Spotted Past (Dark Heart, Insano)

[DarkHeart]

(OCC: February 27th. morning.)

DarkHeart snuck about and went to her private room, and snatched the collar she was intending to give to Freckles and stared at it as she laid down on the cot. She never wanted to be with me anyway. Might as well as throw this out She thought and yet her robotic heart told her that it might not be the right time now. Her heart was hurt but now that she thought about it, Freckles was different from Patch. She was much more loyal to the heroes and was content there, while DarkHeart spoke badly every time the heroes were mentioned. Maybe it was better this way. Besides, Patch was here and she never would not strive away from Patch. Yet she felt like she wanted a pet of her own. A companion that would be with her above all else, and would understand above all else.

No. That was too much to ask. DarkHeart never deserved affection. She only deserved distruction and being alone pet-wise. DarkHeart was sure no dog or animal or companion would EVER want to be her friend. Or want her loyalty. Or love

[Penny]

Penny wandered in seeing Dark Heart holding a collar and looking sad. She paused looking at her concerned. She jumped onto the bed and then licked her face nuzzling against her. She wasn't sure what was wrong but she wanted to help her. She seemed nice especially after everything Patch had told her about her.

"Are you ok?" she asked.

DarkHeart would've been lying if she said that Penny's concern wasn't welcome. The robotic girl smiled to the dog and petted her back in a assuring way. DarkHeart liked Penny quite a lot, even more than Patch and didn't want Penny to fear about her safety or well-being. The robotic girl gave a sad smile replying "I just had a rough morning. I felt like coming here and I saw this collar. It is nothing really. Just something I wanted to give to a animal ally of mine before it betrayed me" It was a lie. A complete lie. But Penny didn't need to know the whole story. Especially since Freckles was her sister and it would make matters in the Dalmatian family worse than they were.

"I just wanted to make the animal happy. Guess I'm just not good at that. I don't ever think I'll deserve a pet of some kind" DarkHeart said, tenderly petting Penny as she spoke. She was trying to assure Penny that she was fine. Just a bit upset was all. Penny didn't need to worry. "I'm fine Penny. Really. It's just difficult for me to get over"

[Penny]

Penny looked at her as Dark Heart smiled and petted her. She listened to her.

"That's awful. A dog should never leave his pet." said Penny.

She paused as she spoke again saying she just wanted to the make the animal happy and didn't think she deserved a pet. She shook her head.

"Of course you do. Patch likes you. I like you. I already have pets back home but I know any dog would love to live with a human like you. Nice, funny, protective. Any dog would feel safe and happy with you. I know I would." said Penny.

She smiled at her hoping she was cheering her up.

DarkHeart was smiling. Penny's comfort was indeed working. Her smile was less sad and she felt her confidence come back. It was hard to be betrayed or better yet love something that didn't love you back. So penny saying that she liked Darkheart meant quite something to her. Especially since Penny assumed her as nice and protective and that a dog would glad to have her around. DarkHeart's gaze was joyful and flattered and she kept petting Penny as she looked at the collar. Penny was actually very wise. No wonder Patch was happier with her around.

"Well. I'm very pleased you like me. I am glad you are with your brother. You mean a lot to him and you are a very kind sister" DarkHeart responded, that was a normal tactic of DarkHeart's. If someone said something nice to her, she would say it back. She then quizzingly looked at her wanting to ask her something "Do you mean that? You would feel happy and safe if you were my pet?"

[Penny]

Penny smiled at her as Dark Heart pet her and she smiled.

"What's not to like? You're Mechakara's daughter right? And Patch likes you and Mechakara and Seven. I don't know any here except Patch but I like you. I'd like to get to know you." said Penny.

She paused as she asked her question and nodded.

"Yes. I would." said Penny.

She paused though thinking why Patch chose Mechakara as his pet.

"It does make me wonder why Patch chose Mechakara as his pet though. I mean we already have Roger, Anita, and Nanny and our whole family back there. Does he not think we're going back? I miss them and Mom and Dad and everyone else. I don't want to never see them or the farm again." said Penny.

She paused hadn't realized she was starting to cry as she began to wipe the tears away.

