Quote: "Peace was never an option."
Name: Erik Lensherr
Age: Somewhere in his 30's
Where is this character from?: X-Men: First Class
Why did you pick him/her?: Figured I could use a villain, and I really liked First Class Magneto, so I figured I should go ahead and snag him.
Picture:
Personality: Magneto hates humans with a passion. He believes that they can never accept what's different from them, and that mutants are far superior. He's not known for being a kind soul to humans, and very few, if any at all, have earned his respect. He has almost forgotten how to enjoy himself and be happy. Erik's sole motivation is to get mutants the respect he believes they deserve. Of course, his idea of respect is more along the lines of being feared by normal humans. He also doesn't enjoy taking orders unless given by someone he trusts. Even then, he's probably not going to be thrilled about it.
History: Erik was born sometime before World War II started. Life wasn't easy growing up, but he loved his mother greatly. That's all that really mattered to Erik, was that he had his mom. But because he was born in a Jewish family, when war came around, Erik and his mother were taken away to a Polish concentration camp. When guards attempted to take his mother away from him, that's when the boy was able to unleash his hidden power. He pried apart the gate separating them, catching the interest of the Nazis. He was pulled aside to speak one-on-one with a man named Dr. Klaus Schmidt in order to demonstrate his powers again. When he was unable to perform them, Schmidt brought in Erik's mother, threatening to kill her unless he could move a coin.
Erik failed, and his mother died as a result. In a fit of rage, he demolished the room he was in by using his power, killing two guards in the process.
Vengeance occupied Erik's mind for the next 18 years. When he finally ran into Schmidt, now going by Sebastian Shaw, once more, he was unable to kill him. Instead, he found Charles Xavier, a telepathic mutant. Together, they formed a team of ragtag mutants to find Shaw and bring him justice. With the help of Xavier, Erik was able to teach him how to have much greater control over his powers, something the former likely regrets now. He also wasn't afraid to show his pride for mutants, going so far as to tell the mutant Mystique about how he appreciated her true self much more than the skin she hid behind.
When the mutants had a final showdown with Shaw, Erik went to face him alone. Well, mostly alone. Xavier was telepathically connected to Shaw at the time, begging Erik not to go too far. Lensherr wouldn't listen. Revenge was the most important thing to him. To kill Shaw, he used a coin and rammed it through the man's brain, injuring a still telepathically connected Xavier in the process. Because of this action, and for believing humans were far too unreasonable to stand beside, he took a handful of mutants with him and formed the Brotherhood of Mutants, donning the alias Magneto.
Before finding a mutant named Emma Frost to recruit into the brotherhood, Magneto found himself waking up in Chicago. Grudgingly, he decided to join Facilier's side in the war, figuring he needed something to do if he was stuck without a way home, and he certainly wasn't going to follow any ordinary humans.
Allies: Brotherhood of mutants, TBD
Enemies: The X-Men, pretty much every normal human being
Plans: I think interacting with Steve might be interesting, since they both have connections with WWII. A fight with Iron Man might be pretty intense. Maybe a meeting/fight with Rogue?
Sample Post: No thanks
