Dammit Disney screen caps and your giant file sizes…oh yeah, to the right
Personality:
Cogsworth can come off as a buzzkill because he usually has an objection to any sort of non-traditional nonsense or any sort of rule-breaking. His motives for his tight leash on others are to keep them (and himself) out of trouble. Though sometimes a snippy killjoy, he is caring and willing give advice or comfort whenever he feels it could be given. Faced with danger, he tends to be a coward. Formerly the head of household of Prince Adam’s castle, he believes he is entitled to everyone’s attention and obedience; though, he had trouble keeping order anyway, so he’d grown rather used to it. This isn’t to say his temper doesn’t grow short in these all-too-frequent occasions. His reactions to not getting his way can range from frustration to extreme worry; either of which are entertaining to watch. After a point of failing to instill order, he’ll just give up and roll with it.
History:
In case you have no childhood... Cogsworth is the head of household of Prince Adam’s castle. When the prince refused to let an ugly beggar woman into the castle for shelter, the beggar woman revealed herself to be an enchantress and laid a curse on the castle, turning the prince into a monstrous beast and all of those living in the castle into inanimate objects. Cogsworth was transformed into a clock (haha, “cogs”, get it?). He has had many mishaps with his friend Lumiere’s (a candle) shenanigans with breaking the mater’s rules.
When a young lady named Belle entered the castle, hope sprung up that she might break the curse. And so the household looked on (like a bunch of creepers) to see if beauty could truly fall in love with the beast. Because this is a Disney movie, Belle opened her heart to the Beast, seeing what he was on the inside. However, she only realized this as the fuzzy monster lay dying after being stabbed by a spiteful Gaston. The curse was broken and the furniture celebrated long into the night. Adam was turned into his human form, as was Cogsworth and the other household items. And still Lumiere did shenanigans that Cogsworth disapproved with in general…therefore, all was right with the world.
That was until, the plump man found himself magically zapped to the “real world” where he was apparently caught up in an ongoing war (holy shit, it’s DWOW all over again). Luckily for him, at least he had the familiarity of Belle and Mrs. Potts to cling to within the chaos.
Allies: Belle, Prince Adam/The Beast, Lumiere, Mrs. Potts, Chip, Fifi, the Critic’s Army
Enemies: Gaston, Ask ThatGuy’s Army, Facilier’s Army
Plans: …Oh, probably be captured.