DarkHeart let out a chuckle, a warm chuckle, as Penny confirmed that DarkHeart was liked for a reason and that Patch along with Mechakara and Seven liked her. She then smiled wider as Penny wanted to get to know her more and was very content with Penny's answer about being DarkHeart's pet would make Penny feel safe and happy. It gave DarkHeart a very quick idea but before she could ask it, Penny started to ask why Patch would just assume not going back to the farm. Penny's crying was broke DarkHeart's cold heart though, the robot immediately picked the puppy up and cradled her, determined to cheer her up again after the puppy was so kind to her. DarkHeart gently rubbed the pup's back and soothed her as much as she could.

While holding onto Penny, DarkHeart responded assuringly "I do not believe Patch wants to not be with your previous owners. I believe that he wants Mechakara to join your family as Mechakara wanted Patch in ours. Combining our families in a way. However since they are not here it is just him with us and you. I believe your brother has good intentions and I feel you do too" DarkHeart didn't want to associate the pup with this idea but she wanted Penny to feel better so it never hurt to think about what Patch was trying to do. DarkHeart decided her question to Penny could wait just a bit longer, right after Penny was calm or something. DarkHeart then responded "I promise we will not hurt the family you do have here. Patch means the world to us and you mean the world to me. I swear on my life"

[Penny]

Penny smiled as she seemed to cheer Dark Heart up. She listened to her speak about how Patch just wanted to add new members. She nodded.

"I suppose that makes sense. After all it was just Roger, Nanny, Mom, Dad, Patch, me, and our 13 siblings once. Then we gained 84 adopted siblings after we got kidnapped by Cruella's thugs Jasper and Horace. They wanted to kill us and make a coat out of our skins. We escaped and stayed a family ever since. I suppose if Patch likes you three then I wouldn't mind welcoming you guys to our family as well." said Penny.

She paused as Dark Heart spoke again saying she wouldn't the family they had hewre.

"But it's not just Patch. Cadpig, Rolly, Pepper, and Freckles are over at the Critic's house. They're just puppies. No real threat to you. Would the four and any future family members of Patch's mine who end up there or Ask That Guy's be safe?" asked Patch.

DarkHeart was satisfied to hear that her persuasion won over Penny. It was good enough for her and therefore good enough for DarkHeart. She then mentioned the critic's pups and ATG's pups. What would become of them? DarkHeart was supposed to not care for them but Penny did and she cared for Penny. Mechakara swore to not hurt them either but their masters could care less. DarkHeart didn't want to make a promise to just lie to Penny but she wanted Penny to feel happy about the others.

So, reluctantly, DarkHeart smiled and responded "Yes. I will not hurt them and I will make sure they will not be harmed. If I can. I am aware they pose no threats. They are your family and mean quite a lot to you. I will attend them to the proper armies" DarkHeart patted Penny's back and decided to ask her the question bugging her mind, but she wanted a response from Penny first. DarkHeart added "Do not worry Penny. They will deal with me if they try to hurt your siblings"

[Penny]

Penny listened to her as she seemed to grow silent before speaking again saying she would make sure they weren't harmed. And knew they meant a lot to them.

"Thank you for trying at least. I know you have family too. Mechakara and your sister. If one of them was over at Critic's as a prisoner or member I know you'd do anything to get them right?" said Penny.

She sighed before speaking again.

"A part of me wishes I could kidnap Freckles, Pepper, Cadpig, Rolly, and Darla and lock them up to keep them safe. Even if they hated me.. at least they'd be safe. But that also would feel wrong because they'd be locked up." said Penny.

[DarkHeart]

DarkHeart nodded "Of course. If they were a relunctant member or a prisoner, I would risk my life for my family. That includes your brother and yourself penny" She then was saddened that Penny wished for her family, enough to kidnap them. Even though she wasn't concerned about kiddnapping she was aware of the conditions of captures. Therefore it was something that DarkHeart too disapproved of "Unfortunately Penny your family are the army's enemy. If you kidnapped them they would be taken care of in the cruelist of ways, and I wouldn't be able to stop them even if I wanted to, which I most likely would. They, I'm afraid to admit, are safer on their sides" DarkHeart hated admitting this but it was the truth. If there was one thing, it was the fact no-one got left behind if you were loyal to the team.

This brought her back to the question digging at her mind. What if Penny got wise and betrayed them, alongwith DarkHeart herself possibly betraying them. It would not happen obviously but something in her heart wanted to not be here. DarkHeart go to it finally and responded "Penny. I admit, I grow weary of this war, it's dangerous and if you got captured by the others I would save you but what if some random stranger captured you? They would take you to the pound. I wish to protect you... I have a idea but I wish to hear your thoughts first"

[Penny]

Penny sighed as much as she wanted her family she knew they were safer over there. She looked up at her sadly.

