blushed.
"How long have you been standing there?" asked Nella.
Once more, Sam was up early. Except on that particular morning, he decided to go out for a light stroll around the neighborhood. Maybe that wasn't safe, but hey, Sam would take his chances. After finishing up his exercise routine for the morning, he came back to the Critic's house. It was still morning, so hopefully nobody had noticed he was gone for... however long he was gone. Sam seemed to have lost track of time while he was out and about. It wasn't long after he noticed this when he went straight back to the Critic's home. Once he entered, he was careful not to slam the front door. As far as he could tell, most people didn't wake up as early as he did. Sure, maybe a handful of others did, but Sam had yet to know them or their sleeping schedules. He paused, hands stuffed into his jacket pockets.
Was that singing he heard?
His gaze fell upon the doorway to the kitchen, a brow arching upwards as he did so. Yeah, that was definitely singing he heard. Now, if you asked Sam what song it was, he wouldn't be able to tell you. Growing up with just himself, his brother, and his dad, he didn't grow up with any Disney princess films, or really most things considered 'girly.' Hearing the song was foreign to him. The lanky young man took careful steps towards the kitchen doorway, and stopped once he reached it. Inside the kitchen, someone was making sandwiches. He observed from afar, unsure if he should say anything, or just back out and do find something to do. Before he could make his decision, the woman turned to find him.
"Uh, heh, that's a good question," Sam replied. "I just came back from a walk, and I figured I should go head to the kitchen to grab something to drink. Then I saw you looked kinda busy and wasn't too sure if I should walk in or not." The tall male cleared his throat. "I'm Sam, by the way."
"So you heard me then? Well I guess it's ok. I love to sing. I just don't do it much. Especially lately. Hard to feel like singing when there's a war going on you know." said Nella.
She paused finally recognizing him and grinned.
"You're one of the hot guys from Supernatural." said Nella.
She paused realizing she said that out loud and blushed. She decided to focus on the show hoping he wasn't noticing.
"I love your show. Your adventures with your brother Dean hunting ghosts, witches, demons, and things. You had to go through so much though. Your mother, your girlriend and-"
She paused trailing off realizing she didn't know when he was from. She didn't want to give him future information and end up making something worse especially their father and Bobby's deaths. He eventually died and they might try to prevent his death. And if that happened who knows what could go wrong.
"Anyway I just know some of what you went through or will go through I suppose since I'm not sure what point of time came from your world. But you ever want someone to talk to besides Dean who knows about that kinda stuff I'm always free to listen." said Nella.
She paused grinning stepping aside.
"You want to make a sandwich? We could eat and just chat if you like." said Nella.
The tall man gave a nod in understanding. He wasn't much of a singer, but he could definitely see how conflict would prevent people from doing things they previously enjoyed. "Yeah, I get what you mean," he replied back. A perplexed look appeared on his face when the woman recognized him. One of the hot guys from Supernatural? Oh, right. That's where he was from. Supernatural. He caught the woman's blush, and gave off a goofy smile at the comment, but decided not to say anything about it. He didn't need to go bothering the poor gal about what she said. Plus, she went on about the show she came from. It was odd to listen to her. He had grown up being told to keep the family business a secret, to not flaunt about the fact that demonic things were real, yet there was an entire universe that was aware of it.
His smile died off when his mother and Jess were mentioned. His lips formed a straight line. It almost seemed like she was about to go on for a bit longer, but cut herself off. Who else was she going to mention? Sam kept the thought in mind and decided not to look into it. He figured he didn't need to push his luck by nosing his way into everyone's thoughts. "Will go through? That doesn't sound uplifting," he said, his tone somewhat joking. Well, at least he had someone besides Dean to talk about what he'd been through so far. Sam loved his brother, but other company could be nice too.
"Sure, I could eat and chat. Don't think I have anything to do today anyway." His shoulders lifted upwards in a casual shrug as he stepped into the kitchen. What could he talk about? Just general things? Sam's thoughts swirled about until he found a topic. "What was that song you were singing anyway? I don't think I've heard it."
"Yeah. I just felt like singing today. I'm just in a good mood." said Nella.
She paused seeing him smile as she called him hot. This was so embarrassing but thankfully he wasn't saying anything about it. He then looked upset when she mentioned his mother and Jess and she was kicking herself for mentioning it or hinting at the future.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to bring back painful memories. And as much as I would like to tell you about the future I don't want to make things worse. I've seen enough movies about time travel to know if you change anything even killing a fly in the past could change history." said Nella.
She sighed and couldn't help grinning as he tried to make a joke. Then the subject shifted to eating and just chatting. She grinned.
"Cool. There's some baloney, cheese, and things if you want to make a sandwich like me. Or you could cook something else." said Nella.
She grabbed a coke from the fridge popping it open and took a sip. She then grabbed her sandwich and began biting into it as she was pretty hungry.
"I'm your glad your brother and the Impala were brought here. I think Dean would probably throw a fit if his car was left behind for someone to steal or scrap it." said Nella.
She chuckled knowing how much Dean loved that car almost as if it was his kid or something.