"I know you're right. It doesn't help that I don't miss them. If Mechakara or Seven was over at Ask That Guy's could you say you wouldn't be tempted to kidnap them? Or try to make them see your point of view?" asked Penny.

She sighed as she looked at the ground.

"It's not fair. Why do we hae to be on opposite sides? Patch and I are just puppies. I'm surprised Facilier hasn't tried to kill Patch or throw him out by now. I mean what good are we. At least Critic seems to keep a variety of members while Facilier seems to have mostly tough members." said Penny.

She looked up at Dark Heart curiously.

"What idea are you taking about?" asked Penny.

[DarkHeart]

"Yes. It is tempting and I would most likely try it but it would hurt them more than help. I cannot think emotionally at times of what if, dear Penny. However if you want the honest answer than I probably would do the same things you're thinking of right now. That said, it would hurt yourself and others more often than help" DarkHeart's tone was assuring but firm. She was being rather blunt but the puppy looked like she could handle it a bit. DarkHeart hugged Penny a bit more as she expressed her hurt and frustrations about her family being on all different sides. This was harder to express than Freckles but it seemed more easy to talk about.

"It is unfair. War comes with a price and yes it involves families being broken. Facilier's mercy is what keeps you and your brother alive. You should not worry about your life. So long as you are loyal or with me. I won't let even him harm you and I trust him" DarkHeart's head slightly hurt at the moment of admitting trust to facilier. It was almost as if it was wrong to say or hurtful to say. Something was up with her systems and DarkHeart was probably gonna find out what soon.

DarkHeart sat Penny next to her on the bed and grabbed a small black collar with a gold tag on it. It was meant for Freckles but DarkHeart knew that was a lost cause so Penny could possibly be next. Right? DarkHeart showed this to her and responded "I wish to legally adopt you as my pet, that way the law and no-one on any other side could harm you. You would be mine but you would still be Penny Radcliffe. I ask you not to forget about your family but to be a member of my own. You do not have to do this but I wish you to know of this decision because I wish you happiness"

[Penny]

Penny nods cheering up the more Dark Heart spoke as she listened to her. She grinned.

"I'm glad you're here. You and Mechakara and Seven and Patch. I wouldn't want to be alone here. I'd probably be locked up with the prisoners or thrown on the street. Or Cruella might try to turn me into a scarf or something." said Penny.

She shuddered at the thought as she focused back onto Dark Heart.

"I don't know why he wants me or Patch here. I think he's only kept us here so he doesn't have you, Mechakara, or Dark Heart mad at him." said Penny.

Penny paused as Dark Heart grabbed a collar. Dark Heart said she wished to legally adopted Penny as a pet so no one could harm her. That she would still be Penny Radcliffe but she would take over. She paused as she looked at the collar. Dark Heart was pretty nice and it would be nice to have more of a family here as all she had was Patch for now. But she didn't really want to wear Dark Heart's collar.

"Can I keep my own collar? It's all I have left of home. I don't want to give it up." said Penny.

DarkHeart understood imprisoning Penny but turning her into a scarf? Cruella was cruel as they assumed her to be. The robot's eyes narrowed at that and thought to herself If that woman dares turn Penny into a scarf I'll think about turning her into a purse for Seven of Eleven to use She petted Penny's back as she responded "She'll have to go through me first dearest Penny"

"I do not know either. I assume because the man is a merciful person when he wishes" DarkHeart responded but Penny's logic was getting to her. And her head, as the pounding started to increase but she dimmed it as just a bad headache. She shrugged at the possible chance of keeping the pups here was to apease her, Seven of Eleven and Mechakara. She didn't know for the honest truth.

DarkHeart was planning to either use or destroy the collar so she didn't faze at Penny's question of keeping her old collar. She knew that Penny was a bit more weary of her family than Patch was but DarkHeart wanted to gain Penny's trust and felt that the forcing of the collar would not do that. So DarkHeart put the collar back in her pocket and responded "Yes. You are free to keep your old collar. Just because I adopt you doesn't mean you can't have something of value of your old home. I am sure no-one will notice" She smiled petting Penny's head. Even though she would've prefered the pup to take her collar, she would not object to this option.