Huh. She was just singing because she was in a good mood. A look of mild surprise crossed Sam's face. It was weird to hear someone say they were in a good mood. Then again, it was weird to just have a conversation with someone outside of anyone Sam considered family that didn't involve demonic beings or vengeful spirits.
Sam swallowed, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down as he did so. "No, it's not your fault," he responded. Although he would have liked to peek into the future, he decided against asking any questions about it. Nella had a point when it came to changing the past. "Yeah, it might be better to just leave the future as a mystery." Speaking of knowing about the future, his sudden premonitions about the future had seemingly vanished inexplicably. Those actually came in handy sometimes, and ever since he was here, they had disappeared. Honestly, he wasn't sure how he felt about that.
Instead of dwelling on it, he went to grab the contents of his sandwich. He couldn't help but laugh when Nella mentioned the Impala and Dean. "I don't know if Dean could survive without the Impala. He loves that car, and I can't imagine what he'd do without it." The tall male cringed at the thought of seeing Dean without the Impala. With that, Sam started building his own sandwich. "It's probably a good thing he showed up with the car instead of me. I don't think he'd be too happy about me coming with the car without him."
"I know. I still don't want to make you sad or mad. I like it when you smile." said Nella.
She nodded when he agreed to leave the future as a mystery.
"Sounds good. Knowing too much about the future could turn out bad in ways neither of us expected." said Nella.
She chuckled as he agreed with her about Dean's car.
"It's more than just a car. It's like a member of the family to him probably. Like the fourth Winchester brother." said Nella.
She paused realizing her slip.
"I mean third Winchester brother." said Nella.
She paused looking at him and sighed.
"I suppose you could find out quick enough if you researched on the Internet. You have a younger half-brother. Adam Milligan. You didn't find him until Season 4. So about a few more years in your time. Two demons who were out to kill your father took revenge on your half-brother and his mother and killed them. Then pretended to be them to lure you guys into a trap. You eventually figured it out. I don't know if you can save him. He's probably 15 right now in your world. Knowing how much you care about family I can't lie about that. I hope there's a way back to your world so you can save him." said Nella.
Poor Adam didn't deserve dying or being trapped in hell. Or the Supernatural world's version of hell anyway. Perhaps if this war ended quick enough they could get back and save him. Or perhaps Adam would be brought here. That would be helpful as well.
The tall young man glanced up when Nella mentioned she liked to see him smile. In that moment, he came to the realization that he didn't seem to smile much. If he went through some hard times in the future, he doubted he would be smiling much later on either. "Yeah, it feels nice to smile for once. You don't have a bad smile yourself," Sam replied as he got back to work on his sandwich. Did that come out weird? It probably did, knowing Sam's luck. His attention drifted from his sandwich and back to Nella once she mentioned the car again. A fourth Winchester brother? Who was the third one? Maybe she meant the fourth member of the Winchester family? As far as Sam was aware, there was just Dean, John, and himself, and out of those three, only Dean and Sam were siblings. He gave her a perplexed look, trying to figure out why she said fourth brother.
Nella then went on to point out that Sam could get up to date with what's going on by researching the internet. Considering he had a tendency to spend a lot of time on the internet, he'd probably stumble on something about the future in his world anyway. "Wait, I have another brother?" His perplexed expression turned into one of surprise at Nella's words. His look of surprise was quick to die once he heard that the kid was dead. He was quiet for a minute, thinking for a while. Who was this kid brother he never even knew he had? Was he a hunter? Was he living a normal life? He was probably living a normal life if he got killed by supernatural creatures.
"If I get back home, I'm hoping Dean and I can save him then. I mean, he's family, and he deserves to get saved, right?"
"Thank you. No one's complimented me like that before." said Nella.
She paused as he was in shock at the slip and the eventuaLly information of his long lost half-brother. She nodded as he asked for confirmation.
"Yes. It's true. I can't remember which city it was. But you could look it up online to be sure. And when you get back maybe you should ask Bobby for help. If your father told anyone about your half-brother it would be Bobby. And even if he doesn't know I'm sure he'd help you and Dean find him." said Nella.
She nodded as Sam said he would save him.
"Yes. He does. I just hope there's a way to get you back. Or maybe we'll get lucky and they'll end up here." said Nella.
“Hey, you’re welcome,” the tall male replied with a half-hearted single-shouldered shrug.
Hearing about his long lost half-brother gave Sam mixed feelings. On one hand, he was a big brother, and honestly, that was kind of cool. Sure, he was already the big brother when it came to height, but he definitely wasn’t the older brother. But on the other hand, that was another secret John was hiding from him. Sammy wasn’t thrilled about that. With his head swirling in conflict, he finally gave a nod of acknowledgment when Nella mentioned asking Bobby for some help.
“I hope he ends up here if I never get back. If I’m stuck here, then I hope somebody will end up helping him.”
Nella smiled at him. He seemed quiet for awhile and she smiled. She decided not to tell him the rest of what happene to Adam. It would only make him upset or feel more guilty. If they stopped Adam's death then maybe they could stop the rest of it.
"I hope he does end up here. The three of you deserve to have some happiness." said Nella.
She paused looking at him.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you upset or worry about your brother. Although I'm glad you know." said Nella.
She paused at him with a grin.
"So you want to watch a movie or something?" asked Nella.
